Hands down, this is the worst post office I have ever dealt with. We have had a PO Box here for quite some time, and it is unbelievable how often we check our box daily and receive no mail for three to four days straight, only to have the box suddenly packed full on the fifth day. Clearly, mail is not being processed or distributed in a timely manner. I have also seen many customers leave this facility frustrated and upset. Customer service is consistently poor, and the overall operation feels completely understaffed and disorganized. This location needs serious improvement. Management needs to step in, hire adequate staff, improve professionalism, and ensure mail is handled properly and on time. Right now, this facility is failing the community it is supposed to serve. read more

I always try to use the Post Office in Sterling Virginia even though it is further away than the one on Prentice Drive Dulles as the people in Sterling are friendly and courteous. I made the mistake going to Prentice Drive and came across a rather rude employee Inhae who proceeded to loudly tell me not to write the FROM address the way I have written for years. Then she proceeded to use the meter postage to wrap around my letter in a way Sterling never does. I hope it is delivered. Needs coaching read more

There should be a zero-star option. This is the local post office that services Ashburn, VA, and they are impossible to reach by phone. They advertise three phone numbers -- two roll to full mailboxes, and the third is never answered. Call 703-406-6291, and it says "your call will be answered by the next available agent," but instead it just rings about 10 times and then rolls to a fast busy signal. It should be criminal that you cannot reach them. Instead, you have to call main USPS, request a call back (mine was 45 minutes later), and then they communicate with the local office electronically. This review is for Sara who help us out at our passport appointment. We were getting passports for our 2 small kids and we were late. She graciously helped us thru the process, helped make sure I had everything filled put correctly and took out babies pictures. She was so patient, kind and helpful. The customer service here is terrible. The lady who helped me acted as if I was unconvincing her for showing up during normal business. The only words she muttered during the whole transaction were "next" before she even began to assist me. Good thing I can read and use the transaction terminal to pay the postage or I would have been one sad sack. No total given, no thank you, no nothing. USPS employee Inhae should not be in a customer facing job. Supervisory staff should do their jobs and when they see an employee abusing a customer they should step in. It is ridiculous that we still have to put up with this type of behavior when there are people who want to put an end to the USPS. I needed to return two boxed items today, one via registered mail and one just needed to be dropped off. I handed Inhae the first box and said I needed a receipt. She seemed upset that I asked for one and rudely responded that of course I would get one. I looked on the USPS site regarding registered mail, found the appropriate form, filled it out and took it and my packages to this facility. USPS employee Inhae was very upset at the fact that I boxed my item and said it should be in an envelope. Nope, the vendor requires it be boxed. She said I used the wrong tape and spent a ridiculous amount of time removing little pieces of the tape on the box. She spent a bizarre amount of time retaping my package. She was very angry that I didn't walk in with a preprinted label. Nothing on the USPS site said I needed to do any of this. During this time she was regularly raising her voice at me. She told me to write the addresses on the box, which I did, and that seemed to make her mad. It was also very hard to understand her and she talks very fast. When I didn't understand her, that made her more mad and she raised her voice at me. At different points I needed to press print on the payment screen but I didn't understand her, so she yelled at me. I finally got fed up and told her this is why I go to the UPS store instead of using the USPS. It took forever for her to be satisfied with the taping of my registered mail box. When the charges were tallied up, she had stuck every possible feature on the shipment so it was more expensive. It was useless trying to tell to remove some of the features. I paid too much. She gave me the receipt for it and tried to wave me on. I reminded her that I needed a receipt for the first box and she went off again. She said the receipt had "disappeared" on her monitor and I let her know I wasn't leaving without a receipt. I eventually got one. Inhae was rude, inappropriately angry, raised her voice at me several times, and was bizarrely inefficient. I will do everything I can to never have to use this USPS facility again. read more

This USPS is very close to my home, but I will drive 2x further to another one if I don't have to deal with these people at the Dulles one. This post office has very rude and disrespectful staff. While the post office was full of people and a long line, I needed to write an address on an envelope, when there was no table space I filled out my envelope at an empty corner and got in lime. Then I was yelled at and humiliated by a postal worker for filling out my envelope at HER post station. There was no one there when I filled it out for 5 mins. Her colleague was equally rude to me and spoke in a degrading tone when asked about liquids and perishables. read more

This post office was very busy. It is obvious they are very understaffed and need help as the lines were long and the wait longer. I can sum it up like this: BEST POST OFFICE IVE EVER BEEN TOO! I hate going to the post office for anything whether it's mailing something or picking up something. However this post office is efficient and friendly. Who thought those words went together talking about the US mail. The lines move quickly since they have more than one carrier working and they are helpful in helping you with packaging and mail insurance. They actually make the post office experience somewhat pleasant. If only every other postal in VA/DC/MD would follow suite! read more

Ive been coming to this post office for a long time now, and I've never encountered any issues. Staff has always been polite, unlike at the post office right near my home. Heather, especially has always been amazing. Very pleasant and good at her job. I've encountered her a few times now and I'm always happy to see her. they're also open until 6 most days which is very convenient. read more

