We love this place, the hotel is super accommodating and exactly what you need when in town for work or a wedding/quick stop over. The brunch and restaurant it quite good and the little food shop is fun and has lots of yummy goodies. Hotel is very accessible and great location, you can rent a pack and play for your baby for very minimal cost per night. Check in is fast and never had a line. Brunch is included and it's really generous, they have hot and cold food options with all dietary and allergy information available. The service is really helpful and can get you stuff if you're looking for something in particular. It also has some busy hours but if you go early you can easily find a big booth or table. The food shop is definitely higher prices but gives a sort of gourmet grocery vibes with lots of random snacks and fresh meals prepared. read more

If you don't already know, Urban Deli is mentioned in Travel Guides as a place tourists can get a quality reasonably priced meal in Stockholm. I had the best Salmon, Broccoli, Squash, Rice here for $12 US. They have this section with many salads and pre-prepared meat and fish dishes. They have three microwaves and a really cool sitting area you can eat and buy beer or wine. Nice atmosphere. They also sell great drinks and smoothies and these Raw-Bite bars not available in the USA. After dinner you can pick up yogurt and fruit in the grocery section to bring back to the hotel for the next day. They also have a sit down restaurant that I went to the next night that has a very limited menu. I actually thought about dining there, but walked out and went somewhere else. The strength of this place is in the pre-prepared food section. The area around Urban is upscale--30's-40's mainly it seemed. Kind of reminded me of the Upper West Side of Manhattan. Stockholm in general is very much like a USA big city. Lot's of other restaurants in the area. Cool to walk around the area but always be aware of your surrounding in Stockholm like you would in LA or NYC. read more

We had a nice Sunday brunch share, a very cool place in the Norrmalm city center. Next to the restaurant is a grocery market resembling a Scandi version of a mini Whole Foods. The brunch we shared a plate of the eggs, sausage, and bacon, satisfying and tasty. The real winner was the basket of smoked shrimps recommended by the waiter, generous portion and just very fun to peel and eat the deliciously smoked shrimps while sipping on the very well made Bloody Mary's (I preferred the in-house version vs the original). The fin de claire oysters were fresh, though a bit pricey. Lastly, the service was ok, from word around the city the service most days could be improved, mainly a very "hipster" vibe attitude. While our server was helpful, we saw another table of middle aged women asked to leave by another server because the table has been reserved, though for the next half hour we didn't see a party get seated. This scenario has been mentioned previously by many, they need to work on being flexible with their reservations if there's plenty of open tables still remaining (which there was). If this scenario happens while still with unfinished plates or drinks, or simply a conversation, move to one of the unreserved long tables or the bar to finish instead of being "kicked out" for the next group who haven't shown up yet. Didn't happen to us, so I won't knock the restaurant in my rating, but I can see this being a repeated problem in the future. read more

We stopped here for some appetizers our first day in Stockholm. The food was delicious - we got huevos rancheros and the bao bun. The flavors were great. I thought the food was overpriced for what it was, but it was also our first restaurant in Scandinavia so I hadn't adjusted to the expensive prices yet. The service was ordinary and the same had to be said about the food. I've only been to the restaurant and my opinion is that the food is expensive for the quality delivered. My half lobster was nothing special. It was just half of a boiled lobster that came at the price about 25 CAD. That's the price of 4 one-pound lobster in my hometown. My friend had the half crab and all he could eat was the innards because they didn't crack the claw for him nor was the necessary tool provided. My main course was the waitress' recommendation - a beef burger that's even more expensive than the starter. The burger wasn't terrible but it was very plain and basic. I'm sorry but for a recommendation, the burger was subpar compared to most of the burgers I've had. Maybe it was a mistake to suggest a burger to someone that comes from North America? Maybe I just picked the wrong items in the menu but my lunching experience was not very memorable. Sorry. read more

