I had been to the nearby Coulee Dam and Grand Coulee, which aren't big, but I could at least stay the night there. Anyway, about the post office, it's really small but generally cute for this small town. There is no APC, just old brick and mortar postal customer service and 24 hour post office access. One more post office to cross off my list. I'll never forget it.

I've only been to the Bellevue and Redmond Post Offices here, and I was very very disappointed with the Redmond Post Office. The location itself isn't TOO bad, but it is a little out of the way. There's ample parking places, but quite a few spots are occupied when you show up. The customer service are itself has been crazy both times I've visited. I have visited at noon and at 2 p.m. and both times there was only one employee and a line of people almost going out the door. Once you get through the 20 minute line, the employees aren't particularly friendly. The people I've interacted with came off as rude and a little condescending. After two consecutive negative experiences, I don't plan on returning to this location unless I absolutely have to.

Service on my visit was highly competent and friendly. Finding the entrance was tricky because there wasn't any outside signage that I'm aware of. You can go through the revolving door on the SW corner of the building then take the first right as you step inside. Or, go in the east entrance through a courtyard wedged between this building and the federal courthouse. Really cool area. Stunning early morning light. Epic architecture that shows off a level of grandeur and sophistication not typically associated with downtown Spokane.

I decided to stop here really early in the morning since I stayed in the area overnight due to my…read moretravels. I will say that if you can get up early to see the sun rise up over the dam, it really is beautiful. Then drive up the hill to Grand Coulee to start your day and check your mail. This office is right across from the Safeway and there is parking on the street and not a lot of it though. This seems to be a somewhat small town so they probably don't need that much parking anyway. The post office boxes are old looking and the general office and service counter look like they need some updating, but again this is a small town with people who have probably lived here their whole life so a change may not be needed or in store for quite some time. Overall it's a nice office and the outer structure and rock work is cool and well kept too. I got here on a Sunday really early in the morning so I can't comment on the workers.

We ordered some larger things, though not heavy, on Amazon for my son's 2nd Birthday and they were due to arrive today. We got an email stating that they couldn't be delivered because "the mail box was full". The items we ordered wouldn't ever fit in any mail box, full or not. This was just pure laziness and the worker didn't want to get up off their government-paid butt to deliver my package. This is not the first time this has happened! My mailbox is completely plowed and clear. My road is clear and safe to drive. Amazon had delivered earlier in the day as well as FedEx, but only USPS couldn't get to the box? What a joke. This is the second time I have gotten a BS excuse. The last time "my box was full" when both my mailbox and package box were empty. Upon the second delivery attempt, I got another lame excuse and was told I had to go pick up my package from the Colville office. Something seriously needs to change with how this establishment is ran. I sincerely hope whoever is in charge puts the pipe down and gets shit together.

This postal location is very quaint. Deer Park seems small but this office is relatively large...or…read moremaybe it's just because the parking lot is so big. Anyway, the people that work here are very friendly and knowledgeable. I had some questions about international postage and rather than give my the run-around, the lady that helped me provided me with options on mailing internationally so that I didn't break the bank. They also have a lot of stamp options if you're a collector of just want to use something a little different than the forever stamp. So check it out! There was not an automated postal center when I went, but I was able to find one at one of the Spokane Valley locations (the one on E Sprague Ave). I will probably never be in this area again but it was a great experience stopping at this post office in my journeys around the Spokane area and Deer Park.