Fast! I went yesterday, the week before Christmas. Expecting it to take an eternity. Although it was crowded, I barely had time to address my package before the next teller was available! And I watched them all give service with a smile! I rarely leave reviews of anyone here, but I had to commend these postal folks for quick, cheerful service. My only complaint: not enough handicapped parking. Just 3 spaces, in a town with a HUGE elderly population. Something to consider, you higher-up bigwigs. read more

ZERO stars! I've never wrote a bad review in my life, but I am so incredibly upset I feel this place deserves one. This post office has the WORST customer service I've ever experienced. My package, which is a stroller/car seat, was last scanned in HERE on July 9th at 12:44pm. My fiancé and I went to this location yesterday (July 25th) after two and a half weeks of still not receiving it and it just sitting at this location. When we arrived the woman managing asked me for my tracking information and my address. When she saw my address, which is Reston, VA, she told me they didn't have the package at this Dulles location it would be in Reston... I said, "you didn't even look or check the tracking information?" She was extremely rude to me and told me she refused to look because she knew it wasn't there. I tried to show her the USPS tracking information from the USPS website itself, showing the exact date and time it was scanned in, saying Dulles was the last place it was scanned and said the package still was and she REFUSED to even look at my information told me she didn't have to look at anything she didn't want to and told me I was wrong! I don't know if it was laziness her neglecting to even try and look up my tracking information to find my package or she just doesn't care at all about her job or she just enjoys being incredibly rude and cruel to people, but I was extremely offended and disappointed. We went to the Reston location she turned us away to and they were much more helpful- they actually took the time to look for our package and they printed out our tracking information that showed Dulles was the last place the package was. They said Dulles definitely has it and to file a claim with customer affairs and start an investigation to find our package since Dulles refused to even look for our package that we know is there. I have left 3 voicemails with USPS customer affairs. Praying to get an answer from someone. My baby is due to be born! Having my car seat is extremely important and time sensitive. SO DISAPPOINTED with USPS especially the Dulles distribution location! Seeing other reviews, I can see I'm not the only one! I definitely plan of pursuing this issue. Their very unprofessional neglect is now affecting my family on refusing to help us find our time sensitive package and that's just unacceptable. !Update! I JUST now (Aug 28th, 2017) received an email (OVER ONE MONTH LATER) from USPS saying they received my search request... ONE MONTH since I told them the package mysteriously disappeared in their hands after already missing for 3 weeks. It originally was set to arrive July 9th... It's now August 28th... Seems like they are super concerned in finding it. I also received ZERO responses from the customer affairs and left multiple messages on multiple voicemails for them. WORST POSTAL SERVICE AND CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. They seriously just don't care at all if something goes missing. If you can avoid going through them, please do. You'll never receive your items and certainly won't receive them in time and the people at the distribution center in Dulles will just blame you and the company you purchased your items from/original sender and not even bother looking. This is the main distribution center, so you can drop your express package at 17:00 and it will still arrive next day. I think they are a bit understaffed because you always have to wait. The people working there are nice and very patient with people that don't understand the USPS rules (I don't envy them), but that is holding up the line, I think they should have one extra window for all the problem cases. read more

I have never been treated so rudely by a PO employee as I was here at 44715 Prentice Dr in Sterling, VA by Inhae. I went to this distribution center to mail 68 memorial books dedicated to a dear friend who died. Inhae, with a nasty, condescending attitude told me I could not do that; they could only accept 10 pieces of mail. She works at a distribution center for God's sake. They all had priority postage labels already on them. I told her I was not going to tolerate her attitude and asked for someone charge. She continued to attempt to lecture me until I got assertive and told her to get someone in charge. Singh helped us and scanned everything in as should have happened the first time. I was looking forward to a positive experience. It was AWFUL. This woman needs to be fired and not allowed to subject people who are already in pain to more.No excuse will do. No wonder the USPS has such an awful reputation. I only hope that when Inhae experiences the death of a loved one, and she will because, she is human (although based on her lack of empathy, I question even that) that she be treated like she treated us. Unfortunately I work for a direct mailer, so I have no choice but to come here. That said, if I could choose, I wouldn't choose this branch. I literally stand around almost every time, whether it's dead or not and have to wait for a clerk to even notice I'm there before they take as long as is humanly possible to write down a simple weight. I just discovered this post office since I work in the office park and I really must say, it's amazing. The location is kind of hidden so that means a lot less traffic and no long lines! The women working there are SO nice and helpful and they get you out of there in no time. It's a lot better than the Ashburn location-- you could wait forever in that place! read more

When I started taping a box my way (since there is no standard way of taping it), the lady comes up and says "stop, thats not the way to do it." Her thick Asian accent is hard to understand. This PO is the best kept secret. Easy parking, short lines, if at all with polite staff.

i cannot believe that i am on here rating a post office! but here goes...as part of my business (paperzest.com), we mail wedding invitations for clients. a lot of invitations. that all need to be hand cancelled. the ladies at this branch (the main dulles facility on prentice drive over by AOL) are seriously fabulous. they are always pleasant, and always helpful. they are never in a bad mood. they make me never want to go to another post office! the best part is that they are open until 7pm during the week. and you can drop mail off there until 8pm as well - even on saturdays. so thumbs up for this post office! read more
