I had a wonderful, relaxing stay at the Hilton Garden Inn Virginia Beach Town Center with my dad,…read moreand the highlight of our visit was the exceptional service from Ivenia at check-in. Ivenia was warm, attentive, and truly went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. She was thorough, professional, and had such a genuine, positive energy--it's clear she really cares about guests having a great experience. Even more impressive, we learned her birthday was the next day, yet she still showed up with outstanding service and a smile. She absolutely understood the assignment when it comes to hospitality, and her kindness made our stay even more special. The hotel was great, but Ivenia is what made it memorable. We'll definitely be back!

The front desk staff is courteous and professional. Loved the gym and pool amenities plus with Amex card holders you get $10 per guest to use however you would like or get credits. Other than that it's a tired, dated hotel that could use some TLC and carpet cleaning. The sheets were too small for the queen bed so they kept bunching up and removing itself exposing the mattress which was annoying to adjust. Not sure why Hilton doesn't have mattress cover protectors for sanitary reasons. Found hair and mysterious stains here and there so not much attention to detail on tidiness. Housekeeping came once during our 3 night stay.

Ok this is seriously an amazing place to go, it's beautiful, the lobby area is open and inviting…read morewith chandeliers in very large and comfortable sitting areas. The hallways to and from the restaurant are large and very inviting, beautifully decorated. There is a bar area that I think opens at 5pm. What really sticks out in my mind is everything is clean . I have stayed in hotels on the oceanfront that were extremely overpriced and dirty with the smell of weed everywhere. Not in Founders Inn and Spa. It smells clean and wonderful even in the hallways. The room was the perfect size for my friend and I and the amenities are amazing. Indoor and outdoor pools, we swam in both and they are beautiful. Pictures will be included with this review. The chairs by the pool are new and fancy they work well and just grab a towel on your way in and put it in the laundry basket on the way out. There are beautiful areas that look like English gardens to walk through with roses in them and gorgeous hardwood floors in the lobby and sitting areas. They have a lovely area with marble flooring that could be used as a first dance area for a wedding. If I was getting married again this is where I would go. There are brick walkways to and from the buildings where rooms are and where the Flowering Almond Spa is located. It is a calm and peaceful oasis in the middle of Virginia Beach. I'm not ending this review without telling you how beautiful and yummy the Swan Terrace Restaurant ( that is located inside the hotel) is for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We ate all three meals there and each were so good! It's so wonderful to swim, sit in the sun and then go shower in our room and dress up fancy (if you want to) then walk to the Swan Terrace Restaurant and have an amazing meal. Breakfast has a huge buffet with made to order omelets which my friend loved and pretty much anything else you can think of bacon, eggs, breakfast potatoes, make your own waffles, bagels, fresh fruit, grits ( one of my favorites) the list goes on and on and that was on a Monday morning. Then lunch is also a buffet with make your own salad options, homemade dressings, fresh fruit cut beautifully and lots of options from soup to grilled salmon, sliced chicken with a glaze and even chicken and dumplings. Then at the end of the buffet they had beautiful homemade desserts. Yum!!! I enjoyed our stay so much, it was so relaxing and awesome to be able to focus on reconnecting with a friend and not worry about anything else. We sat outside in two chairs by the pond that has a fountain in the center. We watched the ducks swim that we found out were actually rescued from a shelter. They are very happy ducks now and very beautiful. They swim around and it is so peaceful watching them and just talking with no worries. We met some great people just sitting in those chairs watching the ducks. Thank you Sam and Rachel for the great conversation. I can say definitely we will be back whether for a weekend getaway or a small vacay. The rooms are priced reasonably and the food is also. Bravo, Founders Inn and Swan Terrace Restaurant! Bravo!!! Encore Encore! We will be back soon, looking very forward to going back soon.

Our room was clean and comfortable and the beds were extremely comfortable. After our breakfast at the Swan Terrace we walked around the grounds. The grounds are well maintained and very peaceful. You would not even know you are so close to a busy roadway. I would recommend Founders Inn and would certainly stay here again if I was in the area.

