Valentine was very responsive, they came right out to install a circuit for an EV charger. They came back out immediately when I had a small issue, not their fault. They immediately resolved it, even went the extra mile to mount the charger (I recently had surgery so could not do it myself) with no extra charge. I have to write an update, as I have so many more positive things to say about Valentine Electric! In the middle of a bad storm, our power went out. When the generator did not automatically turn on, we waited...still no power. While it was 11:30 on a Saturday night, I had to call the emergency number not knowing how long the power would be out, and as my elderly mother depends on power. I reached the owner, who after trying to reach a tech without success, immediately said he would come out to look at the generator! In the pouring rain (deluge would not be an understatement) he came and tried to fix the problem, even leaving to return home to get additional tools! (Again, it was a raging storm outside, and it was now past midnight!!!) The tech came the following week and was able to secure and repair the issue of the hanging wires. I can't say enough about the highest level of customer service demonstrated at every point from Paul, the owner, Terry, the technician, Julie, in the office, and the entire team at Valentine Electric. They went far and above, and we are so appreciative of their professionalism, thoughtfulness and caring attitude. read more

Horrid experience with these guys. They were supposed to show up at 11am. The guy called right before he was supposed to show up (10:15). I call back at 11am and nobody answers (receptionist says people were there??). When I call again at 11:45 because nobody showed I'm told it was my fault that nobody came because he called to confirm. Who calls right before an appointment and cancels if you miss the call?! I changed around my whole day for this appointment. The receptionist hung up on me when I tried to explain to her why they need to call to confirm more in advance to give people a moment to actually respond. UGH. read more

Very happy with their work. My first time using them, and will again. Two electricians arrived early at 730 am. They made sure to explain everything and gave me a few options for each addition. Added a few outdoor outlets, another in detached garage, then a big flood light to light the backyard. They were clean and didn't cut corners. They are very expensive I was charged 300 bucks for a 15 dollar led light fixture in my kitchen. Also the guy that gave me an estimate said he was going to put the input for my generator outside the garage. the next day the guy that installed it out it inside my garage. so the line now has to come out of the garage. Very disappointed I will not use them anymore. it's too bad that they do not care about repeat business. 2 stars because the job was done quick but not how they promised! read more

Average to below average electrician. I had a simple repair of a ceiling fan in my home and Valentine showed up promptly to help. After they diagnosed the problem I needed to order the part because they didn't have it with them. No problem there, but when the part arrived and didn't fix my problem I called Valentine. I had purchased a whole new fan now and simply asked them to install it at no charge because they blew the original diagnosis and that was $140 down the drain. To his credit I emailed the president and he responded, but he refused to stand by their poor diagnosis and insisted in the name of keeping his profit margin that he would not help me out. I would have to pay another $200+ to install the thing. There are plenty of great electricians who will stand by their work, use these guys cautiously. read more

Two light fixtures. Was told 175.00 per hour. Two guys show up and start work at 8:10 done by 8:50. He then gives me a bill for 1 1/4 for 232.00. Owner gets on phone and basically tells me he was doing me a favor by taking job. Two stars for workers. I'm sure they are told what to bill. Don't mind paying but only want to pay for the hours that are actually worked. read more

Very cordial phone service; quick response to my electrical needs. Called TWICE to confirm price (two men @ $170/hr) given other yelp reviews regarding pricing. They arrived, and one hour and ten minutes later, I was given a bill for $322.41. I asked why it's so high and was given two excuses: we charge for travel time to location, and the first HALF hour is $170. When I indicated I was not going to pay anything other than what I was told on the phone and that I was going to call the office, the technician called instead and was told to charge me the $170/hr. It seems this company pads the bill and will try to get away with it unless the customer stands his/her ground. read more

When a fallen tree limb ripped our electric meter from our Nyack, NY house and brought down power lines across our driveway on Thursday 2/25, Valentine Electric were the first electricians to answer my call and I couldn't be more grateful. Living in Chicago and having tenants residing in our house added to my concern and worry, but Paul (the owner) spoke to me personally and went to assess the damage that very day. We needed to have our entire existing 200 amp service disconnected and replaced. Paul made sure that the situation was safe until repairs could be completed. I received a thorough and detailed written proposal on Friday morning and their crew arrived early on Saturday morning to start--and complete--the job. Their professionalism, timely service and kind, personal communication with both me and my tenants was beyond compare.
