However, I can only give three stars because it's one of the noisiest libraries I've been in. The librarians hold conversations (not just about books) with patrons at full volume. Constantly. And patrons seem to take the cue as well--loud talking and laughing. We're grateful for the library but would have appreciated more quiet.

Vacationing in an Airbnb with my family, my husband became unresponsive and stopped breathing from time to time. We called 911 and even being in East Verde Estate, just outside of Payson, they responded quickly. They were very comforting, professional, and knowledgeable. They took my husband to Payson's Hospital. I want to thank them ALL from the bottom of my whole family's heart. This is our trip into town from our home in the Secluded Rim Country…read more Payson has a quality of life and a beautiful and Historic Western Character born from its beginnings when Rodeo's were held in the middle of Old Main St. Payson is the home of the Longest continuous Rodeo in the World!! The town has stores ranging from Antique stores to Major Grocery chains and everything in between. It also boasts many great restaurants and a regional Airport. At an elevation of 5,000 Ft ASL and is surrounded by the Tonto National Forest which was built amongst the Largest stand of Ponderosa Pines in the Southwest adding to its High Country Character. We visit frequently for the Local Walmart or Safeway to restock our home or to Enjoy lunch when we are out shopping. Payson also has a Banner Medical Center and Helipad when needed to transport patients to a valley hospital for more urgent needs. We love the town of Payson and its residents!!

We've been here countless times and enjoy the 20-degree cooler temperature in the summer. Payson offers a great climate and landscape, tall pines, and 4 moderate seasons. Beautiful scenery, including Mogollon Rim and lots of wildlife. We've seen everything from elk, deer, cows, coatimundi, birds, and wild turkeys.
