Asador Urizar was one of our restaurant highlights during a month spent on the Iberian peninsula. Six of us had a feast, sharing most of the items on the menu. Urizar has a roadhouse vibe to it, ordering at the counter and spreading ourselves out at a long table, where plates could easily be passed around. Service was efficient and friendly in dealing with my children's limited language skills while ordering, and keeping the food coming out to the table as it was ready.
We shared a roast chicken, an entire roasted fish, pork loin, a wide variety of sides, and a bottle of cider, followed by cheesecake for dessert. It was wonderful.
The atmosphere was welcoming and casual, perfect for shared plates and conversation with a group.
The menu was big enough to have something for everyone, and small enough for tourists to navigate without being overwhelmed.
All in all, Asador Urizar was a delightful place to bring my family. It's easy to reach from anywhere in the Plentzia / Gorliz area. read more
