I would strongly recommend AGAINST hiring this company. They removed trees from my neighbor's yard and managed to know out our overhead power line with their bucket truck. Imagine claiming to be a professional tree removal service and not being mindful of overhead lines? Do yourself a favor and hire actual professionals. This company could have redeemed itself, but they could not pull it together. I could be giving a stellar recommendation right now, but the owners and their toxic personalities ruined everything. Let's start with the good part. As far as I know (based on my realtor's view), they did work quickly to remove the tree that had fallen, in a timely manner, and I assume, cleaned up properly. We are three sisters who just lost our mom, and after 2 months of staying in TN, we finally all went to our respective out-of-state homes, and then this darn tree fell right before the pictures were scheduled for the listing. The problem came when we had no clear way to pay them remotely and my option was to write a bank check that would get to them just 6 - 10 days after the service. It was promptly initiated, and I was happy to email them the proof so they could be comfortable doing business with us. Shockingly, they do not have an email address, so I ended up taking a screenshot and texting it to them. The number of texts and phone calls was nothing short of bullying over the course of the week. While trying to figure things out with my bank, Clifford's wife texted me so many times with so many threats, that I finally had to ask my realtor to do me a solid to collect money from me via Venmo, and then organize with this company to drop off a cashier's check. This exchange ended with a threat to put a lien on my dead mother's house, with all kinds of threats involving lawyers, threats to tattle on me to a realtor in town that is not ours, talking about how they don't need our money because they make $50k a month, but they better get our money. None of it was necessary, nobody was holding out on them. I know they cannot put a lien on the house as quickly as 7 days after service, and so many things need to happen for a judge to agree to it. But I think desperate people who don't make $50k a month, do desperate things, like straight-up mobster bully a couple of women grieving their mom's passing just trying to get all the things done, over a $750 tree removal bill. I am confident that anyone who promises to place a lien on your home, not even a week after a service is complete, does not have the proper credentials or insurance to perform such service. So I looked them up on the TN Secretary of State Website, and I was correct. They are not listed as an active company. I will also assume they are not adequately insured, but that's just speculation. You do you, I am not here to tell you what to do in your life, and they did do a pretty good job with the task they were hired to do. But after reading other reviews, we might have been the exception. You might just consider going with a company that is licensed and insured and doesn't have gas-lighting on its resume. read more

I have had 4 customers call us saying we had been in their yard and the trees were torn up. I asked them to look at the check and it waw VALLEY TREE out of Boyton Valley in Manchester. They bid the jobs, don't get the job and they when someone is not at home they go to the yard without permission and start on the job. By the time the owners find out the yard is already a mess. The customer pay them when they have all rights to run them out of the yard and NOT PAY THEM. I have talked with the owner who likes to call everyone "Sweetheart", so if you call these guys KNOW they will sgtart a job in your yard with or without permission. BEWARE OF VALLEY TREE. What a joke the day they came to do the job their bucket and chipper truck were in the shop, so they climbed the tree and starting to topped it , so they put the chipper of by my compost pile and starting dragging the limbs across my gravel drive now I have a lawn full of gravel that has to be cleaned up. The other 3 trees were to be topped off at gutter line they barely trimmed them at all ,to top thing off they had to borrow my ladder to get into the trees. Contacted the owner he said he would talk to the crew and get back to me never happened. The were just a bunch of con artist out to make a quick buck. I read more

I just received a phone call from the owner of Valley Tree Service threatening to take me to court because I didn't leave a good review for his company. My review was honest and him harassing me isn't going to make me back down. The company did a good job for the most part, but did not complete the job as promised. When I called him about it, he denied saying he would do what he promised, and then offered to come back out and finish the job for an extra $600. I hate to leave bad reviews but I hate even more for people to lie and take advantage of others. If he wants to take me to court, I will gladly face off with him in front of a judge. I will not be intimidated by this man, or anyone else. read more

We had Clifford come out to give us a quote on topping a large maple tree and cut off some broken limbs from a large pine tree. The crew arrived on time, prepared, and with enough people to complete the job in one day. They did all the work they promised and cleaned up after themselves. I am completely satisfied with their work and will call them back again as the need arises. read more

I do not recommend This company. I was a little short of the estimate, could he leave the stump or something and Clifford said he could help me out and do it all for me. They cut the tree into 4 to 5 foot logs and made 7 or 8 piles and cut the 15 foot trunk down and said someone would come back and get the logs and trunk. No one came back. I called every week for 4 weeks and could only reach a crew member who just said they were working on it. When I called after dark hoping to get the owner, I got him. When I questioned him about cleaning up the tree all over my yard he went into some kind of steroid rage and hung up on me. Now I'm stuck with logs all over my yard. Save yourself the hassle and get a professional tree service. read more

I would not recommend this company. I, unfortunately, paid for the services before the job had been completed. The job was left unfinished. And upon calling the company to finish the job, I was met with a beligerant response and was hung up on. This company is highly unprofessional and I do NOT recommend. I would not use this service. They cut down 3 large trees and some small ones. They damaged my yard and my house by dropping the trees without cutting enough off. I told them about the damage to my gutter and they said they would fix it but have never showed up and will not return my calls. I also paid extra to grind down a stump and they left half of it there above ground. I would not recommend this tree service. read more
