USAVital was SO helpful in getting me the records I needed for my genealogy. They are polite, professional, and thorough. It is sometimes hard to get someone immediately, yet when I left a message, I ALWAYS got a call back. I accept this because they are working with the 3000+ locations all over the US where records can be located. Trying to get in touch with the clerks myself was even more frustrating. USAV will take the time to call the clerks, wait on hold to get an answer when I do not have time to. I highly recommend them for a job I DO NOT want to do myself. p.s. USA Vital is a joke I need a certified copy of my marriage license and there info said delivery bet 2-14 bus days. When I inquired why I'd not received my document I was then told 20-25 working days. Service is almost non existent after they get your money. When I tried to follow up after 2 months of not receiving a copy of my birth certificate, the mail box is full on the 800 number. After numerous tries someone answered the other phone number and gave me a personal email address that bounced back as non existent. There online form immediately put a check mark in the I am not a robot box then told me I failed even though it never gave me an option to choose any thing. There is bad service and there is No service. The Manager Lily believes in no service. Ordered and filled out forms, got notarized, paid extra for expedited. Was sent back my paperwork. Left message and email asking why was I sent everything back. I received no reply back. Ghosted. I called again late Friday afternoon, spoke with Taney. I asked for a manager, was told they weren't in, and she could have cared less - she sounded stoned so I asked for the manager's name - Lily. I was polite but got no love from Taney. Called back the next week, asked for Lily. She apologized, said there was a mistake, I should not have been sent the paperwork back. She said, if I sent the paperwork back to her, she would give me a refund, and send in the paperwork for my birth certificate. She processed the refund, I've waited a month but no birth certificate. I called up Lily today, asked for help and she was cold as a cucumber. Told me she processed the refund but did not send in the paperwork. "I would never do it for free". I responded "I dont care about the money aspect, you offered the refund, said you would send in the paperwork, this is what YOU said YOU would do." No love, no caring, she gave a cold response of "You need to contact LA County". Theres bad service and no service. Zero stars for Lily and USA Vital. read more

Terrible, I wouldn't even give 1 star, there should be negative star ratings. Payed to get birth certificate, they sent the wrong amount to the office of vital records, forgot to send them my photo ID. Then come to find that it only costs $25 straight from the office of vital records. This service is such a scam. If you need a copy of your birth certificate just contact the office of vital records in your state. read more

Numerous emails and phone calls haven't helped. Many go unanswered. The company requested documents they didn't need as they "didn't realize how old the record" I requested was (despite the fact that the order clearly stated the year of the records), and then claimed the records were sent. This turned out to be untrue. The excuse I got for this untruth was that their computer Q-drive wasn't working. Then they requested records for the wrong address. Their latest excuse is that it's the state records departments' fault. Since the company didn't even place the orders for the bulk of the time I've been waiting, that excuse is clearly another lie. There are five complaints similar to mine filed with the Better Business Bureau of Denver, Colorado. This suggests my negative experience with this company is not unique. This company also uses multiple names in different places: BackgroundsUSA, USAVital, AuthoriCheck, etc. Pretty sketchy. I'm not sure how many phone calls I've made, but I sent eleven emails between 10/21/2019 and 1/23/2020 that were completely ignored. One hundred sixty-nine days later, I am giving up on trying to get the records I requested and paid for. I'm demanding a full refund. This is a terrible, unprofessional, and unethical business. You'll get excuses and lies rather than the information you paid for. Deal with state departments of Vital Statistics instead. You can do just about any records request you need by U.S. mail. Even with the slow rate of mail, you'll likely get what you need in less than one hundred sixty-nine days. read more

i work in a marriage license dept and we consistently hear from customers needing a copy of their marriage record that this company charges more than 5 times what the actual fee is to obtain the record directly from our office. always contact the office that issued your record (marriage license dept in the county/state where you got married) to obtain a certified copy. for birth/death certificates contact the health dept in the state where the event occurred. read more

I have been waiting 7 months for a copy of a marriage certificate. They rarely return phone calls or e mails. When you do get a hold of someone they make promises they do not keep such as the marriage certificate is on its way. I have requested a refund three times ready but have yet to receive it. After organizing my stuff i realize my birth certificate is gone and start going through 5 giant garbage bags looking for scrapes of my birth certificate.. yeah I found no match but I did make a copy of my official one cause i thought i would need that for a passport Embarrassed I called USA Vital and the only thing I could do was order a new one -.- so i did but just to cancel it cause apparently you mail in the official birth certificate at the Post Office to get a Passport... Before you request vital records through this company call the courthouse directly that has the record. You can get a certified copy of your birth certificate for $15 from the county that has mine in Illinois, versus paying so much more for the exact same thing. All they are doing is keeping the extra money and sending the request to the county themselves on your behalf. read more

This Internet Service advertised that my costs for the service I ordered would be $57.00 dollars but did not include that I would be required to go to have my signature notorized. After making the payment I received an email with the forms necessary to order the document and that's when I found out that I would have to pay the additional $35.00 for a notory to authenticate my signature and in addition I would be required to send a color copy of my Drivers License or other State Identification which would cost my extra time and an additional Dollar. I was able to get the information I needed without all that a day after I ordered it then emailed them back to cancel the order. I got a call from Mario M. that advised me that they will be deducting $15.00 from the refund for a service fee. I now see that they are reporting the hidden costs mey be required on the part of the customer. At least I got the balance back but don't know why they thought they should get the fee? read more

I need a certified copy of my birth certificate to obtain a passport for a trip in September. When I typed in my birth county this website popped up and appeared to be the legitimate way to obtain it. I started this process in the beginning of June and received an email from them on June 11th that they had sent it to my birth county and it would be approximately 17- 20 business days. I have called them several times to see if there was a way to confirm status of my order. All I get is voice mail saying to leave a message so they can provide me with excellent service. STILL WAITING FOR THAT CALLBACK. For the price of what they charge and then the ADDITIONAL EXPENSE of the notarized copy I would NOT recommend this service. So far I'm out my $60 plus dollars, the cost of the Notary and still no idea as to when or if I will receive a copy of my birth certificate. So much for providing "Excellent Service". Also will have to postpone trip because no birth certificate means no passport! read more
