Customer service needs significant improvement. The two clerks were not frendly nor welcoming to customers, sort of passive aggressive and reprimanding in their tone. Lacking pleasantries. If something was not filled out correctly, they displayed their impatience. Luckily, what I needed was straight forward so the interaction was minimal. However, while I was in the line waiting for my turn, I observed how they treated customers and it made my stomach churn. I would not recommend visiting this post office. read more

Poor "customer" service. African American clerk on Saturday was too lazy to help with zip code for my parcel and told me to get out of line so that he could assist "customers". I reminded him that I was a customs too and it only took a minute to locate the proper zip code and since he was too lazy to do that he could wait while I googled it. This post office can be very frustrating and unreliable. I went out of my way to ship a prepaid, QR code-labeled package using the self-service kiosk, but the machine wasn't working. On top of that, the post office has inconsistent hours. Although it's supposed to close at 5 p.m., it often closes much earlier--or isn't open at all on random weekdays that aren't holidays. I've had decent experiences here in the past, but it feels like this location has gone downhill. read more

One thing I do not like is how the usps will scan packages stating they are delivered when they know full well the employee hasn't delivered the package! This is what tracking is for when people your customers pay for such it's supposed to be actually delivered. Stop lying about this. I've had missing packages for days and the postal worker has scanned delivered this means when I call the supplier tell them I don't have it they look and say umm no it was. Great people working there. Darryl was helpful and one can tell that he knows the regulars by name. The location doesn't really have parking so you may need to park and walk but after most experiences at a post office it is certainly worth it. Completely indifferent to customers. Left two large lines with nobody at any counters for 10 min. After waiting in the line, they didn't bother to tell anyone their passport camera was broken, sent everyone back to CVS, and then came back and did the whole thing again. On the positive side at this location, the postal clerk at the front counter, very pleasant, very helpful tried to keep the line moving. It was just one person, and there were seven people in line and she was answering passport questions as well. So I give that person credit for trying to keep the line moving. On the negative side the automated system out front where you can just buy stamps was not working to dispense stamps. Please get that fixed I would've had a much shorter time span inside the post office and I would've been a five-star. Happy customer. read more

A few Xmas's ago a friend told me he had sent me a package, had tracked it, and it had just, that day, been delivered to my PO Box (I rented a LARGE PO box there). I went the next day - justone day after it had been delivered, and it was NOT in my PO Box. The self-styled "manager" there, a little woman, was rude and said "Normally We send it back by this time!" (ONE day after it was delivered???) She took her sweet time looking for it in the back and finally presented me with the package-- it was small enough that SIX of them could have fit in my PO Box!!! Why such rudeness and Inefficiency!? I did the only thing I could have done because of her actions -- I IMMEDIATELY canceled my PO Box subscription. read more

Large USPS with lots of different services offered here. They have a machine where you can mail out letters and weight packages without waiting in line. They also sell all sorts of mailing stuff. They also have lockers which I assume is for people who need to pick up items and get things shipped to the lockers instead of their houses. The place is usually popular haha, long lines sometimes (unless during very odd times). Lots of parking in the lot and easy to get to. Friendly staff always there to help with what you need. read more

I have lived in so. Arlington my entire life (75 years). The mail delivery service is, and always has been, terrible. Informed delivery wasn't a very smart move. I would call the post office and tell the manager that I haven't had any mail delivered for 3 days. He would always say, "Maybe you just didn't have any mail." He can't say that now. I was supposed to get a credit card in the mail last Friday. I'm still waiting. Hopefully the person who received it doesn't activate it. I called the post office today a dozen times to tell them about my credit card. Each time, the phone rang for 4 minutes, then I was disconnected. Tell me again how important my phone call is. I am supposed to get 9 pieces of mail today. So far, nothing. People today do the least amount of work. Just enough to pick up a paycheck. That's really sad. The only reason I am giving you 1 star is because the system won't let me give none. read more

