She kept arguing with me but finally called to someone in the back all the while she could easily see the sign on the wall from where we were standing. I'm like woman...I ain't trying to steal $2 worth of vases from the goodwill!! Gah!!! She needs to either know her job and what's going on at her job or find something easier for her to comprehend!! My wife needed a capo and picks for her new mandolin, so we did an on-line search for nearby music stores. Rockbridge Music of Lexington Virginia popped up in the search. So we made the 40 minute drive to the historic part of Lexington. As we approached the area we drove through VMI campus area where we saw the cadets and buildings of this historic institution. Inside the music store we were greeted warmly by the owner. She was very helpful and hospitable during our visit. She showed us a selection of capos that would work well for the mandolin. We chose one that fit our needs. She also helped us shop for the heavy picks the wife was interested in. We chose several different ones to purchase. The prices were very reasonable. The owner did a great job assessing our musical interests and steered us towards a series of music books we had never known before. We purchased a Bluegrass and a Christmas volume from this series. After we made our purchases we continued to chat with the lady and discovered she was a musician that plays in bands in the area. We learned a little about the local musical scene. Great service, great selection and good prices! If we are in the area again we'll come back.

I went in last week looking for a shirt for my husband to be told that "True Grit" no longer made this shirt and was directed to another shirt which I bought. I did ask if I could return and was told yes. I later looked up True Grit and found that they indeed still made the shirt and I was able to order which I did. When I went to return the shirt I had purchased, I was told that their system did not allow them to put the amount back on my card and I would have to take a store credit. This is not told to me when I asked is I could return and it is nowhere on the receipt that this is their practice. Now I have $300 on a charge card for a $150 shirt. If this is what there policy is, they need to tell you upfront or at the list print on the receipt. They could have offered a cash return knowing I was upset or at least get a new system that will allow them to credit your credit card.

They no longer provide shopping bags but are pleased to charge a buck for the kind of tote-bags many charitable outfits send me for free. The CDs doubled in price and the knick-nacks are also quite a bit more expensive. Clothing is up a little. Glassware has gone up a lot and new goods are prominently displayed at regular retail prices. The books have been relegated to the back o7f the store and a nice lady who organized the books is not there any more. They are no longer organized in any manner.

It's a medium sized location with separate areas for men, women, appliances, furniture, electronics. I usually go in looking for particular things which I did not find this time. The good thing about goodwill is there will always be a new variety and by supporting them you are also supporting their cause to employ people with disabilities and/or disadvantages.
