Although I looked over the dresser, opened the drawers, etc., I did not move all the lamps and many assorted knick knacks. I then paid for the dresser and made arrangements to pick it up the following day. When I returned to pick it up, there was a VERY LARGE split in the wood, ALL the way across the entire top of the dresser and way too wide to repair by any method. This major damage had been covered by the runner, the lamps and the knick knacks. So . . . Usually, normally, sellers will be transparent about damage, flaws, chips, cracks etc., and then it's up to the buyer to move forward with the purchase or not. Because the damage was so extensive, I did not think the dresser could be transported without breaking completely in two. Because the damage was hidden/concealed, I felt deceived. I pointed this out to the staff, who launched into their "no refunds" spiel before I could even finish my sentence. I was rather abruptly offered to the "opportunity" to leave the dresser (and my $400) behind if I no longer wanted it. Still, I extend Kudos to Twice Is Nice for serving seniors in need!! Thank you to the volunteers who offer their time. Thank you to the folks who donate. If an item is damaged, you don't have to attach flashing lights or a neon sign, but it's not "nice" to cover it up, then pile it high with multiple heavy items making the damage almost impossible to detect until too late to make an informed purchase decision.

Wonderful finds in excellent condition! I always spend too much, but come home with great things!…read more If you make it to Charlottesville, I highly recommend this place look out because Twice is Nice has two stores in the same general vicinity.

An amazing organization with deep roots here in Lynchburg, Virginia. Long before the big flashy…read morenon profits that bring in the big bucks to help locally, regionally and even nationally.....Lynchburg Daily Bread was on the front lines on the war against poverty and food insecurity. I have volunteered here for 5-7 meall services over the course of 11 years(not nearly enough) and every time I do, I am kind of left speechless by the amazing mission they are leading daily and how they are doing so with the quality and professionalism that is frankly, so strong that no 5 star rating could ever do it justice. For me to witnessing this impact first hand and seeing how they turn limited resources into a high quality, life altering, survival operation is invigorating. There are SO many non profits in Lynchburg, some would say to many but for me this is the model and this is the gold standard for which all others should follow. From their amazing Executive Director to their daily volunteers, all it takes is one trip over to their location on Clay Street location and you too, will realize it is the best of the best. For me, a deep breath is needed because if you are unfamiliar with this mission and environment, it can be jarring. For me stepping outside of my comfort zone is why I will, God willing, one day be able to provide them with a large contribution. I just want to thank all the staff and volunteers as you all are real life heroes. The number of lives you impact is astounding and something you all should be deeply proud of. Folks if you are a rational human being and believe that everyone in this great country should have access to the essentials, namely food and water then open up your checkbook and make a donation. If you are more of the, I don't have alot of money, but I do have 500 Facebook friends, host your own food drive....they will even provide you with a list of needed items AND if you arrange it ahead of time, they will bring a company truck to pick up the food you collected. No excuses, times are tough, lets help them today, tomorrow and as long as you can.
