Let's go back to this morning: went in a few hours ago to get labels for a certified mail envelope, none were available in the outer lobby, none were in the inner lobby either. Had to flag down someone working in the back to get them, but WHY aren't they out and available??? Came back a few hours later with my envelope ready to go, and the only reason why I was sending it certified is because I don't trust them to actually get it there, all 3.8 miles of the envelope's journey. Sent a text to a friend so I would know what time I arrived, and when I finally made it to the counter, it was 13 minutes later. I have many questions, but the main one - and it is probably shared with everyone in line ahead and behind me - is why is there only ONE PERSON WORKING?? Why?? The APC machine has been out of service for over a week, so anyone needing that is also forced to wait in the hell known as the S. Fern PO. The final kick in the ass was paying $8.20 to send something that I was afraid they would lose/otherwise f**k up.

At best, she'd sit behind her cluttered counter and not say a single word in response to greetings, requests, etc. - but at least you'd get what you needed. At worst, she'd scream at you. So I was so happy when I had to stop in this week to find her gone (hopefully fired, or at least moved into a non-customer facing role), and replaced with Cece, who was friendly and helpful. I'm somewhat shocked that USPS apparently finally responded to the complaints people have been making about this location for years, but am very happy to be able to use my neighborhood post office again.

This place is really great if you live or work in Rosslyn. It's very conveniently located in the…read moremetro mall and also is a small giftshop in case you need to buy and mail a last-minute gift. They sell all types of cards, generic gifts (like coffee mugs, DC sports hats, etc.) as well as chocolates. It's a full service USPS and has everything a normal post office would. In addition, the woman who works there (she's there most days, if not every day) is super nice -- she even offered me advice on a less expensive way to ship my package once!
