Extremely impersonal care, hard to get appointments, rude staff.

The most useless practice in existence! Made an appointment for my 16 year old daughter as I had been here previously due to excess/ irregular bleeding. They put her on medication that did not work and caused more bleeding, so we made another appointment to address this. We arrived this morning ( I took off work and took my child out of school for this appointment) when we got there they said that they were sorry but they couldn't see her because she had a community care secondary insurance. This child had been in pain and bleeding because of the medication they prescribed and they denied her to see a doctor to help with a problem they exacerbated! I will never go here again! I have been with this practice for the last 14years! I am blown away by their inconsideration for a child and their useless administration that made us an appointment in the first place. I would understand if this was the first time we had been to this practice and not had the information prior but this was not the case. Please avoid this place at all cost! read more

I have to write a review for my favorite because I mean when I tell you she made my delivery with my first baby go so easy and smoothly and so supportive I mean that from the bottom of my heart Arkell Lucas is a Midwife here and is the most sweetest, genuine person I've ever met. Avoid if possible. I've been a patient of 20 years. I've had painful cycles that have just gotten worse over time. I have made them aware. They have scripted me this or that. No lab work, no ultrasound, I'm told "you just have bad periods". The kicker is I lost my job and insurance this year, like a lot of other people. I asked if I could make a payment plan as I am uninsured & unemployed. Nope. I had to pay $320 from my rent $ to have services I've complained for 4 times this year (WHILE I HAD INSURANCE). I was later told this was a discounted rate. I guess I should be grateful for the rollercoaster ride this year. Doubling over in pain 20 out of 31 days is not a bad period. I have been a patient for 6 years, and I have never been happier to say that I am leaving your practice. Your office is 5 minutes away from me, but I am now going to willingly drive 30 minutes from my home to have my baby and for future annual visits. I only ever had a good experience with 1 doctor at the practice out of the 6+ that I've seen, the office is run down, apparently the regular billing system doesn't talk to the automated one, and I was charged $20 just to fax my records. I only regret that I gave you as many chances as I did. read more

Do not go to this place!! Since 2015 I've been trying to recover from the nerve damage cause by the NP Jackie Walsh. She should lose her license to practice. I wouldn't let her touch my dog let alone my pelvic organs. I specifically called to make sure they had everything that was needed for my exam. It was my first time there and I have never in my life had someone just walk in a do a pelvic exam without looking at notes or talking to me about my issues or concerns. I left there with agonizing pain. Numbness in my left butt cheek and several hours later I was in childbirth pain. I no longer can sit without pain for more than a few hours. Then I returned to see a doctor this time. I couldn't even feel an exam being done. I leave and the notes say congested pelvic veins !!! She didn't say a word to me but it was on my paperwork. I then contacted them and asked for all my records and they send just a simple typed out thing. I had to ask again to send the paperwork I had sent prior to my first appointment. I finally got that. I called several times to make sure they had a pediatric speculum and I was told they did. After the first appointment I waiting there and I see all the crap on the table to do a Pap smear and I see no speculum. So she walked in with it in her pocket and I didn't see it but she put it in and I was screaming to her to remove it, it felt like burning hot barbed wire. Afterwards I see a full size peterman speculum on the tray. She damaged my pudendal nerve. Google that it's a living hell. I hope she goes to hell for what she did to me. Here we are in 2021 and it's still damaged. Please do not see these people they are totally incompetent. My intuition said very loud DO NOT GO IN THERE!! My God I wish I had listened to that voice in my head. Save your life of suffering and stay away from this place. read more

Not sure why this place has such bad rating. I was there for a regular check up, got in and walked straight to the receptionist. She handed me paper work and told me to have a seat and to wait for my name to be called. After 30 minutes of waiting I finally got called to the back. For as busy as they were the nurse was very friendly, caring, and also made me feel comfortable. Once I was done with the nurse, I was sent back into a room. I waited for about 5-7 minutes for my main doctor to come in. I will say for my first time meeting and seeing this doctor, I do feel she could of introduced herself a little better and also feel like she could of gotten to know me a little better before examining me.(that is also just a personal preference). My doctor was very nice and got me in and out of my appointment very quickly, but also did make sure if I did have any questions or concerns which I appreciated. I will definitely be back for my next visit. read more

