It all started almost 2 years ago, with the excellent care from the receptionists who answered the phone who are always willing to help me scheduling appointments or rescheduling, lol, you know when life happens. They have always made me feel like I am being heard with my request!! Then when aids call my mom's name they're right there to assist her and have patience and understanding of her conditions. They are kind as they go about their duties to get my mom's chart and vitals ready for the doctor, even if she repeats herself 20 times in 10 minutes!!! Then comes in Dr. Therese Ray! - she's a GOD send to our family and I (we) feel lucky that she's not overwhelmed if there are 1,2, or sometimes 3 in the room asking questions lol. My mom's condition ranges from her heart, diabetes, Dementia etc.,etc.. Dr. Ray is honest and patient, she understands my mom's needs and I feel so confident in every decision she has recommended - from treatment plans, medications, and for the truth and about some hard issues ahead. But my mom had so many specialists before and so many doctors and doctors appointments it was exhausting and very depressing. Unfortunately I don't think that she gets paid enough like all those other specialists my mother had to go to before we came here CHC. I know Dr. Ray has a big sigh of relief when I or all of the other family members leave her room. KIND, CONSIDERATE, RESPECTFUL, and Professional, that's my experience. It takes a village and My Family is very blessed that we can include Community Health Center on Pine Street in our village and our family. Thank you, John. P. S. Ashley who guided me to the patient exam room and did my triage/pre-assessment was very kind and patient, and also had some pretty stylish boots. For a medical office, I must say they were a stylish bunch and I let them know it, but I did go on their Casual Friday as they told me it was. The office was also very clean, smelled nice, and even was decorated for Christmas. It seems that they are quite booked because the physicals they had available to book were few which is a good sign. It's just a little bit challenging if you are a new patient (which I was/am). Overall, I just wished to say that the staff was very nice. Dr. Sarah (who is an ARNP, but i still call nurse practitioners and PA's doctors anyways lol) was pleasant and went through my health questionnaire and also addressed my cold/swollen lymph nodes concern. I also like that there is a pharmacy located behind the office as well. A nice added touch was the Christmas tree in the corner that had knit mittens on it that you could either take a pair from or donate a pair to. There is also a bulletin board that communicates things such as vaccine schedules, therapy help, and other things like a wellness drumming session which i did not know existed. I had to schedule my physical exam a few months out, but I appreciated the promptness of my appt. and the candor in which the staff demonstrated towards me. I never met a more amazing health care provider. She actually listens and helps with your issues. The only reason I stayed during the rough patch was her. I have never regretted it. I have always been seen on time, cared for by friendly,…read moreefficient staff, and my presenting problems have been thoroughly evaluated, explained, and treated. Today was no different. I waited less than 5 minutes. Intake with assistant was thorough, professional and friendly. Xays were done on the spot. Ten minutes later pictures had been reviewed with doctors and treatment options were presented to me in detail. I have arthritis, and injured my knee (direct impact, knocked down by a 60 lb dog running fast straight at me, playing our chase game). I chose a cortisone shot, which was administered painlessly by Seth. (Although I was advised to expect relief in a few days, tonight the difference in stiffness and pain is remarkable.) Seth recommended exercises that would strengthen the supporting musculature around the knee, and said water aerobics is ideal. I left feeling very appreciative of and impressed by the care of this team and the efficiency of the office. That has remained constant for the past 15 years that I have been a patient here.

The nurse brought me into the examination room, only to leave me sitting for 15-30 more minutes by myself. The horrible part is the paper thin walls which allow for the conversation in the next room to reverberate in the room you are in. If they were talking about the injury of the other patient, that would be fine, but that is not what they were talking about-they were "shooting the breeze and talking about a recent move, etc. This went on for 20 minutes...After all of my wait, Dr. Kaplan spent less than 10 minutes with me, giving me no real answers or follow up appointment, only sending me away-returning to the other room with the patient he had been talking to before. I can't believe I had to pay a 20 co-pay for almost an hour and a half for an 8 minute doctor visit that gave me NOTHING. VERY DISAPPOINTED.

Most of them are traveling nurses and care assistants. It's not easy working 8 , 12 or 16 hour day. They work so hard to take care of their patients then they come back and do it all over again. Had to move the patient out of the facility on an emergency basis because they stole all of her morphine 3 times in 3 days. Yeah, she could not get any pain relief from bone cancer pain because the nurses kept stealing it. The nurses are also well known for drinking on the job so heavily that they pass out in the parking lot.

Then when I got fed up enough with them, I decided to switch doctors, and requested a transfer of my records. They LOST that request within a day. When I called and asked them what they could do to help me, they hung up on me. Extremely unprofessional, and just plain rude.
