Really amazing selection of some high quality furniture and with great pricing. We ended up getting a couch, carpet, and lamp and were really happy with all three purchases. Much higher quality furniture for lower prices than Ikea, and my guess is it will last a lot longer. Plus John offered a great delivery service. This place was such a scam. The guy who works there is nice and very conversational but he totally tried to hustle us. A lot of the prices he gave us (couch for $300, ikea tables, drawers, shelves, etc) were practically the same price brand new at ikea. He told us that one of the couches we were interested was suede when it clearly wasn't. Funny thing is I went to ikea afterwards and found the exact same couch (brand new mind you) for the exact same price of $300. When I checked the tag I was able to confirm that the couch was indeed not suede but 100% polyester. Be very wary when looking at stuff at this store. He is clearly a good salesman trying to maximize his profit off of you. Definitely won't be coming here again. read more

After reading the reviews, I decided to drop in and check out Used Furniture. I had no intention on buying anything but since I recently moved into my first home I figured this would simply be a fact-finding mission. I walked and immediately saw an espresso coloured wardrobe that work wonderfully for my bedroom, as closet space is virtually non-existent in my place. I spoke to John and he had gotten the piece earlier in the day. There was a large crack down the side and he knocked off $25 from his price as he hadn't had a chance to repair it. I explained that I was getting paid the next day so I wouldn't be able to buy it right then & there, but he said I could pay him by check and postdate it for the next day. I said I didn't have my checkbook on me and he was cool with that too, saying I could give it to him upon delivery. Well, that was truly an offer I couldn't refuse. By 8pm, my clothes were out of storage bins and hanging in a lovely new (to me) piece of furniture in my home. Thank you John, I will definitely be back! read more

I moved to Seattle 10 days ago. I only signed up on Yelp to submit this review because I thought it was worthwhile. John was very responsive by phone even on a Saturday morning. I went into the store around 1 PM, and within 30 minutes had gotten lucky with an almost new leather loveseat and coffee table. I paid by check and was told I would get delivery by around 7 PM. I got a call at 3 PM asking if I was available for delivery at that time. I said yes and John was at my building within 10 minutes! I had also asked him for a support board or slattes for my bed frame so I could put my mattress on there. John said he'd see if he had some and would call me when he got back to the store. And like he said, I got a call from him within 5 minutes of him leaving saying he had the right slattes for the bed and was coming by to drop them off. He didn't even charge me, he just did it to be nice. Couldn't ask for better service, I'll definitely be calling John when I need more furniture for my apartment. read more

Being in the Service Industry, giving impeccable service SETS ONE APART FROM THE MASSES, and Used Furniture SURPASSES any furniture store here in Seattle, including the mother load of them all...IKEA. I owe it all to one individual, John Evans. This brother, took care of me like I was his own kid brother. I got to know John on a personal level as he shared his personal side of him to me. I was eyeing out this really like new recliner and come to find out it was a LAZY BOY.....DAAAAAAAAANG! Tested it out and said to myself....SELF GET THAT FOR YOURSELF! Million dollar question as always asked, HOW MUCH? John told me, for you, $175.....for a LAZY BOY RECLINER!!!!!!!!!!!! HOLY SHIT! Well after the sale was done, I inquired about an L shaped corner computer desk, and a heavy duty wooden futon frame along w/ a king size mattress to go along with it. John said, No Problem....I have those in stock as well. Again used furniture, but high quality stuff that these guys carry. I found out that these guys have a lucrative network w/ hotels all over Seattle where they pick up the pieces that the hotels are upgrading too, and they pass the savings to us folks. Smart business concept if you ask me. So, @ the end of the day? the Lazy Boy recliner, the computer corner L shaped desk, and the heavy duty wooden futon bed frame and mattress, I got it ALL UNDER $520. Savvy shopping if you ask me. I love this local used furniture store, and what a nice, direct store name. John (the owner) is super nice and chatty and Ed is very helpful and knowledgeable. I like the cluttered, crazy hoarder style of the place, with tables nestled into couches, mirrors, and sofas - very efficient use of space! Their stock is constantly changing and they have very fair prices, open to negotiation. I have gotten several lovely things here (including among other things two nice wooden bars, a wooden coffee table, a desk) and it's a first stop for me when looking for a new piece of furniture. Absolutely fantastic. What's so absolutely fantastic? Everything. The furniture, the price, the customer service, everything. We got a nice leather couch and a recliner from John and he gave us a great deal. Delivered it to our apartment and was very careful with handling the furniture. He treats it as if it's his own and makes sure you're happy with what you buy. He even offered to deliver a mattress that a few girls were hauling down the street. They didn't buy anything from the store, they just had the luck to pass by the store trying to carry a mattress. Such a nice man! If you see something you like, better get it as soon as possible, because many items in the store sell quick. Once the couch was in our apartment a few blocks away, we realized that it just would not fit into our living room. I'd been lurking for the better part of a week, trying to catch a time when the store was open. Finally, on a Sunday, I noticed a phone number to call in the window and left a message. John called me back and drove over to open up the store for me. Long story short - he is super friendly, very talkative, and extremely welcoming to someone who just moved to the area. He got me a great deal on a bed, and helped me move it up five stories of narrow stairs, THEN up into my loft! He even helped me move my old one out! God bless this man. Stopped by, and they were not open, I called a business card in the window and he was there in 5 minutes! We walked there to check it out and he was kind enough to deliver our new couch to the apartment and give us a ride home along the way! Best service I ever had and at fair prices too! Update: within a week, the couch had about 4 very large tears in it, which I realize now, were quickly and poorly sewn for a quick sell. Seemed like a nice Mom and Pop store to get a couch. John was extremely courteous and hauled away our old couch for a small fee. That's where the happiness ends. We were assured every piece of furniture had been checked for bed bugs. Wrong. Now we have an infestation and 3 treatments later we can't get rid of the goddamn things. Thanks John! John is fantastic. A genuine, personable, friendly guy who wants to get you great furniture at a great price. I really enjoyed talking with him and the entire sales experience. He was not at the shop when I got there, but a quick phone call and he was there as soon as he finished his last delivery. There are a lot of hidden treasures in little shop. I found a great dresser, mirror, and end table. He fixed some minor issues and delivered them himself the same day. He mounted the mirror on the dresser and set everything up. Hands down the best furniture buying experience I have every had. Something to keep in mind: This is NOT a big furniture store. This is one man handling everything from sales to delivery. It does take a little patience to move furniture to get to somethings and it is a crowded shop. You may need to be flexible with delivery time but John will go above and beyond to help you and meet your needs. I will continue to shop with John. read more

