I came here for lunch during my lunch break at my store - Diane's Crystals On George Street. Their selection of tuna is to die for - I had the super salad with extra tuna (hold the salad). The aura is very pleasant. I personally was able to have a peaceful realignment process after a negative experience at another location that I shall never mention again! Their menu was divine before, unfortunately it has removed some museli and tuna. However, I am still able to find a nourishing dish to achieve photosynthesis peacefully. Come one, come all! Or, maybe it's easier just buy a house here in Palm Beach New South Wales....ha. After a great lunch at The Boat House by the water then took a stroll down to their home store was the best thing I did!! Awesome place to stop by if you are ever in the area!! The girls here were super nice. I even got a passion fruit popsicle on the side of the store that was yum yum!!

Sure enough, Dickson Avenue has a sizeable showroom, with attention drawn via a display of candy coloured plastic wicker outdoor chairs on the sidewalk. It's a good source of outdoor furniture - both the plastic weave stuff and more traditional teak. Staff are attentive and interested - they want to chat through your needs at length and propose alternatives and ideas, which is useful if you're not set on a certain path. Lead times are quite long - and can stretch out. Despite enjoying the shopping experience here, we actually bought elsewhere, though paid considerably more than we would have at Dickson Avenue - just a choice we made in favour of higher quality and durability, though Dickson's products were good value for money.

The place is packed to the brim with gorgeous arrangements and outside there are plants galore. They fill the street out the front so you can browse them as you are walking past. Something usually tempts my eye and there I am, walking away with at least a bunch of poppy's. For $10, why not? The people are just so lovely in here and what seems like a straightforward transaction of 'see flower, purchase flower' actually ends up being a convo for ten minutes. They do the wrap for a gift or wrap for home like most places do and I have been satisfied if it is a present and even more satisfied at what they charge me.

There are wooden beams with green ivy hanging from it, and just a variety of trees and plants everywhere. I felt like I was in a movie sitting there, it really felt whimsical. At the time we came we understood they were understaffed, but the staff that were there at the time didn't really have a great attitude about serving us. It's times like that when you can see if someone will choose to put on a smile and serve or just be mad at the world, and boy our server was mad at the world. We felt really rushed when she was taking our order, and she didn't bother smiling at all. Even when she gave us our order, we were afraid to ask for more napkins or utensils because she seemed so disgruntled. I felt bad for her, but at the same time, it's really all about being flexible. Overall I loved this place only because of the beautiful scenery. I wish I could take my mum here, she would've loved it. The interior is clean with white tile floorings and white plywood furnishings as if to humbly let the sweets and the flowers take centre stage. The menu comprises of floral influenced sweets and drinks. I opted for the very instagrammable looking Terrarium, a white chocolate globe filled with passion fruit and finger lime pannacotta, brown butter soil and edible flowers. It's an incredibly delicate dessert that taste as good as it looks. I enjoyed it with a pot of Le Vie En Rose Tea which perfectly complements the dessert. The Summer Rose Pav, with earl grey tea meringue, rose chantily cream, fresh strawberries, freeze dried raspberries, candied orange and lemon balm was vibrant and light. Their brownie was rich with generous amount of walnuts in the brownie. I washed all these down with Watermelon and Earl Grey Ice Tea which was refreshing and as elegant as their cakes. I genuinely enjoyed the whole experience. The space is limited but the wait for the table is worth it. Warning: you will want to eat every cake in here, they're that pretty!

The Hippy Shop in Springwood is right opposite the train station, and takes up almost the entire…read moresidewalk! But I like it, it has a very marketplace-y feel. And, true to their name, all the products are hippy-like! Tie-dye tops, dresses and baggy pants, hemp totes, Buddha statues, antique-looking artefacts like an old chest of drawers, a small cabinet, what looks to be an armoire, plush, ornate pouffes.. and that's just on the outside! If you venture inside (where it's dark and only lit with lamps), you'll see more intricately designed artefacts, like little stone figurines, ornamental lanterns, windchimes which are constantly making soothing tinkling sounds in the background as you browse... it's really quite a lovely atmosphere. There's even all kinds of incense, including one that is made to smell like marijuana. Why one would want incense that smells that marijuana, I'm not quite sure. You also get a nice mix of cheap items, and expensive items, so there will always be something to fit your budget.

This is the perfect place to go if you need a easy gift or if your tastes are off the beaten track. I would otherwise give this store a lower rating for the mobility issues around the store but I love it too much. Please be careful if you need space to move around. The aisles are quite narrow (so much stock!) and it is difficult to pass other customers. Bring a VERY small bag if you don't want to knock the stock over and break things. Go here, I dare you!

My family has been shopping here for years and we've collected a fantastic display of talking point lights and lamps. I recently went into Pearl Lighting to pick up a gift and I couldn't resist a beautiful bankers lamp which was on sale for $77. As for what I was after, well the glass rose shaped lamp shade was on sale for, wait for it, $5. Amazing! These guys also stock interesting knick knacks like reproduced world globes. I've been looking for a world globe for ages and I finally found it. Sure it isn't vintage but it looks it. Guess how much? $60. So great. Highly, highly recommended.