Every service here, from mailing a package to applying for a passport is made ten time more difficult by the snotty, lazy attitudes of the workers, to say nothing of the disgusting interior. Although I've never had an issue with any of the workers, the lines often move so slow. Even with a whole parking lot, it is always full and difficult to find a spot. I suspect because of slow service that the lot is always full. When I do get in line, it can take anywhere from 10-20 minutes just to get through. I MUST WRITE AGAIN!! Multiple reviews for the same post office - A POST OFFICE!!! It is ridiculous, I realize, but I feel I must update so "the world" knows of the latest developments! :) So, for MONTHS, as in, I think 9 months, the big mailbox that should accept packages was broken. They had it haphazardly taped shut with a note on it "apologizing" for it not working. For. 9. Months. They claimed "one part" was needed, and they couldn't get it. For. 9. Months. We left on vacation. We came back to... Drum roll...... A BRAND NEW BOX!!!! Did they wait for 9 months for the "1 part", then finally give up, cut the old box out of the wall, and install a new one????????? If so, one must wonder, why did they not resort to that 7 months earlier? Oh, and get this, the new box is not installed correctly! :) It will not open/close easily because it in put into the wall SLANTED. This means, of course, that it will break before too long. But wait - perhaps it will NOT break... "Why?" you must be wondering with baited breath. BECAUSE THE LITTLE MACHINE THAT YOU USE TO SELF-WEIGH AND STAMP MAIL/PACKAGES BEFORE YOU PUT THEM IN THE RECEPTACLE IS NOW - BROOOOKEN! Isn't it classic??? They finally fix the receptacle, and now the self-service machine itself is out of order. One thing that remains consistent as the lack of quality customer service. This place I frequent pretty often since I make to sell jewelry and I have to send it off to buyers. The people here tend to be pretty incompetent one particular man that I always run into comes to mind more often than the others. Why he still exists at this post office is very questionable to me. Generally it is not that busy. I can get in and get out within 10 minutes tops on most days when they've got their stuff together... it could be less time if they weren't piddling along...and this is 10 minutes with me being the only one they're serving. It is like a death sentence for my packages when I see that they have been tendered to this post office for local delivery. Your mail carrier is someone you should be able to trust to get things where they are needed to be and are expected. I've had several occasions now where packages have ended up delayed or lost because they were transferred to this office for final delivery. This has NEVER happened to me before anywhere else I've lived. A post carrier should NOT be able to scan something as delivered if it hasn't! In what other service area is that acceptable: to say you did something, when you haven't done it? It's a special kind of hell waiting for packages to be delivered and it's only salt on my wounds when the tracking says my item was delivered but not a box or slip to be seen anywhere. Isolated incidents are acceptable, but it seems to be a recurring issues for the carriers that deliver out of this office. Senders beware! If I had a choice, I would never depend on this office for anything remotely important to be delivered or received. I've tried calling to endless rings, hang-ups, and busy tones. You'd be hard pressed to find post office more poorly managed than this location. They lose packages and misdeliver mail routinely, will scan a package as "delivered" only to have it show up days later and have trouble finding anything you have held at the office for pick up. The employees are always curt and on the brink of exacerbation, so it doesn't take much for them to lose their patience and there's always a wait even if there are only two or three customers inside. The worst though is recently I needed to buy a single stamp with an appropriate design for a sympathy card and all they could offer me was a Paul Newman, Elvis Presley, Ingrid Bergman or "1963 March on Washington" civil rights stamp. They insisted they couldn't even sell me a single flag Forever Stamp without selling me a whole book. What post office is incapable of selling you a stamp? read more

Nope. Go somewhere else. I had to return something with a prepaid shipping label but I needed to tape up the box and tape the label to it. I noticed at the table next to the line that there was a roll of tape that said "Priority Mail" next to it and figured it was okay just to use as tape. When I got up to the register the cashier made me remove the tape and then when I asked if they had plain, blank tape he pointed to the rolls of tape that I needed to buy for $4/roll. How about no? I didn't need an entire roll of tape I just needed enough to tape my box shut. Then when I asked if they could just tape it up for me he declined and said they are simply a mailing service (UPS tapes up my returns for me all the time without any problem). At that point I was frustrated and embarrassed as a line was starting to form around me so I said I would just come back another day. The service is not swift whatsoever. I think they may all be half asleep. No wonder there is a line even at 2pm on a Thursday afternoon... Just go to UPS. I give up on USPS even with their efforts to make it better. read more

