It's hit and miss finding any value here. Dollarama stuff had been priced at 4X original. Sometimes the only deal it's the sale days at 30% of on Tuesdays but it looks like they increased prices to take that into account. read more

Expensive. Some of the things they sell can be bought for a similar price brand new. They have a wide variety of things, but the pricing is too high for second hand merchandise. Unacceptable. The only reasonable time to buy is when they have their 50% off sales. read more

Always a great experience... things have really turned around at this location. What a massive store, one of the biggest Value Villages I've been to, if not the biggest... huge selection and friendly courteous staff... It's really gotten out of hand how ridiculously priced things are at value village. I could actually go to a store in the mall and pay less than some of the items they have over priced. It's supposed to be a second hand store, which is supposed to mean lower prices! read more

Not my favourite Value Village. Have found a few gems but for the most part it's overpriced for the quality of the goods. Like other reviewers pointed out, dollar store products are often priced at double the original value. read more

Huge location! Lots of clothes. Lots of books, home decor, shoes. Bright, clean. Friendly staff. Close to other shopping. Well worth a visit. Picked up a nice pair of shorts for $5. Why buy new for staggering prices, when you can pick up new, and gently used for a fraction of the price. read more

After being a loyal customer to Valu Village for years, I will not be going back. My first gripe is that they are selling half used candles for $6.99 My other gripe is that they are selling stuff that have the original tags on them for a 15% or more mark up. I saw a flower pot I liked for $3.99 and was willing to buy until I turned it over there was a dollarma tag on it for $2.50. I also found a Joe shirt I really liked that they were selling for $10.99, original tag $3.49. I am disgusted with the price gouging. Goodwill will be my store of choice, much better prices and I know the money goes back into the community. read more

Terrible place . Manager and his supervisors don't have a clue about customer service . Slow service . Rude supervisor. Manager is either invisible , unapproachable or uncaring . It is so humiliating waiting in long line ups to buy second rate goods . They have other employees but won't open new register . They price dollars store items $4.99 and up to $6.99 . Very poor service. I brought in a large quantity for donation...then bought items and had to wait in line. Only one cash open and lots of staff just "standing around". When I asked why another cash wasn't being opened because there was 8 buyers waiting in one line, staff just shrugged shoulders. Unbelievable. 2015 Spring Value Village 530 Fennell Ave., Hamilton My wife and myself were both assaulted by a person called "Mike", at the Fennell location. The person both sneezed nasal discharge and spit on my wife who had just recently left the hospital recovering from diabetic ketoacidosis which put her in a life threatening situation. I was only the recipient of some shoving by this individual during the last few days we were there. However, a few weeks before this last episode, this Mike character threatened me with a crowbar he had found in the store, right in front of one of the workers. The employee who saw the crowbar incident was told not to talk to us about it telling us, "I can't say anything about it, I was told not to say anything" but it is part of a permanent record! Verifiable! When the manager was told of these incidents he ignored the complaint. The spitting incidents happened on two separate occasions. The third time I confronted this character in front of the store and warned him about his actions. He began to get really offensive and tried to leave at which point I grabbed his bicycle by the wheel, preventing him from doing so. The guy starts screaming, " what's wrong with you mister, help". When I went into the store, to explain what had happened, the manager and supervisor, told me I was barred from the store. Then he looks at my invalid wife, who was the victim of the most abuse at the store and tells her that she is barred as well. This is verifiable!! 'Not looking for compensation just retribution. I would like to see both Miss "L" and mister "D", both banned from working at any of the affiliate stores as well and this "Mike" character permanently banned from any of the stores as well. On leaving the store for the last time, this manager blurts out, "There is no conspiracy theory". What exactly he meant by this is anyone's guess. 'Just another absurd occurrence! P.S. We have since been told by numerous officials to contact the Human Rights Association to lodge a complaint. Perhaps this is still on the agenda. I'm sure others have been in this same or similar situations, as they pulled this off with some degree of expertise. Possibly at other stores as well.
