was sent to the er by a doctor in the group by mistake, found out the doctors and staff there don`t listen, they wanted to run tests that i just had done a week ago. didn`t want to hear why i was there didn`t care that a doctor in there group sent me in for a specific test. i guess they didn`t trust his diagnosis. do they not trust there own colleagues. tried to resolve billing issue with a woman named Marta/Martha didnt even have the courtesy to return a phone call. will never use that er again. worst ER worst non listening doctors and staff. more concerned about my insurance payment than my health! read more

I don't know about the rest of the hospital, but the pain management section does a fantastic job on Wifey's back pain. They are very professional and friendly and you can ask them any questions and it will be answered honestly. The rest of the hospital is very clean with a waiting room that has free coffee, water and pastries and they also have valet parking which is very convenient. read more

Horrible, Hateful Treatment of Patients! If a patient asks for their right to health records privacy/opting out of forced sharing of their private medical records with external records trafficking databases, they are insulted for doing so, denied their privacy rights, and told to go elsewhere for care! Ditto for Syosset Hospital's violation of disability rights, and running of a stigmatic operation that mocks patients for having the medical conditions that brought them in for treatment. If that weren't bad enough, the hospital denies patients copies of their own records, leaving patients in the dark about the results of crucial medical tests. If a patient complains about the substandard, disrespectful treatment or asks for a supervisor, they are blackballed for doing so, with personnel told not to assist them! "Anthony" in admitting was particularly nasty and argumentative, and slammed the phone down on me after I requested his help in keeping my private health records out of so-called records exchange databases. As a result, my pending surgery was placed on hold, causing unimaginable stress, aggravation and hardship on top of the symptoms of the condition. Patients deserve a lot better than this! read more

On April 24, 2024 I received an early morning call my Mom was transported from her assisted living home Amber Court in Westbury to Syosset Hospital's ER by ambulance. From the moment I arrived and was looking for parking I was greeted by 2 of the most friendly gentlemen explaining,"pull around here and we got you, with valet service. You get to your dear Mom." They were so kind, helpful and even ensuring, "do you have all you need from your car before we park it?" Upon entering the ER I was greeted so warmly and with such kindness. Every single person my siblings and I encountered through out the process the next almost 2 weeks was simply wonderful. Each person whether parking, security at the front desk, the janitorial folks, patient, amazing nurses, Dr's, it was an incredible smoothly oiled machine. We felt like the most important people in your organized, impeccably kept hospital. I felt such compassion, empathy and patience it made our family so grateful our Mom was brought to Syosset Hospital for care. I would highly recommend this hospital. This review is about Northwell imaging Center in Syosset, part of Northwell network I had two appointments on June 7th one for cat scan and one for MRI starts at 3:45 Pm. My staff called the place at 2. P.m. spoke to someone named Kobi for final confirmation and she said all okay. I checked in around 3:40 . Firs of all the white woman who checked me in treated me with arrogance and disrespect. She perhaps didn't like my color. May be racist. Second I waited until 4:15 half hour and no one ever called me, I eventually had to go to front desk and ask for manager. Manager, a white male, came; I acquired why was I being not taken. Manager said the cat scan technician, the one who was supposed to do my cat scan at 3:45, left at 3:30. I was shocked First of all how arrogant and disrespectful for a tech to leave 15 minutes before an appointment that was scheduled about a month ago Anyways, I asked if the tech. left at 3:30 and I was sitting there since 3:45 how come you guys never told me till now (4:15 ) ; manger had no answer.  And then manager said your MRI appointment is 4:30 and that's why we never told you and I said that is insane because my 1st appointment was at 3:45 and if your technician left at 3:30 and I was sitting in your office since 3:40 as a courtesy u should've informed me your technician has gone instead of wasting my half hour ; the guy couldn't answer again. Local Hospital. One of the better kept secrets in the area, the Hospital in Syosset is hardly ever crowded. Not one of the bigger places around, it is big enough to handle almost any type of emergency or medical problem. The E.R. Staff was excellent- they listened to everything you had to say and were very cheery and helpful- my kind of people. Not that I would want to go to an E.R. again, but it is good to know that a decent one is near my home! Parking is very tight but there is free valet service to handle the crush. read more

It seemed weird to yelp a hospital but to be honest I've been so impressed with this place I just want everyone to know about it. My father had double knee replacement surgery last week and everyone from the front desk staff to the nurses to the security guards was amazing. Friendly, knowledgeable and always around for help. My mom had two total knee replacement surgeries over the course of one week. The majority of the ortho nurses and aides were extremely nice and helpful. They took great care of my mother and put my mind at ease. However, I did notice the cleanliness of the hospital left room for improvement. For example, when walking through the hall, I noticed an alcohol prep pad with a drop of blood on it was laying on the floor--as if someone had wiped a port and threw the pad on the ground. That's just bad housekeeping. I was also a little put off that my mother's IV was not put in correctly and her hand got very swollen. I did appreciate the free valet parking as it was tough to find a spot. The complimentary snack card that came around every few hours was also a nice touch. read more

