With that being said, I have to say the experience was still fantastic. Susan at the front desk scheduled my appointment and called to confirm the day before. Lucille did the initial doppler scan. She was really nice and explained everything that she was doing and made sure to let me know that nothing emergent was going on with my legs. I then met with Dr. Friedman. He's a kind and soft spoken man, but straight to the point. He recommended compression stockings, a sequential circulator that would help push the fluids out of my legs and also recommended a laser procedure to close a vein that was not functioning well. Franca quickly took care of getting authorization and scheduling the laser procedure as well as confirming the appointment the night before. The procedure itself only took about half an hour and was virtually painless. Linda expertly handled the doppler scan as Dr. Friedman accessed the proper vein for the laser treatment. Lucille was there to assist as well as Sue. Once we were done, Sue cleaned me up and got me into the compression stocking. (No easy feat I can assure you!!) From beginning to end, the process was handled with ease by the staff of Lake Success Vascular. I was so impressed that I ordered them lunch as a thank you!! I'm happy to report that the procedure was a success and the swelling has decreased quite a bit!! An experience like this is always a no brainer for a wonderful review. Dr. Friedman said they were vericose veins coming to the top near the skin because Im standing for so long on my feet in addition to all the weight I'm carrying with my gun belt and my vest. He had suggested getting laser treatment which is not as bad as it sounds. I came in yesterday to the ProHealth building at Marcus Avenue. They checked my temperature at front due to Covid-19. The entire office was extremely helpful and put my mind at ease about the surgery. The office followed all COVID-19 protocol. Linda, Lucille, and both Susan's made sure everything was taken care of. Thank you Susan at front desk for having such a great sense of humor. The actual surgery lasted about 25 minutes and Dr.Friedman talked me through the prepping of the leg all the way through till the end. At one point, he said we are almost done. I was talking out loud and I said "Sweet". He replied and laughed and said "Yes it is pretty sweet were almost done". I'm thoroughly impressed with the whole experience I had with Dr. Friedman's office. Thank you for making me feel at home during such a difficult time with this COVID-19 pandemic. I was at Elmhust hospital in Queens first and they did not want to operate on me because it was too much of a high risk surgery and they sent me home and hoped for the best. Dr Rochman performed surgery on me at St. Joseph Hospital in Bethpage Long Island, NY, he operated on me three times to save my life and he never gave up on me, even when the hospital decided I should go to hospice, he still insisted I can be saved and he did save my life. Everybody at St. Joseph's who knew about my case will say that Dr. Rochman saved your life and he would not give up on you. They say Dr. Rockman did what other surgeons were scared of doing, he operated on me and even when the recovery was very difficult he knew he could save me and he did it. He operated on me a total of six times, he preformed a jejunostomy proximal, jejunostomy distance, illeonostomy and colostomy, I had four tubes attached to my abdominal are all at once , I was relaly very sick, one by one He closed the ostomies and the las one was the colostomy that took little over a year to be closed. Dr. Rochman didn't even charge for the last two surgeries. This person is the best and kindest and caring human that God has placed on this earth, right now my eye are tearing for the gratitude to him. I had to suffer unimaginable pain with only 12 hour INJECTIONS of dilaudid. 3 months later, I was still in agony and had sciatica. Another MRI showed the compressed nerve had gotten worse. He said he " NEVER SAW IT". No one acknowledged the mistake.(lawsuit paranoia).I couldn't function. YEARS have passed, epidurals don't work and OPIOIDS are not to be had. Medical marijuana in NY is limited and more expensive than most other states. It seemsdoctors here seem to be limited in time, compassion, integrity, and effective solutions.
