Comfortable, clean facilities ranging from skilled nursing through assisted living to Indepedent…read moreapartments. What stands out as extraordinary is kindness and friendliness of the staff. They seem to genuinely like working with each other and with the residents and nurture a climate that is welcoming and warm. They achieve this at a level that was immediately noticeable and rarely seen elsewhere. I have worked in a nursing home. The days are not easy but the feeling here is still unhurried, important to be careful and of service but manageable. Assisted living has three levels of support that can be added to the plan so people in need of extra help can still live independently. I would suggest that community activities could be improved if coordinators made efforts at solicitation and invitation during meals. My wife and I were playing cards with another couple and the conversation had lulled a bit and the woman looked at me and said "It's so darned quiet here." I said, "Yeah, Delores. We need some loud music." We both laughed but I was only half kidding. It is so sad to me that old people and disabled are so segregated in our society. It doesn't make for very healthy, engaging communities.

When dad and I walked in to find his new room, the facility was impressive. The staff was very…read morehospitable, management was knowledgeable about dad's situation. The residents were very nice, welcoming for the couple of meals that I was there for. The building is beyond nice for what I would have expected for an assisted living place, and I worked at one for a couple of years. When dad moved in, the building guy was there to mount the tv and inspect the apartment to ensure it was up to our expectations.

The aid staff is not well trained and they are very short handed especially on the weekends. I've…read morebeen there a few times and the staff didn't know where my mother was. The food is awful and very reliant on heavy starchy fillers and not fresh fruits or vegetables , and protein is practically non- existent . The cleaning staff is ok , but again not enough of them and my mother's room is always a mess & dirty, esp. the bathroom I don't know who does the laundry but every time I visit, my mother is missing clothes , sometimes I see other residents in things that I have bought her , but most of the time the clothes are just gone. When I brought this up to one of the supervisors she did nothing. So every time I visit now , I bring more things. The ED , John Joyner, is not accessible and it takes multiple times to connect with him. He is completely uncaring and tows the Jaybird company line. Residents get charged & charged & charged The administration is only interested in money and how much can they charge the residents. I had a box stored in my mother's closet and when they moved her to a smaller room, someone opened the box and when I asked where it was , it had been put in general storage not her room. They brought it to me and it had been opened , actually cut open as it had been taped and sealed shut, and have of the contents were gone. Again, John Joyner did not care at all. I'm in the process of moving my mother out of here , and I would recommend that nobody puts a parent, or loved one at this place.