I saw Dr Dennis at the Collegeville office for the first half of my pregnancy. She was very kind and very lively. I would have loved for her to deliver my baby. I had an easy time making my appointments and was seen within 15 minutes of arriving to the office. Unfortunately, they have a really old U/S machine with horrible picture quality. I had a few scares and had to call the answering service to speak to a nurse/doctor after hours. The women who worked for the answering service was always rude and dismissive. Always. But the nurses/doctors always called back right away. I ultimately switched to Mainline OB because VFOBGYN only delivers at Phoenixville Hospital, which is a dump. The labor rooms were tiny, the beds were awfully uncomfortable, and I could not fathom laboring there for more than 10 minutes. read more

Dr. Siegel is a wonderful caring Dr. I was experiencing some difficulty with a situation while my regular Ob was switching offices and really wasn't able to be attentive. When i went to my appointment she was so wonderful and genuinely concerned for my well being. I will continue to be a patient there. read more

If you go here, TRUST YOUR INSTINCT AND ASK FOR SECOND OPINIONS! It's unfortunate that this practice is so close to home, because I would rather drive ANYwhere but here. I initially had no intention of visiting this practice after researching reviews. However, some problems early in pregnancy prompted me to get in for an early appointment and give it a chance. I was seen a good handful of times in the time period of a month. None of the doctors I saw EVER came in with my file or previous notes. None of the doctors were ever comparing/reviewing my history to what was happening at that moment. I was prompted to sign papers to schedule a d&c after being told my pregnancy had ended. The doctor did not review my blood work results and those had not been shared with me. At the time I was being pushed to schedule the D&c "immediately", I repeatedly asked for my blood draw results, learning that my levels suggested that my pregnancy was proceeding normally. I was told that the dr "should have" seen those. I called the dr later, having a d&c scheduled for the following day, for reassurance on his reasoning. He didn't have any, except that he didn't see the baby's heartbeat on these low-grade portable ultrasound machines at 6.5 weeks. I asked him if the baby was measuring small and he said it measured 6.5 weeks. He told me I could go get a private scan if it made me feel better. Well, I DID! And, I am now almost 27 weeks pregnant with a perfectly healthy baby. I understand it was early, but these doctors do not really study your record or history, and they sure do not take the measures or precautions of following up on such a major diagnosis/decision before pushing surgery. I am very disappointed. And, they had no trouble at all threatening me to collections for the $100 I owed them for the "ultrasound" that misdiagnosed the "missed abortion" that I did not have. read more

