Contacted them to check availability and for an estimate. Very responsive and were able to move our larger items, such as appliances, toolbox, and a weight-lifting machine. Confirmed our move out date and asked for a time. I was told 0900 to 0930. Waited until 1013 for the movers before receiving a call from one of the employees, stated they had a call out but would be there soon. At 1045 only 2 very inexperienced movers showed up in a UHAUL. Informed me another guy was coming and he would be there in an hour. They started with the boxes and pure chaos. They went from the kitchen to the living room, to the 2nd floor bedroom, to the sheds, back upstairs, in no order or organization at all. Every couple trips the movers would stop to check their phones or talk. After 2 hours, the 3rd mover showed up. He entered with a bad attitude. No greeting, just a "whats going" and preceded to complain about everything they had to move. Went to move my dresser and I explained it needs to go vertical to get around the corner. 45mins later and bickering amongst themselves the dresser made it down the steps. Now at 4 hours and still no progress. I called my husband to come home from work to help the situation. When moving/unhooking appliances movers were using ChatGPT. My husband unhooked everything for them, with HIS tools. We paid extra for an appliance package. They were measuring the fridge with an apple app. My husband offered to help and explained how the doors may have to come off. They brushed him off and said it was fine. They wrapped the fridge and attempted to wedge it out. Took off the front door and tried again to wedge it out. I noticed the hardwood floors were scuffed and explained that they are to lift furniture, not drag it. After 30 mins, my husband jumped in and took off the doors to the fridge. Next the movers had my fridge on its side! They once again had it stuck. They lifted it up and dropped it on concrete! All the while it was unwrapped. The shelves came crashing out of it. I asked if they had straps to go under and lift it and they did not. Asked if they had ever moved a fridge and the one stated he had not, clearly. Once it was out they were using my husband's dolly and continued to use it during the move. The hardwood floor had deep scratches and the doorframe holding the screen door was ripped off the wall. My husband and I started wrapping and moving items ourselves that they left upstairs, so they wouldn't forget them. At this point my husband called the owner who said he would send extra help to unload at the new house. 6 hours of packing ONE load and we got to the new house. The 2 movers that came were very polite and instructed the other 3 movers how to safely move our items, AFTER they dropped our dryer on the steps. The owner, Shane showed up at 1900 to help, as I was moving items off the truck myself. Around 2030 they brought the last load. There was more to move but we had run out of time and patience! Shane made it clear that he would make this situation right. He would give a partial refund by the next day and speak with our property manager about the damages caused. He never called us back, didn't contact our old property manager. We spent the next 2 weeks trying to contact him, as he dodged our calls. Shane finally spoke to the property manager and claimed that the movers didn't damage the door, but we did. He then tried to tell us that he would see how much the damages cost HIM prior to our refund. The two are SEPARATE issues. After more calls, texts, and messages we got ONLY $375 back, out of the $1900 we paid Shane. 9 hours later (8min drive from each house), property damaged, moving and wrapping our own items, and still having to rent a UHAUL to get what was left. We understand no shows happen, when spending this amount of money for a service, our belongings, time, and homes should have been moved efficiently and treated with respect.

Do NOT using Green Valley Moving. They are penny pinchers. They recently moved my mom's…read morebelongings (full size bed and mattress, couple of nightstands, dresser, and two recliners) last month in Harrisonburg from Bellaire at Stone Port to English Meadows. Per Apple Maps, both of these facilities are less than 8 miles to Green Valley Moving with a drive time of 15 minutes each way. The two facilities are 2 miles apart with a drive time of 5 minutes. The movers showed up at Bellaire at 8:30am to begin the move and left English Meadows after the move at 9:45am. They took a 15 minute pit stop between the two places (left Bellaire at 8:50am and showed up at English Meadows at 9:10am). I should also note they were actually finished up with the unpack/move by 9:35am but took about 10 minutes to get the bill/invoice written up then left with the truck at 9:45am. So the actual move time was really less than 60 minutes. However, they billed her 2.5 hours claiming the truck left Green Valley at 8am and didn't return to Green Valley until 10:20am (which is technically 2 hours, 20 min and not 2.5 hours...). The moving contract does specify it includes travel to and from the job, but given the max. 8 miles distance of both Bellaire and English Meadows from Green Valley as noted above, it should have only been 15 minutes to and from the job or 30 minutes max. travel time total. That added to the actual move time of less than 60 minutes really should have been a total charge of no more than 1.5 hours. When my wife first called to contest the bill, they wouldn't budge and said their truck left at 8am and returned at 10:20am so the 2.5 hour charge was valid. When I subsequently called back and pointed out the extensive travel time (at least 30 minutes each way for only 8 miles?), their 15 minute pit stop between locations, 10 minutes to write up the invoice, PLUS technically overcharging by 10 minutes (2.5 hours charged despite them admitting the truck was gone for 2 hours, 20 minutes), they agreed to only reimburse my mom for 25 minutes (for the 15 minute pit stop/break and for the 10 minute overcharge) so they still ultimately penny-pinched her for the excessive travel time to and from the job plus the 10 minutes it took them to write up the invoice. The other thing worth noting is or thinking about if you ever use Green Valley is how do they charge folks when they have back-to-back jobs. Do they double dip and charge the first client for travel time from the first job and then charge the second client for travel time to the second job despite it technically only being one trip? Think about that... Do NOT use these guys. Charging 2.5 hours for actual labor time of less than 60 minutes for locations only 8 miles max to/from their facility is ridiculous. Penny pinchers!
