I may not know how the mail system works but I ordered a package from out of the country.. my package was shipped out on Aug 1st and landed in Los Angeles, CA ON Aug 8 which is the day that USPS claimed it should be delivered to me on in Rocklin, CA. My package then moved to another facility in LA, then back to the previous distribution center same day, where it stayed for SEVEN days. With no updated expected delivery date. Then today on the 11th, it goes from Los Angeles, CA (same state as me) to New York.... Why? This I'm sure added extra days to the delivery now. I ordered this package last month and it is now the 11th of this month. This is why I never use USPS for anything important or anything I need quickly. Not sure why it has a lot of negative reviews. I am assuming its from folks who can't get in since its a Federal building. I mean, you can't so just try another post office, life is not that complicated lol. But for people who have access, its excellent. Staff is friendly and literally no lines, so 5 star!!! read more

This Post office location is convenient for me since it's located in the building where I work. It is always clean and well lit. There are hardly ever any lines or a long wait and I'm out within five minutes. They are always fully stocked and have all the boxes or envelopes you need. There is even a gift card stand if you need to purchase last minute gift cards for restaurants or vendors. This office is located in a federal building so do expect to go through a security search. I'm talking the whole airport-esque type of search- metal detectors, items out of your pockets, take off your belts and shoes, etc. Better safe than sorry, right?! *shoulder shrug* It is closed for about an hour during lunch so you should plan your trip accordingly. I understand that may be inconvenient for some people but it's understandable for a location with a small number of employees. Randy is great! He's very personable and has great customer service. Who came up the idea to open a post office located inside a federal building? There's no way to just go there, walk in, to send a certified mail or package as if going to other post offices. I was told by the security there's only one entrance to the building and to get to the post office I had to wait in the line outside of the building which had at least 300 people that were there to take care of all sorts of business in that building. I'm not asking special treatment here and I understand that there's also long lines in every post office, but at least the customers line up there for the same purpose. read more

It's hard to find a good post office in LA but this one for sure will be my goto! Security is so tight at the door which may upset people but if you can look past that then this is one of the cleanest, quickest post offices I have been to in the city. I went to this post office today to try to drop off a package. The man at the front door seized my keys bc I have mace on them and told me that my only option was to IMMEDIATELY take it outside and throw it out, I wasn't allowed in the building. I asked if he could just hold it at the front then, since all I was going to do was drop off an already stamped package. He was very aggressive about no, he cannot hold anything, this is a federal building-- it was like he was escalating it like I brought in stun gun or something. I asked him if he realized that it's important for me (as a petit woman) to have mace walking around downtown, I couldn't throw it out. He was incredibly rude and condescending, and I told him I would leave but he refused to give me back my keys. I understand he was doing his job but there are better ways instead of overtly hostile and rude ways to manage this. It's mace, it's really not a big deal to just nicely hand my keys back to me when I told him I would leave, it's not like I would just run in through the metal detectors, but it was like he was treating me like a criminal or someone who was going to do something dangerous. Come on. I'm a small woman holding my keys walking through downtown to the post office... It seemed like he had a bone to pick with me, and it made me wonder would he have treated a man this way? Would he have treated me differently if I were white? It seemed a case of WMP in a position of "power" they will try to do anything to showcase said "power" instead of being a reasonable human being. I've gone here a few times because it's the closest one to where I live and near my job and I've had two entirely different experiences while having mace on me. The first time was some skinnier build security guards, they made a pantomime mace sign towards each-other because the keys and mace were in my backpack on the lanyard I had. Let me in no biggie which I thought was weird because I saw another post stating they made her leave prior to going in. The next time I went in this buff bald security guard stopped me and told me the same thing he had told the girl. When I brought up that the two men last time had cleared me and allowed me to go to the post office he immediately got more hostile and told me that they were incorrect. He then proceeded to point at a paint bucket key I have on my lanyard (I work as a painter) and questioned me about it like it's something I carried to hurt people with "what is that on your keys" "oh? What do you use that for" If you've seen those things too they're designed in such a weird way they could hardly be considered a threat. I left and didn't come back for a few weeks after that. My brother also dealt with a similar situation for having a small utility box cutter in his wallet (that one I can understand because it's a blade but the box cutter itself is tiny) He was also allowed past previously by the same guys who cleared me and then was confronted by a different man. Lost two of my packages and the tracking was not registered, so there was no way for me to find it. In addition those items were from my online shop so I had to eat the cost on both. A very expensive error on their part. Will never come here again. read more

They do not answer their phones! It's taken me over an hour of repeatedly dialing and still no answer!

The post office itself is fine, except that it closes and is unattended for lunch everyday. I think that is from 1:30 to 2:30pm. However, getting to it is the problem. Security at this Federal building take their job a little too seriously. Seems they are bored, with too much time on their hands, so when someone walks in to drop off mail they make them go through a rigorous and dramatic security check. With that said, go to another post office if you can, I know I will. Maybe if enough people stop going here, the postal service will realize they should provide a post office at another, better location where the barriers to entry don't cost you your entire lunch break! read more

The WORST postal servicr. They have lost SIX of my packages THIS MONTH!!! They never answer their phones and are very unresponsive!!! They should most definitely be out of business. Absolutely HORRIBLE read more