These are the most unorganized people I have ever run into. Not only do they lose records and make you fill out the same thing multiple times because they lost but they act like its your fault. Switched doctors to a much better one, paid the $20 to transfer records and still 2 months after they cashed the check they still have not sent the records. My appointment was scheduled for 3:45. I left work 1.5 hours early--without pay--to get there in plenty of time. On the way, there was a snow squall that lasted about 20 minutes where cars were almost at a stop. I got to my appointment 8 minutes late. I sat for 2 minutes waiting for the receptionist to explain paperwork to the patient before me. When it was my time at the window the receptionist told me I couldn't be seen by the doctor cause I was 10 minutes late. Really? I've never been turned away from a doctor's office for being 8 minutes late because of a snow squall. I made another appointment at a doctor's office who cares about their patients. I'm 35 weeks pregnant and switched to Mainline.. making that stressful of a decision so late into my pregnancy should be an indicator as to how terrible it is at VF. Where to begin... It was a red flag that at the end of every appointment I was given a cup to bring back a urine sample at the following visit. When I explained I come To my appointments from work and I dont Feel comfortable traveling from work with a urine sample, I received rolled eyes and was told they don't have the time to let me give the sample at the office. The one time I forgot To bring a sample I was scolded at like a child and reminded again "we don't have time for you to do this here so don't let it happen again." I am a patient, not a number. Dr. Pineda is the rudest and most unprofessional doctor I've ever met in my life. It's my first pregnancy, and when I asked For education on what gestational diabetes was and what a positive result would mean should I fail My test, she rolled her eyes and replied "it would mean your baby is too large and too difficult to deliver with too many complications. If you are so concerned with with so many questions we can just make this simple and automatically put you as gestational diabetic and you will see my dietician and report 6 sugar samples a day. We don't have time to answer so many questions." As she typed away on her laptop and I began crying, she finally looked up at me and said "can we just get your belly check over with?" I thought maybe I am Being overly sensitive and hormonal, however, at my next appointment 2 weeks later, one of the staff asked me very concerned how my apt w Dr. Pineda went. I said not great... "I was afraid of that... we receive at least one call per day from women threatening to leave because she makes them cry during visits. I dont Know how she still has a job here, it's been an issue for a long time. Please let the other doctors know of your experience because we have to keep documenting when this happens!" I did, and was told she probably had an off day and everyone loves her.. seemed like it was more of a way to cover their ass because she's a fellow partner. When I did Let them know I would be leaving since she was on call around my due date and I couldn't Imagine her delivering my baby, they had a meeting with the partners and all agreed she would not deliver if I agreed To stay. I should have just left then, given how often all of the employees were rude, in addition to the fact that the Doctors are only in Collegeville on Monday and Tuesday mornings or early afternoon, which was not convenient for my work schedule. I was forced to take appts at the locations that were further just to get an apt later in the week. 1-2 weeks out of the month there are actually no doctors in Collegeville. It's very inconvenient for patients who cannot leave work on a Monday or Tuesday morning. Finally, the hospital tour... Phoenixville hospital, which felt like a scary movie. I had to use the restroom when I got there and was directed to the employee bathroom (not sure why) but it was filthy! Mold around the toilet, dirty seat and floors, a dirty plunger in the corner. I couldn't believe this was where the staff used the restroom! Then, I began My tour.. which consisted of a tiny, depressing room for a delivery room, where I was told by the nurses "this is way too small to have anyone other than your husband so don't plan on having anyone else in here." I was So confused, as I had multiple conversations w my NP about my mom and sister being in delivery. I was Rudely told "we are not tripping over your family, okay? You can have your husband and maybe your mom. We will only allow a doula. Who did you even ask? Why would you ask a nurse?you should have asked YOUR DOCTOR OKAY? You're not bringing anyone else in here unless it's a doula." Wow, okay I think I'm finished my tour. You're all rude, the hospital is disgusting, oh and there's one mother giving birth on the entire floor! The entire floor and nursery was empty! It was so creepy! Like a nightmare. When I walked by the nursery to see only one baby in the entire room, the nurse closed the blinds. Had I taken the tour in the beginning I would have switched a long time ago. The only people I actually enjoyed talking to at my visits who seemed to care about the patients was the front desk girl, Kendra at collegeville, and a head nurse at Phoenixville. The rest of the staff treats you like a number and an inconvenience to their day. I had My first apt w mainline and I couldnt Believe the doctor actually took me to her office after my belly check just to have 1:1 time with me to go over any questions or concerns. I wasnt used to this 1:1 treatment, and she was shocked They never did this at VF. I reminded her they are in a rush during every appt and don't even allow urine samples on site, I have to bring it ahead of time. Again, we aren't patients we are numbers. First off I want to say that Dr. Cadieux is absolutely amazing. She takes time with you and really listens to your concerns. However, she is incredibly hard to schedule. I scheduled my annual appointment far in advance, and then a month before, the office called me and had to cancel my appointment. So I was stuck with the NP Concetta Poidomani. I left this appointment in tears. I was having serious concerns and she was dismissive of my fears, literally throwing her hands up in the air and yelling "I don't know!" when I was trying to ask a question. The nurse I saw, Connie, was fantastic, and when I told her the problems I was having she recommended a PAP smear even though I wasn't quite 21. I told Concetta this and she completely blew it off and said the nurse was wrong. I had to beg her to physically examine me. She was also completely unprepared, she did not look at my record at all before entering the room and treated me like a new patient even though I had been there several times. I left the appointment in shock at how absolutely horribly I was treated. Please, Concetta, get a different job. read more

