There is a very well-maintained POW/MIA display right outside the entrance to the USO.

I always find the USO a very hospitable and comfortable place to relax while waiting for a flight or waiting for someone to get off of a plane. I visited on a Wednesday night while I was waiting for some individuals to get off of a plane. I was there at approximately 10pm. I was the only one using the service at the time and a very nice Army vet named Lonnie was volunteering his time. He went out of his way to make sure I had what I wanted/needed and was very attentive. He told me his story of military service and asked me very detailed questions about mine. I greatly appreciated his attention. He made it a point to make sure I was comfortable and had the refreshments and other things that I would need. I told him that my Uncle volunteered at this USO prior to passing away and that I gave him a challenge coin and he donated it to the USO. Lonnie took the time to find my coin on the large display and told me that he oversees the display case and told me some interesting facts about some different coins. The USO in Indy is not very large but there is ample space to sit and relax while you are waiting.

Very nice USO in the Airport.

They were polite. They charge you more if you use a card by 4% but I didn't see this listed online anywhere. I just don't see that I saved a whole lot of money here versus Aldi's or some of the other places I go. But if you're in the area go.

It's a very unassuming location so I wasn't sure what to expect when I walked in. The produce is the first section you walk into as you enter so that was good because I didn't have to go searching for the deals. Everything I wanted was still in stock and I found a few extra treats that weren't on the list at great prices(ex. 7.5oz Wholly Guacamole bowls for $1 each-a steal!) I ended up buying blackberries, raspberries, Vidalia onions, zucchini, squash, Cincinnati Reds peanuts, spring mix and arugula and my total was less than $16. The deal is that everything is probably close to their "best by" date but for such a low price I can afford to "use em or lose em". I browsed around the store to see what else they had and I may have to check out some of their clothing next time because it looked like some good deals to be had in that area as well. I'll definitely be back.

After having grown up on Indy's Northwestside and lived either there or downtown most of my life,…read moreI've spent the last 12+ years as a passionate and enthusiastic Eastsider. Now that I burned the mortgage papers on my home (Don't worry. I paid it off first!), it's pretty much established that I'm here to stay. There's an Eastside vibe that I really love that vibe really comes to life in Circle City Industrial Complex, a behemoth of repurposed buildings that weaves together the tapestry of life that I love about living on the Eastside including the industrial, the arts, the dedication to life, the creativity, the makers, the shakers, and the incredibly practical. I'll be honest and say that I initially avoided CCIC. It seemed intimidating, parking was confusing, and wheelchair access can be a little hit-and-miss in spots as different sections have gotten repurposed. I remember at one point attending a Yelp event here and thinking "This is exactly why I don't come here." It was, quite honestly, a bit of a pain in the butt for a wheelchair user. However, things continue to improve. And, perhaps more importantly, every time I come here I appreciate it and I enjoy myself. What can you find here? There's participation in the First Friday Art Walk. There's the delightfully spot-on Centerpoint Brewing - the first actual spot I visited here at CCIC. There's 8th Day Distillery, Fowling Warehouse Indy, Lick Ice Cream, SoChatti, New Day Craft. There's a myriad of artists. There's Dance Kaleidoscope. There's Glass Arts Indy. There's the Indiana Writers Center. There's Stitchworks, JK Guitar, Indy Fused Glass, and more. With over a half-million square feet, CCIC looks intimidating and is a little intimidating. There are four key entrances and it really is helpful to know the suite number of where you're going. The big entrance by Centerpoint primarily serves Centerpoint and its adjacent spots. There's a large parking lot across the street that provides key access to other entrances. Oh, and despite being industrial there is actually an elevator to the second floor. CCIC really is the foundation that spurred the growth of Windsor Park, a growth that has complemented the neighborhood rather than dominated it. Nearby spots like Kan-Kan, Brasserie, Amelia's, and others are adding even more personality and style to the area. I love that artists located here are actually required to participate in First Friday events. This really is a communal space and they work hard to keep that vibe. Did you know that CCIC has 60 protected artists' spots? This means they will only rent these spaces to artists (and they review portfolios!). There's so much to love here. They are currently updating the oldest section at 1101 Mass Avenue - a space planned to offer restaurant space, retail, and performance space. You can even tell in the design plans that accessibility will be vastly improved. If you've never checked out Circle City Industrial Complex, I highly recommend it. It's one of Eastside Indy's crown jewels.

They do have two free parking lots and street parking. The space is very large and it can get a little confusing navigating through the halls. Goodness, have I walked the canal about 50 times now?!…read more It's such a unique experience for Indy to have some water space in the middle of the city. This 3 mile loop will take you from 11th Street down to White River State Park to access the green space and extra trails down there. The canal water itself is not super cute, where there can be litter, and the water is rather opaque. They do drain the canal every so often to keep it from getting too uncute. The sidewalks are kept nicer, though a few spots in front of apartment buildings could use some TLC. There are also a few spots where the sidewalk is not level, so take caution if that is an issue. It's mostly stair access to the canal, but I *think* I've seen an elevator around the Ohio street basin. The canal has a few businesses along it for your merriment. Notably, there is Fresco on the Canal (I have a separate review for this) which is open March-October. Eiteljorg museum cafe is open daily around the lunch hours (11-3) and can be accessed through their patio gate. Entertainment wise, there is more going on. I've done the swan boat rentals, where you can pedal around on the canal. This is quite a workout! Rental of swan boats and kayaks is near the Ohio Street basin. There is also the gondolas, where your gondolier can sing, and they've always sounded marvelous. There's also a few stations for the Pacers Bikeshare around the canal, which is free for Marion County residents. Any time the weather is right, you can find me getting my steps in!

My first and most recent experiences have been out of this stellar location, right in the heart of the Circle City. I mean, what's not to love? Great location, beautiful and modern space, reliable wi-fi, incredibly friendly staff, never ending coffee, awesome local business... I could go on and on. This is definitely my style of coworking, they truly do an amazing job. I love the natural light thanks to the giant windows that wrap around the entire space. It's on the third floor so you get a little bit of a view, which is always nice. Overall, the vibe is just on point. The only cons I can think of revolve around the parking situation. The street parking can be very limited given the location. The prices can get up there depending on what you're looking for but honestly, there's a little something for everyone. If you're looking for co-working space, you'd be a fool to not check this place out.

You got me Industrious…read more You would think it was the fancy features of great interior decor, local coffee by Tinker, morning and afternoon snacks from local businesses by Bakersfield and The Garden Table that would make this spot such a knock out, but I have to say, it's staff for me. They have offered such a warm welcome from the start and feel like an extension of my own coworkers. Lets be clear, the floor to ceiling windows overlooking Mass Ave and wine in the afternoon doesn't hurt either. A few more reasons to consider Industrious as your next coworking space or a meet up location for a team retreat: -private phone booths -plentiful natural light -high quality snacks and drinks shared throughout the day -programming and educational opportunities -location in the heart of Mass Ave (over-ish Garden Table to give you an idea) -printing resources -small touches like mouthwash in the bathrooms and guest coffee roasters from other Industrious markets throughout the country -your membership will provide you with access to all other Industrious locations which is exceptionally handy for folks like me who travel fairly frequently with work/need spaces like this from time to time