Don't take the cheesy name as an indication of the quality of the food! This place is seriously good for a light bite and has a large if reasonably expensive array of cool 'Urban' delights you can buy off the shelf! Think Wholefoods with a 'Urban chic' Nordic bar (ok I said it) in the centre. I had a really scary dish called Korean Steak Tartare and it was super tasty with a number of textural elements which lifted the dish and kept you coming back for more. This is a casual restaurant/grocery store combo, with excellent bar drinks and a fun atmosphere. We were there early in the evening, with our kids. The venue is kid-friendly, but ours weren't too hot on the food - I'm not sure why. There are children's menu options available. Overall menu is somewhat meat heavy, but they do also offer fish and vegetarian options. On the recommendation of the waitstaff, I tried one of their signature cocktails, a citrusy aquavit style liquor combo with fresh dill. As the waitress put it "this is the taste of Summer in Sweden". It sounded weird but it was amazing. I continued dreaming about that cocktail for weeks afterwards. Not kidding. Actually I am still dreaming about it two months later. But, on to the food... We ordered the Korean style beef appetizer, to share. It was good. For our main, we ordered the Kottplata (meat and sausages for two) which was like half a freakin cow on a giant board with three yummy sauces, plus fries and some token carrots thrown in. This was awesome, but way too much food for two people. Will be happy to return to this place many times. My husband and I kind of fell in love with this place. The philosophy behind it is inspiring and the food is delicious. The service is even good! Sadly we didn't get up to the roof terrace, but the ambiance in the restaurant is very nice, so it was food. Do you like steak tartare? Yes? Get it here. Wow. A cooked burger instead? Love Urban Deli! I had some out-of-control awesome pumpkin soup here the other week! I also noticed that they had that same soup in the market for take-away. A little more towards the front of the market they had a large display of apple cider too! I love when a place serves seasonal favorites! I think I have always had a lot of luck on the vegetarian dishes at either of the UDs being very good! I've heard it can be a bit hit or miss with some of the food, but I have never had an issue. So i'm showing the love to the new UD with 5 whole Yelptastic stars!! =) This is the newest location of this budding little chain of markets/restaurants in the city and i'm super glad I gave it a try. The market is bigger and the grocery/take-away options feel much more plentiful and impressive than UD used to feel a few years ago. The salad bar area, meat and fish counters look a lot like a grocery store section but the quality looks much higher. The prices do reflect that though, so be aware! I was initially a little weird about the fact that this place boasted that it was a "deli" since it was clearly more of a restaurant than a deli. However, with the expanded market at all locations the past few years, Urban Deli feels more like the name now! An urban delicatessen! =) I would have never been caught mingling or grabbing a glass of wine at my local "deli" in Soho NYC... LOL, but I'm pretty sure that the concept of a "deli" in the states is much more informal (like a corner 7-Eleven but with a sandwich counter) than what the european idea for a delicatessen is (a small market with high quality and high priced foods.) I think the take-away meals around 80-90 sek are reasonable for the quality. I think I initially reviewed that their take-away seemed super expensive at the other location because I was still thinking in American dollars (I need to stop comparing prices to the US... it's going to drive me insane! Lol.) If I lived near to one of these places I could definitely see myself stocking up pre-made meals for a few days and some market items to put in my kitchen on a pretty regular basis! I've tried the 3 options at Urban Deli: - Hotel: nice rooms. Comfortable bed. The high tech TV is not working at all. It's just a common TV which is a shame. The side light near the bed are not very practicle: I keep banging head/arms all the time... And the shower flood too easily. The fact that the rooms are underground is ok during winter but not nice during summer. But it's still a nice and central hotel within walking distance of T-Centralen (and so Arlanda Express) and 10m away from Hötorget tube station. Breakfast is awesome though you should work on a real take away option. - Restaurant: nice. Expensive (but then, welcome to Stockholm!). Nice drink list. Shrimps are amazing. - Supermarket/canteen: nice for meeting friends/collegues and when I'm eating alone during a business trip. Though it's not a very smart system: you buy food at the supermarket, can heat it and eat it in the canteen but if you want a glass of wine pr a coffee...: different cashier. You can't pay everything at one place which make expenses a hell. read more

It will be without a doubt the most amazing, unparalleled dining experience you will ever had. Apart from the great food (kudos for amazing vegetarian options!!!) they have a really cool vibe, the sweetest servers & did I mention the food again!!! It doesn't seem overtly expensive; but given that they make eating a wholesome gastronomical experience; I would say its pretty cheap. We started with an appetizer and loved it so much that we proceeded to more and it did not disappoint one bit. This review is only for the cafe and food hall. Came here for breakfast several times last week and enjoyed it every time. Cinnamon and cardamom buns were flavorful and moist with delicious dough. The coffee drinks were expertly prepared in very nice mugs for sitting and enjoying. Cheese sandwiches were also great. Only negative was the bathroom visa didn't seem to work half the time. This was easily counter balanced by free wifi. Would highly recommend this place for any meal if you're in the area and want great food at more-than-moderate prices for expensive Stockholm. read more

The urban deli's are places where I feel that I get exquisite food and drinks in a hipster/upscale environment with above average prices. It's definitely not elitist but also not a relaxed hipster hang. So I checked out the new one at sveavägen for a casual dinner with a friend and we found it quite relaxing. Not too loud, very attentive service, short but well balanced menu. We tried fish and the sausage dish and had creme brûlée for desert. A nice experience. read more

Urban Deli is still the best supermarket in town. Their products are carefully selected - and with a large focus on small organic produce. Think butter made by a dairy in the Stockholm Skärgård, raw bars, cold-pressed juices, plates of charcuterie and cheese, granola, freshly baked bread, super foods, meats...
