They are delivering Amazon packages though! I did catch the USPS out delivering the Amazon packages and he said they were literally dumped with pallets of packages from Amazon. Perhaps Amazon needs to pay a subsidy during the holiday season so the USPS can hire the additional hands needed? Or Amazon should consider a presence here in Bend! This is all affecting the small online business I am attempting to operate here in Bend. I still have 2 packages that were hand carried to the USPS at 97701 on 12/9/2025 and as of 12.13.2025, they have yet to be scanned for tracking by my customers. We have no way of knowing where they are. Customers are paying $5.50 for the USPS service and this is not the service they expect to receive.

I stopped by today to express some concerns about the quality of my delivery service at both my home and work addresses. After speaking with Lance, I came away feeling like my problems were important to him and that they would be addressed. This is a busy place and I've often felt bad for the folks at the window who, from time-to-time, have to deal with frustrated customers through no fault of their own. It's never struck me as an easy job to work there. I always try to keep that in mind while I'm waiting in line.

I have documented every time it happens and shown them videos and pictures and they just don't care. Today I have to go in to the post office because the postal courier jammed a package in the delivery side of our mailbox and there's no way to open it without cutting the box or completely breaking the rest of the package. The package is a large bottle of supplements for my pregnant wife, which we have no way of accessing. Going to file a complaint and have the post office fix it and if they don't, I'm going to file a police report for vandalism of mailbox and hopefully press charges and get a lawsuit going.

O'Brien might not be the biggest place in the world (they have one flashing yellow light in the middle of town), but this post-office is quite easily the second busiest place it's got. Within my few minutes here, I saw a whole bunch of people come through, chit chat with the postal worker, check their p.o. boxes, and greeted by name. It made me happy to be part of it for that small moment in time. I walked out with my pretty new postage stamps a little more hopeful of what the world could be if we were all just a little more nice and accepting of one another.
