We love HPA. My 3 teen boys have been with HPA since they were off Governors drive. It will be 18…read moreyears in May that we have been with HPA and the quality care and treatment is excellent. All of our kids were born prematurely. When we had a bad experience with a referral for in home Jaundice care. I simply just mentioned it to Dr. Klemm atca follow up appointment and he quickly resolved it. I was exhausted and overwhelmed with being a 1st time Mom of a premature baby to care for and was so grateful for his intervention without even having to ask! Over the years the care our boys have received by Dr. Klemm, the nursing staff and the front office has been are unmatched. When we moved almost an hour away 11 years ago, I still made the trek to their new office, even further away because there is no-one else I trusted to treat our boys. Side not one insurance issues: BCBS of AL loves to blame the Physician/Provider for insurance issues when in reality the quality of the insurance provided by BCBS of AL is terrible. We've had BCBSAL for 20 plus years. Each year we pay more and get less coverage. I imagine all doctors and front offices are overwhelmed with the ever changing coverage. I find it unfair to blame HPA when the ones raking in billions of dollars are the company execs at BCBS while we get LESS coverage and PAY MORE. Somr Physicians are leaving their fields because of all the loopholes they go through just to be able to treat patients and make a decent living. Policy change is necessary for better healthcare so Physicians can focus on treating patients not paperwork.

I am very surprised by some of the reviews as it has not been my experience ever with this…read morepractice. My 3 kids have been with Dr. Klemm since they were born. They are all in High School now with my oldest about to go to college. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Klemm and his staff, the most capable and caring group of healthcare professionals we've ever met. They have been a blessing for almost 18 years and I recommend them to every new parent I meet. The best around, period.

First of all, Pediatric Associates of Madison is not an Optometrist. Specs of Madison is next door…read morein the same building. I only gave this practice 2 stars because of only one bad experience I had with a receptionist named Karen, when I called with a question about a daycare form I needed signed. EVERY other interaction I've had with other doctors, and all the other staff has been completely professional and outstanding service!! Please read this entire review before deciding against using this practice. Every doctor that we have seen here is nothing short of outstanding!!! Dr. Dill is amazing!!! Last year my son got his arm caught in between the slats of his crib, and tried to jerk it out himself. We heard him screaming in the middle of the night. We went in his room and he was holding his arm and would not move it. We had no idea what really happened but did not notice and marks or bruises on him. We rushed him to the Madison hospital ER where he screamed for hours, had an exray, was given a brace that was too big and told to go to the TOC in the morning because they can't figure out what was wrong. I called Dr. Dill that morning and told her what happened and she saw him right away. After looking at his shoulder and arm a few min. She said let me try something. I held him while she bent his elbow holding it up vertically and extended his arm straight down. I felt a pop and the pain was instantly gone. She said he just had what they call nurses elbow. Young children's joints are not fully hardened and if they are jerked up by their arm or as in his case jerked his own arm out of the slats in his crib, it's easy dislocated and pinches a nerve that's very painful and will show no signs of trauma. No redness, no swelling, no bruising. The on call pediatric er doctor waisted hours and hours of our time and money. I just have to think he must have been inexperienced. But Dr. Dill is amazing! My son loves her and she's very friendly, through, and wise!!! Highly recommend her!!! The only complaint I have about this practice is the extremely RUDE and hostile woman that sometimes answers the phone named Karen. I called on 1/27/17 to ask a question about a form I need a doctor to sign before my son could start full time day care. I asked if I need to make an appointment or if they had enough info to just fill it out and sign it. This woman rudely asked, does it ask for a dr signature? I said yes. She was like well then you need to bring it to us to sign. I said I know but will I need to make an appointment? She said like I was dumb... no just drop it off! I said but will the dr need to see my son before she signs it!? I said well ok at least let me read you what it says just to make sure... so I read it out loud to her. She then huffed out loud and said... what is the patients name? I told her, keyboard clicks... well, in a hostile voice... since he has NOT had a physical in 2017, then yes, he will HAVE to have one before the doctor will sign it. I said that is what I was asking all along. Then I said when is Dr. Dill's next available.... key board clicks, April 1st. I said what about any other dr there... she said in a very hostile voice again NO it doesn't work like that! I said look I need to go back to work and I can not wait 2 months for this physical. I love Dr. Dill and don't want to have to switch dr just over this. She said well there's nothing I can do and that would be your choice. I said look why are you being so hostile to me??? Tell me what I have said to you to offend you? Your being rude for no reason at all! The right way to handle this would have been to listen to me fully to begin with, then say, sounds like you need and appointment and I'm sorry but looks like dr dill is booked for a long time, let me get your phone number and call you back and see what we can work out. She said in an even more rude voice, mam, I did not say I was sorry about anything. I interrupted her and said I know you didn't but you should! She said, I'll have Dr. Dill's nurse call you, what's your number.. I said fantastic! Then gave her my number and hung up. Her name is Karen, the same receptionist called me back in ten minutes and said, mam, we were able to work you in on Monday at 9:15. I said wow a miracle! And hung up! Just be warned!!! I'm going to ask to speak to anyone else next time I call. Life is hard enough without the doctors we depend on hiring rude and angry people who don't listen or care about their patients needs and think it's acceptable behavior to speak to the parents who pay a ton of money to carry good insurance and on co-pays on their kids and do lots of research before choosing a pediatrician for their family. If you don't like your job, quit! Or get fired! I know a ton of kind and caring, qualified and capable people out there that would be very very thankful and grateful to have that Job!!!