It took me 2 years to write this review but I have to do this now to save some other women from the worst doctor at Valley Forge Obgyn dr. Cantarella. I moved from New York when I was 5 months pregnant so obviously loosing a great obgyn there was already a headache. Not knowing anything about practice around here I went there because it was the closest one to the hospital and the place we moved into. On my first visit I had HER and she was so rude and unpleasant that I was praying the next time I won't get HER and she won't be the one that delivers my baby boy . Long story short she was !!! I have a 7 year old and I know the feeling when you about to deliver. So I call the hospital because I was in excruciating pain and she told me to stay home and count my contractions. She basically told me don't come cause I will send you back home . What an answer especially when I told her I'm hurting and I know baby is coming. So about 2 hours later I arrived to the hospital because my water broke. I was crying shaking hurting like never before and nurse told me I'm 9cm dilated and that I'm not going to be able to get an epidural . Doctor Cantarella didn't even come to the room to check on me . She was sitting in the hallway just looking. I never seen anyone working in this field being more miserable in their job then her. Nurses were more then angels and because of them I got an epidural but that was so risky because I was jumping every second from pain. I got to the hospital at 7.30 and by 8.30 my baby was born. Cantarella went home without saying a word and dr.Siegel delivered my son . Nurses did all her job. Cantarella didn't even come once to check on me ... her patient that pays her bills and put food in her mouth !!! She should have her license revoked. This person should be the one you trust with all your heart when it comes to birthing a child. She is nothing like that. Horrible horrible experience. There is plenty of good doctors there but beware of her. Till this day my blood boils when I think about that day and HER. read more

Worse experience EVER. Aside from the receptionists being extremely rude and the over all administrative part of the office being disorganized.. As a patient you feel like your on a conveyor belt. The doctors are quickly in and out, leaving little time to actively listen to you or allowing you to understand them or ask any kind of questions or guidance. Dr.Dennis lied to me and Dr.Cohen couldn't have been more annoyed that I disturbed his slumber. I was scared and in immense pain, I called and left a message with the answering service. He called me back quickly which was nice but than was soooo incredibly rude. Never seeing/treating me irritated he told me he was SURE I was fine. I said "how ? How are you sure doctor you don't know who I am ?" Than he said well I can't be without seeing YOUUU... but we're not open till 9, so you have 2 options you can wait or if don't want to wait go to the e.r. that's it." Well I wasn't fine , it was the worse case scenario. Dr.Cadieux helped me when I went in . She is kind and compassionate. Unfortunately for me though the damage can't be undone. I do not trust the staff nor do I believe they care about the patients enough. And after that awful morning it would be so uncomfortable to ever bump into Dr.Dennis or Dr.Cohen. I would personally recommend Dr.Cadiuex. She really cares about her patients, the nurses were kind too. Anyhow, as a whole I wouldn't never ever recommend this office to anyone. You take an oath to help people and is a huge responsibility and commitment , and with that its not okay to lie or omit truths. read more

I scheduled an appointment here on 6/24 and was told I needed a referral. For a regular wellness visit. My insurance doesn't require referrals (and most do not) for wellness visits but the office insisted. I contacted my primary doctor to have the referral sent, which they did. I get to my appointment today and the desk clerk tells me there is no referral on file. I show her the message from my primary saying it was sent to Tricare (military insurance). It was only THEN that I was told the referral needed to be sent to the OB office, not to Tricare. It's not Tricare requiring it but the OB office. She then told me that they're in contract negotiations with Tricare and are themselves requiring patients of Tricare to get referrals from their primary physicians, which is ridiculous. Just drag the patient through the mud while you figure it out. I pay for my health insurance and don't need some 20-something desk clerk with 3 inch nails and eye lashes telling me I can't see a doctor without proving to their office I have coverage. They don't cover my bills! I pay their salaries with the business I bring there! She kept asking me where they sent the referral and when and how and I actually had to inform her "I don't work for my doctors office." Other nurses were waltzing around like they didn't hear what was going on, but they did. It's THEIR job to verify referrals and call insurances companies to confirm coverage. Not my job. I already have a job. A miserable staff and a miserable experience. I didn't get to attend my appointment. No one was willing to help the situation. They were only looking to point the finger at someone else instead of doing their own jobs. This will be the last time I visit this poor excuse of a professional medical facility. read more

I came to valley forge for over 17 years. In 2001 they delivered my oldest daughter and after that they delivered my next three daughters. I loved them so much recommended them to everyone. Well the past couple of years I finally see what these bad comments are talking about. They don't care anymore, make you wait FOREVER in the waiting room, spend an eternity waiting some more in the exam room, only to have them spend less than a minute talking to you and answering none of your questions. I suggest if you insist on going here and you have questions to write them down and hand them to the doctor as soon as they walk in the room because before you can even take a breath the doctor leaves the room and you sit there thinking of everything you wanted to ask. I'm looking elsewhere and will no longer be using them, I suggest you do the same. My youngest was born in 2009 and in those nine years it's gone downhill so bad. read more
