I was looking for a store that sold christmas themed items and traditional "smoke men" (or german incense smokers). My search ended when I came across their website (http://www.pegasus-zuerich.ch/). While most things are pretty pricey, you can't beat the quality and beauty of the gifts. If you're looking for something a bit different and less touristy to bring home to family and friends, this store is a must visit! I can't wait to go back again and see what treasures I can find.

The young very tall guy that took care of us was so nice , and so patient while my daughter and I chose the perfect cuckoo clock ! It was a wonderful experience ! We loved him !!! We had the clock delivered and upon delivery one of the chains Came loose .. we called and spoke to Christian the owner who was wonderful and so patient .. he walked my husband through each step and how to connect the chain back onto the wheel ! I love this store and I'm so glad that I returned 40 years later with my daughter ! If In Zurich this is the place to get all your souvenirs! Thank you so much for keeping my memory alive ! I spent 2 hours just walking through reading everything and could hand easily spent another 30-60 minutes. The chocolate samples were wonderful! You get to try the liquid chocolate: dark, milk, and white. Several pieces of Lindt chocolate, and of course one of each truffle flavor! The store was huge and had a lot of variety. The prices were comparable to grocery store prices. The cafe served a variety of great lunch items. And of course you have to get a Lindt hot chocolate while there!

Anyways, my review is for the museum in Zurich! What a crazy experience! We bought tickets online about a month and a half out and they were surprisingly reasonable. It's a timed entrance so you have to make your best guess. You enter on the second floor where you get squeezed around guided tour groups and just masses and masses of people. The timed tickets apparently do nothing to stem the flow of hyper children and teenagers running amuck. The museum portion was interesting but we were not provided an audio guide nor was there a docent assigned to us. Suddenly chocolate fountains of white, milk and dark came into view and all thoughts of learning chocolate facts went out the window. We grabbed these disposable spoons and felt like Augustus Gloop as we licked the chocolates and then felt like hamsters as we stuck out our palms to receive the bits of chocolate dispensed out of tubes. Nothing was labeled but each tube dispensed a different flavor of chocolate! At the very end of the tour, we were given 1 of each flavor of the Lindor truffle balls! There was even a cute interactive part outside the museum where if you scan your ticket, you watch a Rube Goldberg machine transfer a ball into a piece of wrapped chocolate into your hand! I would've enjoyed this more had not this feral little boy behind us not screamed and clutched at people because he could not wait his turn. The shop was pretty expensive and I could not tell the difference between Lindt chocolate sold in the US but the tastings were magical. It's my own fault for coming here in peak season but man...the droves of people really dampened the experience for me.

I'd say this is a must visit for a special little gift for someone. Their prices were totally comparable to what you'd expect to pay at similar shops such as Ladurée Paris or other famous treat houses.

Those looking to purchase pink fairy wands and blue hammers may well be disappointed here! In the back room of the store, in addition to board games, puzzles, cards and marbles, I was delighted to find kid-sized cookery tools, wooden fruit and veg, bottles of 'milk' and strings of 'sausages' and a hearty-looking 'ham' or two. My fav would have to be the wooden food already halved but held firmly together with velcro meant to be sliced in two with a wooden knife! Forgoing the knife, I tore open an egg-shaped piece that turned out to be a kiwi fruit! If a 40-something-year-old chick can be so delighted by wooden fruit, then I should certainly hope little-uns would be as well! The best part of my experience at Trottinette would have to have been the gift-wrapping experience. Not only was I asked if the purchases were a gift, but I was also asked if they were a birthday gift or a 'birth' gift, if that makes sense. I guess the distinction would have made a difference in what wrapping paper would have been used. The gal who wrapped up my purchases used lovely paper and bows. The gifts looked stellar!

What…read moredrew me in were the beautiful wooden toy houses in several models, colors and sizes, but once I was in I could see there was so much more! If you dread the current selection available at most toy stores, with all the plastic, loud sounds and battery operated garbage, you will find the selection available at Trottinette most refreshing. I was on my own, and I hadn't planned on doing any toy shopping (nor do I on most days, I tend to go for shoes and accessories... for myself), but this place... I literally had to fight the urge to sit on the floor and start playing, which is somewhat embarrassing to admit, but might give you an idea. I didn't know if I had landed in Wonderland or in Santa's workshop: all the beautiful wooden and fabric toys, clearly handmade... beautiful. If you know a little girl or boy who might like a toy house, this is without a doubt the best place to get it; it won't be cheap, but it will last for ages and it will be something they will keep coming back to, not get bored of quickly. There are tons of accessories and characters of all sorts for doll houses, and there are cars, wooden kitchens and food markets, musical instruments, drawing sets, beautiful pop-up books... If you have to shop for a child, you will definitely find something here. One caveat: it might take you a lot longer to get your shopping done, because you will find yourself sticking around for a while, browsing and tryoung out some of the merchandise - I dare you not to!

Chocolate? Key Chain? Fluffy? and even a Swiss Army Knives. Nothing really "special" but good enough quality to make the recipients be happy. If you want to get the limited edition knives though, you won't find it here. Mission completed and able to spend all my coins and even some more!
