Icing on the cake: bottles of Prosecco waiting for you in the bedrooms, a lot of board games in case the rain ruins your trek plans, and great cakes !!!! The road to get there is very scenic, though perhaps a bit tricky if you're not used to drive in the mountain... Stay in the summer to take the trams to the top of the mountains to look out over the Alps, and be sure to see some of the many ancient castles located nearby. As of my last visit there a few years back they didn't take credit cards nor was English spoken there (for me that didn't matter, as I speak Italian, but that might be an issue for English-only speakers).
