I wasn't sure I would find a local phone number for any local post offices in Barnstable, because USPS wants all the calls directed to their 800 number, which normally is not very helpful for me since all they actually see is the same tracking I am able to see. Yet, I decided to look for a local number online and I was able to find the one for this particular location in Barnstable. Right away, I was able to speak to a lovely woman named Shirley and after looking through a few packages she was able to find mine and let me know that it was a barcode error and that she would be sending the package directly back to me instead of having to wait for it to be processed once again in Providence, where it had already been over three days ago. What a relief! Not only was I lucky enough to call the correct post office in Barnstable, but I reached someone who was so happy to help me. I am truly grateful!

Been a PO box holder in town for 60 years +. And treated like a dog. Mind boggling. USPS sucks. Just called the number at Dennis locale where supposedly the Postmaster resides. Recently I had to travel out of state to care for my sister in hospice and had put a stop mail order in, specifying that mail be held until I personally pick it up on Thurs 3/3. After a 10 hour journey home I hurried to this branch to p/u only to be told they don't have any mail held for me and have no idea if it was all delivered or where it could be! I was treated like I was imposing on them by even questioning them. They are consistently rude, slow, unconcerned, uninformative and unwilling to give any information or service. I have spoken to them several times about problems with mail only to be told to have the condo assoc buy new mailboxes. How in the world will that improve their service?? I had something I had to send overseas and was turned down the first visit ( because they said it was closing time) even tho they didn't for another 20 minutes! On my second visit I was given a paper to fill out and told to come back. Third visit I was told I didn't need the custom paper and had to start over! There is one woman there who acts so exasperated when you walk in, and so unwilling to help you navigate rates, options, delivery times that you want to leap over the counter and do it yourself! They need a trained new staff there...people who actually take an interest in their chosen job and perform the duties!!! horrible experiences there minus 20 stars rating if there was such a thing