Exceptionally rude front desk person, actually had the gall to tell me that I could not wait for a family member in the "building"! Seriously I was told to wait in the parking lot or in my car, Never mind that my son had already left the premises in my car! This occurred at their free standing MRI imaging center at 100 Lafayette Ave., I have never-ever anywhere been told that I could not wait inside of a building for a disabled family member. I had never been to this facility before, and had no prior interaction with this individual. This interaction colored the entire visit for me and my opinion of Northwell has not changed. From the moment we arrived we were not greeted in a normal fashion, just asked about paperwork. This particular front desk person was also confused about certain details and logistics of my MRI. This facility knows how to bill your insurance and knows how to collect co-pays, but apparently they don't know how to act in a civilized and empathic fashion towards an obviously quite ill person. I found this behavior and demeanor reprehensible disgusting, shocking, inhumane and quite possibly discriminatory. You have to ask yourself why the administration of this facility would have a person such as this be the very first interaction with patients. This interaction solidifies my opinion about Northwell in general, since this facility is part of the north well health system. Do yourself a favor and do your homework about where to have your MRIs done. Northwell is contracted with my insurance company at a much higher rate than other outpatient facilities who can do the same procedure. The reason I mention this is because you may be stuck with a much much larger co-pay if you use Northwell! Good going NORTHWELL, well done read more

I had a knee replacement done here in January. The care that I received was STELLAR! The nurses were amazing as were the CNA's. I was slightly concerned regarding the food menu as I'm gluten intolerant, but those fears were squashed!! I was brought in the most amazing meals with fresh vegetables that they grow on site! 4/23/12 will be the date i will never forget(except the surgery cause i dont remember an inkling of that). This is my first time in a hospital besides my time as a resident. I was scheduled for surgery to get laproscopic gallbladder removal. even though i am a doctor, i was still very nervous for my first time being under general anesthesia and surgery. My Anesthesiologist was Dr.Deemah Stalhamer and my surgeon was Dr.Robert Ward of ProHealth. they are the best period. perfect bedside manner. Excellent surgical skills. i do not have any bruising or swelling around the surgical sites. This hospital is definitely a gem. i have been to lots of hospitals with rude nurses and staff. they dont have those here. EVERYONE was so nice. it was unbelievable. No wait time. No Crowding. Even the head nurse made her rounds and i saw her before and after surgery. they really eased my tensions. if anyone was to have any surgery, this is the place to be. It was Sat morning just after the big storm, And i woke up with a pain in my right back. Started shoveling with my son and after about a hour the pain really started to get bad. I waited for my son to un bury my truck, And i proceeded to Syosset Hospital. I barely was able too walk in, But thank goodness the ER was totally empty. They were very nice and started taking my vitals and medical info immediately. In about 5 minutes they could see i was in excruciating pain. I was in a bed in less than 10 minutes. The nurses were very nice and friendly and also sore the pain was un bearable. Had an IV and morphine with in a few, And was feeling a hair better. Doctore came in examined me then sent me for a CT Scan. Nurse came with more morphine and some other drug which actually took the pain down quit a bit. Turned out it was a kidney stone and oh man was it painful. The staff was great and the place was more or less empty. The nurses were very attentive to my needs and my pain. read more

Horrible hospital, misdiagnosed my mother and could have killed her. She had been having blackout spells and falling. They were reluctant to check in, but after we insisted and said this was the second fall in two days they took her in to observe overnight. After running tests they stated it was dehydration and possibly uti (even though the culture did not come back). While I was there, she passed out in her chair right in front of me for 5 secs. I had to insist that they check the holter and anything else, they stated "we saw nothing" and still proceeded to push for discharge from the Attending. The Cardiologist kept saying they normally dont check and doing it as a favor. He also said "dehydration, uti." Well, I took her home and the very next day she fell (found her bleeding from head). Not taking any chances and from the advice from other fam (doctors) we took her to a larger hospital (Manhasset), there they diagnosed that her heart would stop up to 10 secs, easily seen on telemetry machine. Thank god for the wonderful Cardiologist and Expert Electrophysiologists at Manhasset, they caught it in time and she received a pacemaker yesterday. Syosset Hospital needs a shuffle of staff, or training in the areas mentioned above, people lives are at hand, we were lucky that we could consult outside of the hospital to get recommendations on her medical care. My mom had total knee replacement with dr Simonson which was excellent in nslij of syosset on May 27th. Everyone was pleasant n went out of their way to help you. I would like to say : "THANK YOU " to Sharon ( pre op nurse) for the hug n support before and after my mothers operation when I was so worried. I have met nice people over the years, but there was something really special about , Sharon . I happened to stay overnight with my mom since she didn't speak English n a young man ( Puegh) made sure I had a recliner , blanket n pillow. The nurses n nurses aid were very accommodating as well. Special thank you to a kind and beautiful nurse, Meredith Perz Valet parking is free between 6:30am - 5pm. They have coffee , tea, juice, water, cookies n muffins in the waiting room as well. read more

The nurses and ophthalmology team at Northwell Syosset hospital are simply amazing! My mom had cataract surgery 2 days ago and was feeling anxious about the procedure. Everyone there was so welcoming and compassionate and the nurses are super kind and kept us talking the entire time. My mom was able to relax going into surgery which was a short 20-minute procedure.
