I had a reservation for a king size bed and a balcony view of the courtyard. I'm 6' 6" and only book king size beds. I don't fit on queen size beds. When I got there I was told they were all out of king size beds. I asked how that could be because I had a reservation. It's not like they didn't know I was coming or what room I had booked. She was very apologetic, and blamed their computer system. Typically when a hotel fails in some way, they try to make it up to the guest, especially when that guest is a frequent traveler. Not me. I was told all they could do was give me the queen and maybe when someone left they could move me into a king the next day. The next day I was moved into a king with a parking lot view. I wasn't given any extra points. I wasn't offered any free meals. I wasn't given a discount. I paid for a king with a courtyard balcony view. I didn't get that room. The staff were friendly and the hotel was a typical Marriott. Those weren't the problem. If I am to believe the lady at the desk, it was Marriott who overbooked and Marriott who failed me. I don't know why I wasn't offered any compensation for their failure. Business will probably take me back to Panama City in the future, but I don't think I will choose this hotel again. If I do, I'll have to call and verify that I will be getting what I pay for. There are a few things I expect when I travel. A clean room, the room I paid for, and high speed internet. I only got one. The room was clean. Marriott doesn't offer "high speed" internet. You'll get a throttled version that was probably considered high speed in the year 2000. But that's a different issue altogether.

It wasn't super busy when we arrived, but as the night went on, it picked up. Even though there weren't that many people there, the people who were there were partying. They had good music and the waitstaff was awesome. Our server danced with my friend at one point since there were way more women there than men. The DJ also played "line dance" music which got a lot of the ladies out of their chairs. The drinks are strong and pretty cheap because everything is cheap in Panamá compared to the States. When we left, the restaurant downstairs was hopping. It seems that Tántalo basically turns into a nightclub in the evening. We didn't eat at the restaurant, but they apparently have really good food. It is also a hotel. Not sure if the noise from the bar is a problem for hotel guests at night, but it is something to consider if you're planning to stay there.

I called and spoke to a gentleman and he was very nice however he advised this hotel was directly on the beach and I specified so you walk out and you are on the beach he stated yes again so I booked the hotel. I received the address the day we were leaving and it was 20 mins from the beach which is not was I was told when I called. I called hotels.com and they called the hotel. I was charged for a night and I wouldn't have even booked that hotel if I wouldn't have been given misinformation.

After…read morea few minutes reading I saw a bedbug in the bed closest to the bathroom at around 10 PM last night. Stripped the bed couldn't find anymore. At around 3 o'clock in the morning of the 31st, my wife was awakened because the bedbug was on her face. We found traces of other organic material on the sheets. We did take pictures see attached. Showered bagged all of clothing and PJ's and exited the room by 4:30 am. We went to the counter and advised the desk. They were very calm and acted as if it was nothing. I ask for a refund and cancelation of my second night in the hotel. There was no offer of assistance getting a room at another hotel or an apology for the dirty room. If there is wifi, we weren't informed. When we got to our room, it had a strong musky mildew smell and was very humid even with the a/c on. We had 2 full beds. The tv channels were fuzzy and the picture didn't even stretch across the screen. Since we're are Hurricane Irma evacuees ANYTHING was gonna be taken.
