A mixed review unfortunately . The great the bad and the ugly!!! Thoroughly enjoyed the museum. It was free (although a suggested donation of 3 pounds- which is worth it). It had a surprising amount of artifacts to look at when inside. There was plenty to see, and really get a feel for the town's history. There was a gentleman amd a lady at the door, very friendly.
The bad and the ugly - the cafe looked nice, it had a lot of people there. My daughter had a baby, so my husband went to the till to ask for a high chair. Before he got to the counter, he was told to get back to his seat. He tried to explain, he just wanted a high chair, but she was not listening, she shouted over him waving her hand at him (shushing him) ' JUST SIT DOWN, JUST SIT DOWN!'. The other server brought the high chair, she did not look at us at all. So my daughter and i wanted to see the cakes next to the till (they were not on the menu), the lady working in the kitchen yelled at me to sit down. My daughter had gotten a can from the fridge, that she wanted to choose. I responded 'i just wanted to see what cakes there were'.The lady shouted - there is 'caramel cake! ...and continued rudely. And then shouted for is to 'go sit down!'
I saw other customers go to the counter to pay for their food - it was puzzling and i was Perplexed. We packed up our stuff, i went back to her and told her, i was from Wales, and i brought my husband from another country, it was his first time here, and her behaviour was embarrassing (in a calm tone). She shouted at me- I TOLD YOU TWICE TO SIT DOWN!! YOU DIDNT LISTEN!!! I responded, 'your behaviour is 'rude'. I turned around and left. She shouted at me all the way out, in front of all her guests.
I didnt hear the rest, just shouting. Very sad. The museum was wonderful, but i recommend to leave immediately after. read more