I'm honestly surprised this location does not have more good reviews. I didn't stay here long only…read moreone night and I checked in pretty late but the time I spent here was pretty good. Our room was very clean and it looked how we would hope it would. Everything was stocked and ready to go. The breakfast was the usual IHG choices. My only complaint is there was no hot water available when I checked outside of breakfast hours and I couldn't find anywhere to fill up my water bottle. I used the work room and the Wi-Fi worked pretty good with my government laptop. I would stay here again.

The hotel shares a parking lot with Walgreens which came in super handy because my husband came down with a terrible head cold, so we had to buy every decongestant and cough medicine known to mankind. We walked to Walmart across the street to buy our cases of soda and bottles of wine to carry on to the ship. I forgot my belt for the formal night and found one for $10 at a women's clothing store in the same area, but we could have walked to TJ Max too. There's a Chick Fil A and a Target across the street too. We were happy about the 24 hr coffee and hot water which we needed for Theraflu and Emergen-C. Room was super clean. Had a mini fridge and microwave. We didn't make it to breakfast only because we were zonked from our red-eye flight and the sleep disrupting cough. All of the staff were incredibly courteous and professional. The Lyft ride, for a midsize vehicle to fit all of our luggage, to the port was $13. I would definitely recommend.

I stayed at this Homewood Suites location for 2 nights towards the end of October last month and it…read morewas a comfortable stay. Location was very convenient too, easy drive into Norfolk and Virginia Beach. I'll start off with the part where I F'd up by booking with a 3rd party that turned out to be a scam. I had arrived at the hotel and was trying to check-in. IF you see advertisements by Vio, showing cheaper prices, don't book with them. They're not legit at all and it was a s***show trying to coordinate with them to locate my booking, because the hotel definitely didn't have my booking in their system. Vio's customer service number doesn't work; it'll come up as "not in service" and then their online customer support, it's basically like dealing with an AI system. After about an hour trying to deal with that BS, I decided to take an "L" and just book a room directly with the hotel. Kudos to the professionalism and patience of the two ladies working that afternoon at the front desk for dealing with my cussing and annoyance at Vio. The room I got was pretty good. Bed was comfortable, shower water pressure was good. Room was a decent size. Only gripe was there was the only one elevator. All in all, a good first experience here, minus the Vio debacle. I would stay here again.

Possibly my worst stay at a Hilton branded hotel in a long time, maybe ever…read more It started with the digital key not working. I checked in online and hauled all my stuff to the room only to find out the door would not unlock. I had to carry everything back downstairs to get a hard key. The desk clerk, said (yea, we've been having some trouble with it. I checked it several times during my stay and it never worked. The next morning, I found my hard key card would not work either, which required another trip down to the from desk for a new one. The different desk clerk did not ask me for ID, which is good, because I didn't have any, but also didn't even bother to ask my name. Not very good security. The water fountain just off the lobby was out of service. Maybe that's a holdover from COVID, but with all the other problems, I doubt it. I tried to get ice on the 2nd floor, where my room was located. It had no sign, but did not work. I took the stair to the 3rd floor with the same result. Back to the front desk, where I was told to "try the 4th floor." Thankfully, that one worked. My ice bucket however had a crack in the bottom that ran from one side to the other, so it leaked like crazy as the ice melted. Not that I needed it, but the entire laundry room, not just a machine or two, was out of service. The bathroom sink in my room had a stopper that was not connected to the handle. As soon as water hit the stopper, it closed, filling the sink. The only way I could drain the sink was to take the stopper completely out. Hilton branded hotels have a fairly standard menu (embassy suites excepted.) Breakfast at this one had no fruit, no waffles, no yogurt, no oatmeal, and was limited overall. The elevators are set up very strangely, with one elevator (not a pair) somewhat near the lobby and a second one way down at the end of the L shaped hallway. I usually prefer the stairs anyway, but in this case, both stairways from the second and higher floors led outside the building rather than into the floor level hallway or lobby. Overall, the hotel was not well maintained or cleaned. There was an M&M or similar candy in the elevator I used during my entire stay. The one time I did hear some cleaning going on was 8PM vacuuming of the hallway. Even then I was a poorly done job. The room was a good size and I appreciated the small kitchen area. However, I doubt I will ever return to this specific hotel.
