Although I haven't ventured into their art studios (yet) i've heard they are beautiful with loads of natural light. There's plenty of savoury and sweet cabinet food including a number of gluten-free and dairy-free options. Although I have only tried their coffee so far it was pretty darn good. Neither bitter, nor weak and served at just the right temp. So why only 3 stars? Well, when I visited (a couple of weeks after opening) they seemed to still be getting the place in order - there were empty fridges and unfilled shelfs. The space just seemed too big for them to fill, which killed the atmosphere a touch. That being said, i'm looking forward to heading back when they are more established and maybe even getting creative at an art class or two!

At Bay Cafe, they have quite a bit of seating inside with small tables surrounding one large rectangle table, and then outside there are two tables which suit warmer days. The coffee my dad, partner and I ordered was fantastic, so I can't argue with the barista skills here. As we were only after a light snack, we opted on a few homemade sausage rolls, and a few date scones. The rolls, were ok, could have been possibly crispier to the bite as one would expect, but filled the gap. The date scones on the other hand were amazing! Full of fruit, and was done to perfection! So I must recommend them, the cheese scones however definitely not as nice and lacking that scone like bounce. The service is kind, and they have amazing quick service so I would recommend popping in for a morning or afternoon coffee.

The guy who owns the place is super friendly and the space is very light and cheerful. This cafe is adjoined to the Living Edge store, so once you're finished in the cafe you can go for a browse. Parking at the cafe is onsite which is very convenient and there is seating both inside and out. They have a breakfast and lunch menu and the food is well priced and good quality. The staff here are very obliging when it comes to the menu and any dietary requirements you have, just let them know and they do the best to accommodate you. I have been accommodated for on several occasions. Great service, coffee and food, location is odd but if you're in the area, it's not too bad.

Decor is pretty simple. Coffee- they roast everyday. You can get your pick of single origin coffee as well as the blended stuff. Makes the standard stuff. Hope they introduce v60 etc at some point! They have delicious juices, ice creams, food and my favourite - Kokako Coffee. The staff were really friendly and looked really happy to have their café open. It reminded me of going to get ice creams after the beach when I was a kid. I was flooded with memories of hot summer days and hanging out with my family. It's got a really good Kiwi vibe to it that many cafes are missing nowadays. We were in a hurry so just got takeaway coffee, but I'd love to go there, get an ice cream and go for a walk around Point Chevalier.
