The clerks are very serious about credit cards--yours has to be signed or they won't take it. Kind of a pointless rule since you can sign it on the spot and suddenly it's valid. One clerk asked me for two forms of ID since my card wasn't signed--seriously? Is there that much credit card fraud at post offices? Oh well--no other choice here unless you want to go to the next town over!

This office is a but inconsistent. One of the postal cashiers is relatively new (as compared to the…read moreothers) and she can be extremely pleasant one day and as blah and irritated the next! She does not smile and most frequently is terse, acting as though she cannot get away from you. She chomps on her gum and does not offer different means of shipping or ways to cut the cost of said shipping. When I had gotten my mother's mail, I realized that I had misplaced my mom's key. I searched my car and realized that I must have left it at the post office. When I went back and asked if I had left the key there, she looked around and sarcastically asked if I had looked for it!(???) I told her that I had looked quite thoroughly for the key and I knew that I had left it there. The woman gave a big sigh and aggressively asked me if I knew it was in the mailbox or not. I said that I had not seen it there, just as I was looking at the open door of the box and there it was! I apologized to the woman and went on my way. The lobby of this office is always clean, but the inner customer service area could be called clean but nearly as good as the outer part. The floors are dusty around the edges and dull as can be. There is a layer of dust on the window ledges and it just does not smell clean overall. The peg board of assorted postal items is located off in a corner in a way that just is not easily accessible. They are definitely out of the way! This office rather crowded if there are 3 or more people in line. It does not seem that they really care.

(Yet the post office was established in 1797 and then moved to this building.) I love the majestic columns and the impressive facade. Inside is full of vintage accents, the brass mailboxes, the tile floor, the marble steps, the carved wooden panels and doors! Gorgeous! Not only is this post office beautiful, but it's efficient, has friendly service and impeccably pristine! It's well stocked with plenty of mailing supplies and has a greeting card kiosk. Told me i would have to come back the next day, handed me the cards to fill out, and provided no explaination on how it works. Rushed other 3 customers through, then told the last one to use the self-serve kiosk, and lowered the door with 2 minutes left until close. Terrible service! Me and the last customer received a tip to go to Mail & Copy Plus, which provided us both excellent service. Do yourself a favor, take your special mailings / packages anywhere but the Murrysville Post Office!

This is the second time I have had a problem with the delivery guys kicking over and breaking my…read morepathway lights. They are clearly noticable, even during the day. I have packages delivered from USPS and UPS all the time and not once have I had this issue with either of them. Only the Fed Ex drivers break them and leave them laying on my lawn.
