Not the Mother of all florists, but close!…read more I usually walk in and ask for a fresh bouquet, on the spot: who it is for, the occasion, the budget, a colour restriction if there is one and off the florist goes. The flowers are of good quality, they give you recommendations to take care of them, the bouquets are well-made and always with enough greenery in it so that if you are on an empty wallet - I know I usually am - you don't show up with a tiny ridiculous thing. The selection of flowers and accessories has nothing to envy to larger florists. My favourite thing about this shop is that it is organized, but stays alive and messy: you can see the staff love flowers and a lush, beautiful display of colours. The aroma of fresh flowers and the humidity in the air just put you at peace. Walk in even if you don't buy, you'll see for yourself!
I'd been hearing a lot about this place since it opened. All the hipsters had been raving about it…read more It's decor was cool, great selection. Wait until you smell the place etc etc. If there's one thing I hate it's queuing and I heard there was always a queue, so it took me a while to get off my fat carcass and haul my ass down here. Imagine my surprise when I walked into the place and no queue. They weren't wrong, place smells amazing. Now, admittedly I'd not really been paying attention when I walked in as I'd been on my phone...... There's a lot of flowers in here....Why's that I wonder? Hang on.....This isn't Gelato Messina. I've walked into the florist 5 doors up. I'm doing the wrong review. Ok, well I've started the review so, I may as well finish it. These guys are my go to for flowers for work and for all family events on the rare occasions I participate in Adult endeavors such as buying flowers for some one. Considering what I know about flowers can be written on the back of a post it note, I always need hand holding when it comes to making my purchase and judging by my Fiancees reaction, I (they) have made a great choice. They are a little pricey but in fairness their stuff stands out. As I said we have also used them for corporate events and people have remarked on the arrangements. While it's no Ice cream parlor, Like I first thought, it is a solid florist that if you're getting something for a loved one, they're going to love it. At least, they always have in my experience. Gifting the flowers from these guys has help give the impression to others that i might be a man of taste when in reality it's all these guys. I just hand over the money and trust their excellent judgement. Wouldn't kill them to have a few ice creams available though..........

We didn't know Flower Power had a cafe in it until a family friend showed us. Aside from it being a…read morereally nice nursery they had a lovely outdoor cafe. We came here on an early Saturday afternoon for brunch. [ Atmosphere ] There's plenty of tables for large or small parties, and the cafe is both indoor/outdoor. And a nice little playground for the kids in the corner. Oh and there's a beautiful view of the pond (with koi fish) from mostly everywhere you sit in the cafe. There are wooden beams with green ivy hanging from it, and just a variety of trees and plants everywhere. I felt like I was in a movie sitting there, it really felt whimsical. [ Menu ] - Bacon, poached egg, caesar salad. It was a good salad, but nothing too spectacular. Presentation was nice though. - Mango smoothie. This was really tasty, not to sweet, and just a real refreshing drink to have while sitting back and enjoying the natural scenery. - Pesto pasta. This was great, you can't really go wrong with a pesto pasta. - Cappuccino. Just your average [ Service ] This is why I didn't give them 5 stars, mainly because the service was pretty bad. At the time we came we understood they were understaffed, but the staff that were there at the time didn't really have a great attitude about serving us. It's times like that when you can see if someone will choose to put on a smile and serve or just be mad at the world, and boy our server was mad at the world. We felt really rushed when she was taking our order, and she didn't bother smiling at all. Even when she gave us our order, we were afraid to ask for more napkins or utensils because she seemed so disgruntled. I felt bad for her, but at the same time, it's really all about being flexible. Overall I loved this place only because of the beautiful scenery. I wish I could take my mum here, she would've loved it. I think next time we'll just order a cup of coffee/tea and just enjoy the atmosphere.

They have a…read morelarge selection of beautiful bonsai at the back of the shop which is so peaceful to wander around. The reason I haven't given 5* is the price, which has dramatically gone up. When I put the plants in to be clipped, the owner said he'd re-use 1 pot, so I'd only need to purchase 1 pot for the other plant which had grown. I asked what the price would be for the additional pot, plus the trimming, to be told $30-$40 total. On collecting the plants a week later the price was suddenly $70!!!! I questioned this to be told that was the price now! I'll be going elsewhere or doing them myself in the future, because this is just far too expensive. A new bonsai every year would be cheaper!
