The staff has gotten nicer (thank God that one lady retired), although most of the older staff and those who have been there the longest still do not smile or seem to want to help you when they come from the back or you ring the bell for service. Otherwise, horrible. I have lost so many packages at this point and so many have shown up months later that I do not even know where they put them. Several times I have had to help them find my items in lockers because they did not give the key. All the mail is supposed to be out by 11:30am as stated on their website and most days the mail does not enter my box until close to 3 or 4 or closing. This is a huge nuisance on weekends when you need to collect your mail upfront. Why tell someone to collect after you close? They are either overwhelmed and unable to process in appropriate time here, or they are understaffed. Communication also seems to be an issue. I have been told several times by workers that they are behind that day, but it seems to be every day even non-holiday rushes. There is always a line of people no matter the time of day I go. Wages are displayed for city workers, and we all know they make enough to warrant a smile or do their basic job. Please have the mail delivered as promised and be kind and do what you are paid well to do. This is being added to the other plethora of 1-Star reviews for them sadly.

5/27/24 Finally! I get to mail a postcard to Germany, straight from Solvang, California…read more It's closed today & I thought it would be completely closed. I was actually able to go in to mail it inside. The doors were open for post office boxes owners to be able to get their mail/small packages. It's clean. It is surprisingly larger than I thought it would be. This was a very quick pit stop and I'm glad that I was able to mail it from Solvang to make it to Germany.

They help every person and are super helpful and kind to those in need while maintaining a very professional and reasonable demeanor while working very hard in one of the most high stress environments. I have worked a lot with Ellinore, Andrew and Gabe at the front service desk and they have always been willing to help to resolve any issues I have had. It seems that no matter who you talk to, answers are hard to come by. You get pawned off on other employees, told everything is fine, get referred to a phone number that is only automated and leads no where, and even get your grievance summarily dismissed with NO REASON given, via email. However, in the last 6…read moremonths or so they've started putting these horrible plug-in fragrances in the store and it's like I have to wear a mask to go in and it's just disgusting, There's no reason they should have fragrance in there, there's never a bad smell lingering in there....When a place is kept clean bad odors stay away. & I'm there pretty frequently and I've never noticed a bad smell until the fragrance plugins OR fragrance whatever they have in that store. It's so bad you could smell it even when you're walking up to the store, & it follows you when you leave... people with asthma, migraines, And sensitivities Have a really hard time with that plus it gets all over your hair and your clothes. Bad for the lungs for the employees, (& whatever other organs long term exposure affects) as those fragrances didn't come from a field, they are literally toxic chemicals ... that the fragrance companies use in the those those sprays, & Which wont actually affect them till 10 years,15 years from now.