I'm giving this place an overall 2.5-3 stars. Came in yesterday (Saturday) morning and spoke with Ed. I ended up purchasing a drawer, two chairs, and a lamp. It all came at a very great price and they're always willing to bargain. They charged me $35 for delivery to Bellevue, but now that I've read the reviews I should've asked for a discount on that as well since most seem to be getting it for free. I paid off the amount Ed calculated and said my things would be delivered by 6pm that evening by John, the store owner. I gave John a call at 5:50pm to find out his ETA. He didn't know who I was or the products I purchased until I mentioned them to him. John said he'd give me a call back at 8am the following morning to let me know when he'd deliver, and he apologized as well. Well it is now 9:17am Sunday and I have called John twice, left him a text and still no response. I waited another 45 minutes until John called me back, telling me that he'd arrive at my place by 10:30am, and that Ed had miscalculated the total amount, so I owe him an extra $100 for the drawer. At this point, my patience and time had been tested - so I decided to withdraw my purchase for the drawer and I wanted my refund back. I was out of my place by the time John had told me he'd arrive by 10:30 but i told him that someone else would be at my apartment. I come back home at around 11:15am and the things had still not arrived! I called John and he told me he was lost! (this is something you should've told me when you realized you were 45 minutes running behind schedule.) My things finally arrived at around 11:30am. I got my refund back and was extremely disappointed with how this transaction went. Tips for buyers, bring your own vehicle to take your belongings with you and always bargain. As other reviewers have pointed out, John can miss his appointments w/o letting his customers know ahead of time. Payment Methods: Cash or Check ONLY Parking: Street parking Overall, good prices for the furniture (but they're used and in ok condition). I work for one of the best customer service companies in the world, so I would expect the same from any other service oriented business, which John lacks on his end. Ed was great. I cannot say enough good things about John and how he does business. After moving to Seattle from Brooklyn with NO furniture and on a tight budget, I was lucky enough to discover Used Furniture on Yelp. My first mission: by a couch. There was nothing there that I was interested in at the time but I received John's personal cell number and kept in touch with him through text. He always sent me pictures of what he had in stock (furniture moves in and out very quickly). At last, I got a picture of the perfect sofa and matching chair. I went to Used Furniture right away and John worked with me on the price. He let me think about it as long as I needed to - and said "even if someone comes and offers more money, this is YOUR couch until you make a decision, take your time." This made me feel comfortable because I really can't stand pushy sales people. I couldn't pass it up. He packed it in his truck, drove me home and helped move it into my apartment. John even rearranged the furniture to make it work in my living room and I haven't moved it since. Everything was perfect. Also, John does NOT collect and sell junk. All of his inventory is like new. I just moved to town so I need myself some furniture. I found this one on Yelp and checked the store out. The owner Jon is super helpful, he managed to get me all the things I wanted and the deals were good too. Bought me a decent wooden desk, mattress and a unique chair. Got some freebies that he added in too. We arranged delivery at 6.30pm but he was able to make it 1hr earlier. Jon knew his way around moving things so we finished putting things in my room in a jiffy. Will definitely get back to this for more interesting stuff. read more

Second experience was completely positive. Same great customer service, and no delivery fee for our new sofa (which is certainly more work to deliver than the book case). There were at least four new sofas since our visit only a week ago, and we were interested in three of them. John (who was a pleasure) immediately discounted each quote by $40-95 when we let him know we were interested in buying one today. He even held the one we were interested in until we could confirm it would fit in our apartment, and let us pay on delivery. We're quite happy with the couch and with our delivery! Amazing! Couldn't get any better! After our online sofa delivery fell through, we headed here the day before Thanksgiving (we were expecting guests and no furniture would suck) to see if they had anything available. Bearing in mind it is 3pm and we are a little last minute. There was no one around, but I called the number on the front door and John arrived 3 minutes later. He was SO helpful, offered a great deal on a sofa, and we picked up two extra chairs and a table too for a very reasonable price. Best part of all? Even though he was super busy, he insisted on delivering the furniture to us that same night, and for only $10!! This is why I love small businesses like this one people.
