Terrible experience. I have not sought medical care for over a decade because of my fear of these…read morekinds of predatory billing practices. When I got insurance with a new job which stated it offered two free wellness checkups for in-network providers, I decided to try it. This provider is in-network. I described to everyone involved-- the appointment booker, the nurse, and the doctor herself-- that I was there for the FREE wellness checkup provided with my insurance. This was acknowledged throughout. There was no physical done, but I answered some questions, had my blood drawn, and was provided an online outline of my blood test results. Then I was sent a bill for almost $400. I reached out to the billing department who repeatedly gave me prefabricated answers about how the billing is correct and that it is the patient's responsibility to assure the services rendered are covered entirely by insurance. Well, I have no idea what more I could've done to try to avoid this situation. I paid the insurance, made sure they were in network, and repeatedly communicated to everyone involved that I was trying to only get what my insurance covered, and STILL ended up with a $400 bill. Did I need to bring a lawyer with me to my one, singular, wellness checkup, in order to avoid being inadvertently charged? What could any rational person do to avoid this situation? If I could use expletives in this situation, I would. I think this group should be absolutely ashamed of themselves. Even if this kind of practice falls within the boundaries of a mercurial legality, the moral element is cut and dry-- these are absolute, lecherous grifters. I would not have sought medical care in the first place if I knew this would be my experience, and I am now canceling my insurance and hoping that I can make it another decade or more without needing to see anyone about my "wellness".

Awful place. BILLING dept. is unfriendly and run by…read moredinosaurs. They stick to a script and cannot answer humanely. They have names like Betty and Esther... is this the 1950s??? They are condescending and confrontational. I asked several questions about fees added to my patient bill and got irrational explanations, no answers at all or lectures about how they bill. Billing department needs a public review, needs to be online and needs to wake up to the 21st century. If I could select zero starts I would, but the lowest you can do is one star. Even that is too high for them.
