The process could not have been smoother. I made an appointment with photos for the three of us, filled out & printed all of the forms ahead of time, brought my checkbook and all of the required documents. We arrived shortly before our appointment time and Johnny's service was incredibly friendly and efficient. Everything was easy and we were done within a half an hour. If you make an appointment and arrive prepared, the process is incredibly easy. Johnny was really fantastic and also had a great attitude.

I go to the post office and there are 4 people ahead of me. All I could hear was someone 'crying' and 'whining' that she had to go to lunch at 11:45 AM. I was in a USPS so I wonder who in the world was whining about going to lunch. She ket getting louder and louder that 'she had to go to lunch at 11:45 am' and she was complaining to each person in line about it. Well, turns out it was the Post Master, some middle-aged woman with an accent (strict;y a description so you know who to look out for) crying to each customer about her lunch time. She was trying to shut the doors while people were in line but she couldn't because people were in the middle of a transaction. She was crying about she needed to go to lunch, over and over and over, lunch lunch lunch me and all the customs had to hear. So just letting you know, that is you go to Platekill Post Office, and are lucky enuff to get Clerk 07 (middle age Spanish lady), this is what you're going to have to deal with: you trying to get your Post Office business done while the Post Master (Clerk 07) is not concerned about your Post Office business but that you're making her late for lunch. Now THIS place is a totally different story!!! I've never waited on line with more than a few other people and that line has always moved quickly. The people at the counter are always friendly and helpful to an extent that is startling based on my past PO experiences. You need to do something weird with an address change? They write down the name of the gentleman to talk to and give you the address of his office and wish you luck. You can't beat that. I don't see the Mansion st office on here to review but that's even better! Seriously I want to hang out in there. Everyone is so friendly and helpful there and the building is one of those epic WPA post offices where you can't stop touching all the beautiful marble. Come to think of it our postal delivery people have always been wonderful as well. Who knows what the Poughkeepsie post office is pumping into the air to keep their staff so friendly and helpful but keep it going!!
