Ok, to put it mildly, Dr. Burkett is a miracle worker!
He…read morewas my dentist for three years and, for a dental visit, he was always great. His staff is top notch and always kind, professional and caring. When I moved eight months ago I was kind of sad, to lose a professional who I had complete trust in. But three hours is a long drive.
So, I bravely scheduled an appointment with a local dentist that I liked, but had a LONG wait for a cleaning. I've always been very diligent with my 5-6 month cleaning schedule and they threw me off.
But, just before I moved a cap came lose (good timing) and Dr. Burkett recemented it, but also warned it might not last, and right he was. So when I called the new, local dentist, where I was still waiting for an appointment, they were super kind and told me I needed to get in to the dentist the next day. Hoping he was as good as extractions as Dr. Burkett, I arrived, had X-rays and was told because the tooth was so close to the sinus I had to see the oral surgeon in Corpus. That took another week, and he was a complete sloth, and I'd never use him. After 5 hostile minutes I was showing myself out wondering what my next step was. Wait weeks more for another questionable dentist, go to Mexico or drive 3 hours to Dr. Burnett in hopes that he could do the extraction.
I called Dr. Burnett's office and Melinda was so kind and helpful. This was a Thursday, and of course the Dr. was on vacation until Tuesday. WAH! But, despite being on vacation, he reviewed the xrays and worked me in on Wednesday, with antibiotics to ease the discomfort. He had no qualms about the location of the tooth.
Ironically, on Tuesday my bottom molar was acting funky. Really good timing, which is rare for me. Upon arrival, I was informed that it too needed to be removed.
Honestly, he is the only dentist that when he inserts the numbing agent, you don't even feel it. The same with the extractions. Truthfully, he is a miracle dentist, but a man of few words. He removed the first, started to leave, and I asked about the second. He replied that they were both out and pointed to the tray ( which I did regret looking at). I was given printed, extensive follow up directions and was called the next day to see how I was doing.
I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Burkett and his staff. That's probably why he has at least three thriving practices in the area.
Also, as a side note, I've never neglected my teeth. I inherited "Irish teeth", which are not the best. But I've spent a fortune in maintaining them with regular cleanings and exams, root canals, etc. I've always gotten compliments on my teeth until...the apartment I was living in became infested with toxic mold poisoning that severely impacted my health, including dental and vision issues. So frustrating...
But, don't hesitate to use Burkett Dentistry for your dental needs. They are all amazing!
A side note, as I was waiting, there was a plaque that said "RELAX". I told the DR it didn't work, and he said "I know"!
