There's a sign on the door that sets the expectation of a potential wait outside while seats become available. Ordering your ramen happens as soon as you enter so make sure you've taken a look at the menu before entering. There's several styles of ramen including salt or miso. You get a choice of wholemeal or white buns, and then there's a range of beef, lamb and chicken burger options. They also sell beers. This place is often open when nowhere else on campus is, so that's a bonus, and the staff are pretty friendly. If they get an unexpected rush during a quiet period they can be underprepared and understaffed leading to some long waits, but really, I suspect this doesn't happen too often. There's often vouchers around the place for some deals too, so keep an eye out.

The interior is very authentic of the classic American diner from the counter, to the booth seating and the presentation of the meals. It is very accessible as it is just across the road from the Indooroopilly train station. Parking in the centre can be a bit of a challenge however. The meals are amazing! If you are in the mood for a serious burger, I highly recommend this place. They are filling and tasty. My favourite was the mushroom wagyu beef burger which as I recall was called the 'Central Park' or something similar. The chocolate shake was also a solid staple of mine. Prices are standard and they also do takeaway. It is definitely worth dining in for the full experience. It can get quite busy so avoid peak meal times or be prepared to wait for a table. If you are a fan of modern gourmet food and the inner-City lifestyle and you have not been to NKB Express, this should be your next stop! I'll be back.

(I'm not kidding, they use skewers to keep the burgers together.) I love the range as well, I usually order the Zen Hen on a gluten free bun and a side of chips to share. Most people also agree that Grill'd has amazing decor (an American industrial meets Retro kinda vibe.) Despite the large number of stores throughout Australia if definitely does not have the 'chain' vibe and each location tends to have its own personality. The Garden City shopping centre Grill'd certainly provides an enjoyable experience. The burgers are always top quality and the waiting times are low, even during busy periods such as weekend lunch. This particular location always seems to have a bevy of reading material for diners to peruse while they are waiting for and eating their burgers. My personal favourites are the 'Hot Mama' Moroccan flavoured burger and the much more traditional 'Summer Sunset' which comes with some of that sweet sweet pineapple. The range is very interesting and they seem to be constantly adding to the menu with new salads and steak sandwiches. Vegetarian options are also available for those inclined, and the home style thick cut chips with rosemary salt always go down a treat. Staff are always helpful and friendly. If anything a bit too friendly almost chasing you out of the store as you leave to make sure that they have said 'Have a great day'. If you have been living under a rock, or simply have passed by thinking that you do not want to pay upwards of $10 for a burger, trust me, it is definitely worth your while to give it a try, and you will likely become just as hooked as me.

Turn around on an order, when at its busiest, can take up to fifteen minutes. But, for what you pay is rewarded handsomely. A welcome addition to Carraway is that they also serve breakfast. They are not particularly slow but if you are in a rush you'd be more tempted to just slump for McDonalds or Hungry Jacks where you don't need to wait 15-20 minutes.