One of the worst post offices in America. Filthy, dingy, shabby, always a line, slow service. Forget about them holding your mail -- it gets delivered while you're away. (Ask me how I know.) And now that I've moved out of state, I'm still waiting for forwarded mail to show up two weeks after the forwarding date. And just to compare: Went to my new post office today to buy stamps. 12/05/19: Call and get placed on extended hold. Staff member Lya promised to call back after searching for my missing package - she NEVER called. Spoke with the manager, Mark C., who apologized for Lya not calling me back and he promised he would call me back after looking into my package- never did! I see the example set for why Lya never called. You call anytime after 4 PM - don't expect someone to answer. You will have to call several times before someone picks up. 12/11/19: Called about mail handler not picking up outgoing mail. Informed its not the same person but we"ll let them know. **Let them know!** It is not hard - the red flag is up and mail is in the box to go out --- take it with you! Worst of the worst! This place is full of irresponsible liars from top to bottom ... Other than million complaints, here is what happens every time ... You get your package note saying "sorry we missed you whatever..." But not the actual package and when you call and inquire about it they never assist. And they lie about everything of the unsuccessful package delivery ... Even when you say I've been home all-day waiting they tell you in your face that "our driver says your door was knocked enough and nobody was there!!!" They also never care the customer, customers packages ... They toss, drag and in tern you end up receiving broke opened packages when you yourself went pick it up! I frequently need to go to the post office. I typically go to this post office because it's the closest that has a good sized parking lot where you don't have to pay to park. It used to be convenient! Over the last six months, the parking lot is consistently full, all day long ( no where to park). Also, lines inside will be long with only one person working. There are three registers plus the passport window. On more than one occasion now, I've seen another post office personnel simply standing at the front "observing" the long line, while one worker is handling all customers. One time, a customer had literally over thirty packages to weigh and mail. You would think they would open up another register. Nope. The other worker just stood there. Today, similar situation. Had to circle around until a parking space became available, then wait in line inside because the customer being handled had a complicated issue and only that one window was open to accept customers. The other worker that was standing around simply hit the bell to see if someone else might come out to open a second register. Nope. She continued to stand there leaning on the desk with her chin in hand. I called the PO when I returned home. Was given the explanation that there is no parking because the employee parking in the back is under reconstruction with no idea of when construction is expected to finish. Also, the explanation for why the worker standing around and didn't open another register was because she didn't have the hand held device for scanning packages b/c of COVID. What? I have now placed a formal complaint online. Parking in front should be for customers. No excuse for not handling long lines when there are able bodies to work. Unacceptable. read more

This post office is not air conditioned. The staff here is incredibly slow and rude - but then again, I would probably also be grumpy and unproductive at my job if I had to work in the sweltering heat all summer long! There is always a line, and it is never a pleasant one to stand in. Worse, when I got my passport here, they refused to accept a learner's permit as a valid state ID, forcing me to pay $1 to make a photocopy of my passport instead. I checked on the State Department's website later, and they were supposed to have accepted a valid Virginia learner's permit. Two stars only for the fact that everything I've ever mailed here has, to my knowledge, actually been delivered. Frankly, if I were the Postmaster General, I'd shut this post office down - or at least send them a few electric fans. read more

My experience at the post office on Glebe (close to Columbia Pike) was good. There's one way in and out with plenty of parking available that day. When I first walked in I noticed the short line at the self service kiosk and the long line at the in-person counter. Before I could wait in the long line a Post Office worker asked if I was mailing domestic or international and method of payment. After mentioning the location and payment method he recommended I use the self service machine. The self service kiosk line had only two people. Average time per person was 3 to 5 minutes. I must of spent 5 minutes at the self kiosk since I had package. Overall not a complicated UI process. I actually think there should be two self kiosks in each post office; however, not at the expense of our hard working USPS workers! read more

This is an aggregation of all my visits to this post office. My most recent visit was the best. I was hoping to buy some 2015 Cherry Blossom stamps. Even though it was during the lunch hour, the woman behind the desk was very patient with me and willing to search for stamps in adjoining workstations. I left with two pages of cherry blossom stamps and one page of waterlilly stamps. I have had more negative experiences in the past where the employees have been rude but this visit was pleasant. read more

This place Is SLOW!!!! Like turtle slow. They always only have one super slow cashier helper at the desk doing everything while everyone else is in the back slacking off making jokes. If the only one helping is busy she will send you to the side door to endlessly ring the broken doorbell. I was ringing and the door window was open so I got someone's attention, they looked at me and imediately acted like they hadn't seen me even tho our eyes met. This will enrage anyone who is there even if they aren't in hurry this place will win at making you crazy mad. This place should get 0 stars! Terrible service!!!!! read more

I am SO sick of this post office mis-delivering my packages. How difficult is it to read an address and deliver it to the correct address? My TODDLER can do it! They've done it 6 times in the last few months. Completely unacceptable. No one seems to be able to help locate them inspite of the technology involved. I simply have to wait and hope they show up. Ridiculous. I use this post office many times a week for my online business and the only reason I gave them 2 stars is the ladies behind the counter are fast and efficient.
