This place is awesome. If you have any questions and Sammy is working she is so knowledgeable. She helped everyone in our group and made our experience so pleasant. All of the kids had so much fun with the QR code scavenger hunt. I can't believe what a gem this place is for the community of Carbon County. We stopped here spontaneously (we actually found it promoted on a rest stop sign) on our roadtrip through Utah and while it isn't a big museum it had a lot of really cool dinos/other artifacts and lots of information that was presented in a really interesting, easy to read format. Definitely worth the minimal admission price! The staff were super friendly too. We only had about an hour to spend here because of time constraints but we definitely could have been here longer. They seemed to be working on renovations so I can only imagine it'll get even better after that! Also a cool fact is most of the fossils they have in their collection were found locally. In addition to the dinosaur portion they have another portion with American history which was also very interesting! read more

We had a great time here! The little kids corner was surprisingly great, with tons of puzzles my kids enjoyed. We loved seeing real fossils. The two big center exhibits were really cool. I loved that they had a family price that would have felt like a great value but we were pleasantly surprised to learn it was free to get in on holidays! We love museums, so before leaving the area, we stopped here. Utah (and the West in general) is great for museums, fossils, etc. It was $6 to enter. It's actually larger than you think. There's 2 levels and several rooms to visit. They don't have a lot on display. We were told they're looking to expand and receive more exhibits. It's very clean and well lit. This museum was so cute! My mom wanted to take me to do a few fun things while I was in town. She had never been herself so she didn't know what to expect. I really enjoyed all of the history and the artifacts! I had also never saw a mammoth so I thought that was really freaking cool! Most people know that Utah has a good deal of archeological history-from cool rocks to dinosaurs. The prehistoric museum in Price does a good job of telling their stories. The entrance fee is nominal-free on holidays-and well worth the cost to get in. Plenty of free parking outside. There's a small gift shop with souvenir type items as well. Once inside, there are directions you follow that take you through the different time periods. There are two levels-stairs or an elevator are available to move between the floors. If you take the time to read the signs and plaques, you will learn a great deal about the history of our planet. I saw that there was a section for children with interactive activities. It looked like it would be really fun to take youngsters that are interested in science. The museum is celebrating it's 60th year and there are lots of old newspaper articles displayed that tell the story of the museum and archeologists. read more

Last minute decision to stop after lunch in Price. Good decision! $20 for the whole family, lots of great information, displays and things to see. Some of the museum is a bit dated, but it was well worth our time. We have a 10, 15 and 17 year old and they all liked it. read more

Stanley and I went on a one night trip to Price, Utah to celebrate a special occasion during Covid-19 times. It was a short, local road trip and one of our main attractions was this museum. This building did not stand out too much, but looked quite big for a small town. Once we walked in, we were greeted by a very nice lady at the front desk. The museum prices are very cheap and for students it is even cheaper! We were the only customers in the building because we had come an hour before closing on a weeknight. The museum has two floors and the tour kind of goes in a circle. The lady at the front desk suggested we start off on the right side and go through the first floor, once you hit the elevator, you can go up and tour the second floor, and the signs will direct you back down to the first floor for the end of the tour. Overall, this museum is pretty small, but definitely worth the cheap ticket price! You definitely get what you paid for in a good way. I probably will not be coming back as there is no reason for me to come back to Price, Utah, but it is a fun experience to explore this museum at least once. read more

This museum is fairly small but has nice displays of fossils and dinosaurs. There were also quite a few dinosaur tracks which had been removed from local mines as well as fossilized dinosaur eggs. Entrance fee was $12, parking was free right in front of the museum. We visited on Feb 5th, 2018. read more

Small museum, but a nice pit stop on the way to Moab. They have some interesting exhibits with real fossils and various bones (not just replicas!) Great for kids, but if you don't like dinosaurs or rocks you might be a bit disappointed. We spent at most an hour wandering around. read more

This place is a great stop through on your way through Utah. They have assembled dino fossils and a great exhibit of paleontology. I found it fascinating as a history buff and my kids loved the dinosaurs. It'd not huge, probably a hour or so, but it's dense and awe-inspiring. read more

This was a planned stop on a dinosaur themed road trip my husband, sons (3, 7) and I were on. There was a small, reasonable fee to enter and parking was available in front of the building. While it is a small museum, it ended up being one of the highlights as we had the pleasure of speaking with one of the paleontologist who works here. Our oldest calls himself a "paleontologist in training" so this place was a must and having this meeting was a bonus. The museum itself features many prehistoric artifacts along with the information to go with it. It has windows to look into a paleontology lab and an archeology lab. The ladies at the front desk were very nice and very helpful (not being from Price..or Utah for that matter, we were a bit lost and the ladies at the front desk helped us find our way). Overall, this was a great visit. We wouldn't go out of our way to visit again but we are happy we made it a point to stop here. read more

I visit this museum every summer and always leave impressed. Great displays, aesthetically pleasing, and informative. A great use of our tax dollars and it makes me wish the government would use our tax money as wisely on other endeavors as they do here. Staff is very friendly. read more

This museum is awesome, and espcially so for a small town. The dino stuff is really cool, and the people are super nice, especially Tim RIley, the archaeologist. Any questions and the director himself will come answer them if need be. The mastodon and Utahraptor alone are worth the stop. And the people who work here have top-notch science credentials, so they know their stuff. read more
