Perhaps it was foolish of me to sell after hearing the quote for my diamond. It came along with the explanation that he feared he might damage the diamond while removing it from its platinum setting. A few years back I had brought the diamond elsewhere and was offered far more money, but I was not ready to part with it. The excuse that my coins should be in a case of some sort threw me off. I regret selling them here. I should have shopped around to learn the true value of what I was giving them. Of course, the transaction was easy to make. It took very little time to make the offer which only considered the metal value. I sold one rare $30 and 5 common $20 silver dollars in great shape and one 5oz bar $100 of silver - correct me if I am wrong Alex - but it seems I was not paid well. The silver bar alone @ spot value would have been 166 dollars.
