Does the job, but horrifically inefficient at times. You can't blame the employees for being slow, they are overworked and almost every post office I've been to is heavily understaffed. But you can blame them for being jerks, and that happens more often than it should. The post office is a complicated thing unless you have used it frequently enough to know the ins and outs. The level of frustration provided by the US Postal Service is un-measurable. From top to bottom they find was to screw up. Someone is posting on Facebook the opportunity to support the post office from Trump's wrath, I hate Trump but the postal service sucks so much that now I pay UPS four times the price for a box so I do not have to spend all my days trying to figure out what the post office did with my package. I had a box sent to me on July 20 via Priority Mail. The person who dropped it off in Michigan was promised that it would arrive in two days to me in Los Angeles. After it was scanned at 5:00 pm that day, it was not scanned again for 11 days. Then after that scan at a distribution center in Los Angeles. another 6 days has gone by without a scan. So the box which was supposed to arrive in two days is now over 18 days and multiple calls to the service center has accomplished absolutely nothing but a good chance to waste a bunch of time. Omg! This place was horrible with a capital Horr. The employee(s) hate their lives (location is pretty rough, so I get that) and it's your fault; since you wanna go in there looking for a package of all things. My tracking number said it was at the station. The guy said my package wasn't there, I kindly re-iterated that the website says it's here. He said, Are you going to believe me? Compared to most of my experiences at post offices, this was above and beyond! I went during my lunch break at work which is literally just 2 blocks down 7th Street. So that alone was already pleasant for me. I easily found street parking on the side of this corner post office. There are plenty and no meters too. While it may seem unsafe because it's in the outskirts of Skid Row and it's kind of a run down area, if you go during the daytime (which is pretty much the post office hours), you're completely fine. I walked in and witnessed the most glorious thing - NO LINE. Straight to the front, even though there was only 1 employee behind the counter. Not only was he nice, he was also VERY helpful. Will definitely return for any and all packages that I need to be sent out. Also to buy stamps too! The employee also helped me choose the cheapest shipping option for this package I was trying to mail out. THANKS! read more

Mailed out a bubble wrap envelope with 2 Christmas cards inside heading to Woodville Texas the first week of December thinking they would arrive safely. Sad to say my parents tell me that not only was the bubble wrap envelope opened but the 2 Christmas cards inside as well. They were delivered though. Horrible..sorting, distribution, delivery. Worst Usps for several reasons. Location, staff & customer service. I honestly wish the employees would quit if they hate their job enough to give such trash customer service. I've got to hand it to this location's employees. This is an area you don't want to go at night. Also, you may be asked for change on the way in. That said, I've found the employees helpful and pleasant. It is easy to prejudge this Post Office due to it being in the Down Town L.A. Skid Row / Fashion Dist. area. If you are pleasant, they are pleasant. They also have to deal with many unpleasant people and are likely on edge if they've never seen you before and you have a sour disposition. Even when postal workers are at the desk I've never seen before they reflect the attitude they are given. I'd give it five stars if it was open past 2:00 pm. I don't hold the location or appearance against them. read more

meh.. first couple times I went through was great. free close street parking.. no lines.. seriously ghost town.. last couple times.. screaming pee smelling homeless (?) people.. and cleaning with what smelled like toxic waste.. burned my throat.. seriously couldn't even stand being in the building had to go outside and eventually drive to another location after the tears finally dried from my eyes and I got done dry heaving whatever evil I just took into my lungs. I don't think I'm going back here unless it's a last resort.. just not worth it when you have other options. read more

Scary post office. It's on skid row. I just had this homeless guy screaming at me through my car window. I just blasted the radio and prepared my package before going inside. After a few minutes of me not responding to him, he finally went away. I believe this will be my last trip to this location. I work nearby, but I'll use another location next time. read more

Closes too early for a postal office. Time needs to extend beyond 2:00 pm especially if it is located in the outskirts of downtown Los Angeles. The location of this office can be threatening to individuals that are not accustomed to the surrounding area. The environment of the location does not excuse the early closure of this particular office. It isn't a "dangerous" area until the sun sets and even then I still wouldn't consider it dangerous. Perhaps shady or sketchy might be a better adjective to use. The postal office itself is not clean. The attitude of the employees are astonishing. Sometimes a few strange individuals come inside and it is an interesting event to watch. read more

I wish office was working till 2:00 as it said. I called at 1:00pm but nobody was picking up. I had to drive there from Hollywood. I arrived at 1:50 but the door was already locked. It would be better not to have this USPS office at all. So that your mail will be directed to some other MORE COMPETENT office. This is not USPS office, it is a black hole. read more

This post office seems to be always busy with a very long line. There's barely any clerks working the windows, usually there's two with a long line of customers. The clerks are fairly nice, thorough & knowledgable. The location of this post office is very sketchy, the outside doesn't look clean neither does the inside for that matter. If coming to this location be prepared to wait or come in the mornings to beat the long line. read more

I've walked by this place probably 50 times (don't comment about my life), thought it was abandoned. People pee on this building around 8 every morning. I've witnessed at least two pointless bum fights and have been offered shady black market deals often in front of this place. I was pretty sure this was a junky hobo fix spot with a convenient liquor store localle. So they really mail things here... hmm... I'll go to Little Tokyo. Advice from my neighbor: "You should really be armed if you want to go here for business day or night. Seriously bring a knife or something." read more
