He gave me a bid to hang 3 cabinets ($300) and we discussed additional work like painting cabinets, stating a full day's work was $500, and he would need a down payment. He agreed to start monday 2/20/2023 at 8am. He showed up 5 hours late, took a full day's pay in advance, and instead of at least working a half day he immediately left stating he would show up the following day 2/21 at 7:30a. I starting worrying about him showing up at all since he already had the money, so I texted him at 6:45a letting him know I was expecting him at 7:30a. He said it would be 8:30a, then he showed up at 9:45a. I asked him to return the $500, work a full day, then he would get it back at the end of the day when he earned it. He said he spent it on a paint sprayer, but would return it and return my money and we could start over fresh then he left. Then he texted me about charging additional for gas and drive time, and refused to return my money or show up to do the work. His website states "Satisfaction Guaranteed" but I doubt I will see him again or my money. I am very sad about it and gave him every opportunity to do the honorable thing with integrity. I will update this if he returns my money.
