After going months without creative contact, it was refreshing to be around other artists and be able to talk about art without any shame or pretense! The facility itself is very clean and well-maintained. There is ample gallery space with plenty of opportunities for artist members and volunteers to showcase their work. The website is also very comprehensive and makes it very easy to look up upcoming opportunities, past successes, and current work and contact information of the artists it supports. Kudos to 40 West Arts for taking the plunge and creating a safe space for artists in the community!

I've been coming to 40 west for years and been an artist through them for 2 years, I had also talked to them previously about the bully and my fear and thought they would stand with me. They took a little while to respond and said they would look into it. When I filed the lawsuit against the bully, I sent on the cover sheet and said I would be happy to provide any evidence or answer any questions. I had been clear about needing a deadline of 9/30, I though a month and half to hear anything was more than reasonable, but they just ghosted me. So now I had to file a lawsuit against them to try and be treated equitably and so I can feel safe moving forward. having to do that, when I'm already dealing with someone who is unhinged is crap.

Belmar has over 80 vendors ranging from chefs, jewelers, vintners, artisans and creative entrepreneurs all situated *indoors*. The venue is vast and festive. Be sure to grab a shop and sip ticket ($35) and be rewarded with fun libations, a shopping bag and swag to boot. Heirloom Baking was on hand for a cookie workshop ($20), several food trucks were available for grab and go yummies and THE RINK was open for post shopping ice skating fun. The indoor portion is mostly music and lights. It's actually really well done. You can push different buttons and witness different light and music themes. I was surprised at how diverse the music was and how many musical choices you could choose. The outdoor version changes over time, but this time I was tracking nine fairies or nymphs, or like creatures, that encouraged harmony and love of nature. I scanned all nine spots and got a free little gift at the end. It's a cool, funky little space. Lots of nooks and crannies. A big papasan swing. Alien like animal sculptures. Plants everywhere. I can't remember what I paid, but it was nominal, and worth the little detour here. It's on Broadway, which parts of Broadway are lively and packed, but this one was a little more dead and vacant. The staff is super nice. The prices in the shop are reasonable for work by independent artists.

Closed now, but Opening SOON!…read more Because of both the renovation of the original church bldg. and also the expansion into the historic Astor House, Foothills Art Center has been closed for the better part of the past year. That will soon change when the original building becomes a Creative Campus for studios and the Astor House contains the galleries, a meeting room, reading center/library, refreshment kiosk and administrative offices. Targeted for March/April '24, both FAC buildings will be a major improvement and offer everything from classes and meetings to an increased outdoor patio and even a Short Edition dispenser for free English/Spanish phone-based stories, poetry and cartoons for both adults and kids to take with you!

She was expert, not just at glass, but also at teaching, and was great at working around my mobility limitations. My friend and I both decided to make glass bowls, and after these annealed over a 24-hour time frame, we ended up with lovely keepsakes. Expect to learn a lot in a very short time. The Experience is a little pricey, but worth it, especially considering the individual focus. Don't rush off--you'll want to explore the Gallery and pick up a few treasures (use your 7% discount the day of your Experience) and seek sale items. I fully expect to book another Experience!
