My uncle decided to take my cousins and I out for some ice cream because I stayed in the house all day and I think they felt bad so they decided to take me out. I wasn't complaining, but I was actually recuperating from all my past festive activities in the city. I didn't know what to expect because it seems my family isn't very adventurous when it comes to eating out. MATCHA BINGSU- shaved matcha ice with mochi, cornflakes, almond flakes, matcha kit-kats, pocky sticks, and matcha cream This was my favorite dish of the night. I really love the flavor of the matcha with all the different textures. I only wish the matcha was stronger because all the toppings added some sort of sweetness and the matcha didn't necessarily have to be that sweet as well. I really liked the crunchiness the toppings added to the shaved ice especially the cornflakes and the almonds. The flavor combo really worked well together and the textures were on point. WATERMELON & STRAWBERRY BINGSU- shaved watermelon ice with almond dacquoise, pistachio, strawberry, watermelon, and rose cream This dish was disappointing because it was fruity, but not spectacular. It was a very basic shave ice. The flavor combos didn't work as well together as the first bingsu that we ordered. The rose cream was very floral, but it didn't meld well with the fruity flavors. The pistachios were an odd addition because it added texture, but it came out a bit bitter when eaten with the watermelon and strawberry flavors. SALT & PEPPER CALAMARI This dish was okay. The calamari was soft and should've had a crispy skin. Flavor was okay when the lemon was squeezed on it and when dipped into the tartar sauce it added a deeper layer of creamy tartness. Overall, it was an okay savory dish. The desserts here are very instagram worthy, but so far flavor was okay. I would have to come back and try other things on their menu. read more

I need to come to V Lounge's rescue as its not as bad or mediocre as people say... I used to be one of these people too & would often frequent here out of convenience, lack of other options & the fact it's a local late night establishment. But after looking at my photos I realized everything I've ordered here has been quite deelish! So why haven't I been an avid fan? Can't explain why but it may have something to do with the lack of soul/uniqueness/direction of ambience but truth be told it's a decent one stop shop for typical cafe food, sugar fix or just a decent & comfortable place for a hot drink catch up. It's got an outdoor seating are, comfortable cafe lounges & the dessert menu is extensive! The grilled salmon is yummy, I love fried ice cream so that's a plus & the affogato is pretty outstanding too! V lounge gets my vote!! read more

Had a great time with my workmate after work here. Its a great place to go to if you have the time especially when its open late. Despite our not so long trip from the Western Suburbs. Food was delicious and flavourful. Unfortunately we mostly just tried the specials however the wings and peking duck fries were amazing! Various combinations for drinks and simple menus so there isn't a lot of thought when ordering. Although I do wish that the facilities catered a bit more to a restaurant feel because the food is almost restaurant worthy. Service was good and friendly. The thing I hate about V Longue is that it gets away with being mediocre because there's no competition. Besides a wallet full of cash, nothing draws the ladies faster to a restaurant than dessert. And we know the fellas just let the ladies have their way, cause nothing is more seductive than watching their lady friends lick and nibble on chocolate dipped strawberries... I digress. Ever wanted to know what a beached octopus would feel like? Well if you wave your arms around violently for 10 minutes to grab a waitresses' attention, you've hit the jackpot baby! Hell you could sit down for a 3-hour trigonometry exam here and not be disturbed. Librarians, I think you know where to poach staff. Take note, service is painfully slow. But a divine dessert can make amends right? Not when you have limp churros, grainy panna cottas and a highly original fried ice cream. Wow, I completely disagree with you Phil N. I think we can both agree that V Lounge is no five star restaurant, however the quality of food is nothing like how you described it. You get a decent meal with a good portion for a great price. It also does have competition (if you can call it that) speaking of Holy Basil's 'Caravelle' just down the road which I can honestly say is nothing compared to V Lounge. As a regular customer I can agree on the fact that their service hasn't been great in the past, although i have notice how much it has improved over the last few months. Their widely ranged menu satisfies my cravings for savory, sweets, and both hot and cold drinks! I especially love the fact that they give us so many different options for some of their menu items, such as the various flavours of toppings on the fried ice cream! Yum! Their renovations along with their new furniture have given them a unique ambiance like no other place, which I guess is part of the reason why it's sometimes hard to find a table, especially if you want to experience their great outdoor seating area. If you're looking for a place to enjoy a nice meal/dessert or even to simply catch up with some friend over a cup of coffee, I highly recommend the relaxing atmosphere of V Lounge. read more

I always go to v lounge for dessert and usually order the churros...lately it seems to shrunk in size but the price is still the same..Also they have not change the picture in the menu book.the serving still looks big..need to update the menu guys..maybe i thought because it is winter thats why it shrunk lol...will.not be ordering that dish again read more

Not even going to bother being professional about this. I WAS ABSOLUTELY APPALLED TODAY that I have to share this. They served me something they called "cheese fries" but quite honestly I thought I was being thrown into the ocean, thats how salty it was. I WAS IN DISBELIEF. Their salad seems to have been an attempted replica of J's kitchen's steak salad, too bad that f**ked up real bad. I've never eaten a salad thats made me feel so guilty, it was like drinking mayo. Had the same experience as Mel (hair in my food and still charged). We use to be regulars even though it was so expensive and lots of surcharges eg swapping veggies for salad or choosing a different sauce. The new menu is just as expensive ($60 for two people). Their 'house rules' aka we can't be bothered to accomodate or change anything for unless you pay a zillion dollars. "Surcharge $5 for any alterations the menu, Surcharge $5 for ordering 3 or more sides (wtf is that about), $20 eftpos minimum, public holiday surcharge, surcharge if a person doesn't spend more than the minimum".. so on. What a joke. Was here last thurs, my sister ordered pasta with extra mushrooms (extra $3). She found hair on her mushroom. The waitress acted like it was standard and went back to the kitchen. By the time hers non hairy pasta came out, I finished. Best bit was that they still made her pay for her pasta AND the extra for hairy mushrooms. Top management right there! This place was half empty on a Thursday..hmm. Also food is average so don't bother. read more
