Too many items bore unrealistically high prices, far too many in fact. Staff member wouldn't call a vendor to see if they would lower a price. This is Cambridge, not Toronto. Worse, is the layout of the place, which is ridiculous and a dreadful maze. The rows are not linear. You will get lost. Absolutely love going here every time I'm in Cambridge and I never see it all. It's so much to take in I could literally spend hours looking at all the really fantastic antiques. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable from the few times I've chatted with them. If you love antiques you must stop by here and spend at least a few hours really looking at stuff. Made the fairly long trek out from Toronto to see this place and try to find a couple of items. Here are the highs and lows... 1. There are lots of booths carrying a wide range of items. Most booths have legit antique and collectible merchandise. If you collect it, you will probably find it. It seemed like all booths were occupied, and while a few booths were a little sloppy, no one was selling 5$ sunglasses or cell phone covers. 2. Prices range from reasonable to very high. Nothing is really cheap, though if you know what you want, you may find it for a fair price. 3. The service is not particularly friendly or helpful. The interactions I had made me feel like they viewed customers as either people who wanted something for nothing or potential shoplifters. 4. There is no bargaining on anything. When I asked, it was as if they were insulted. 5. With lots and lots of stuff, comes challenges. When you see the same item in three booths at prices ranging from 16 to 50 dollars, you begin to get cold feet. 6. While there are lots of items, you will not find a great selection of high end furniture or high end pottery/glassware. Overall, this place is worth the visit, if only once. read more

On May 8, 2019 I bought a Seiko quartz watch from booth C03 and paid $40.68. The watch was not described as "working" "not working" or "as is". The watch was not running when I purchased it. When I got home and removed the case back I saw the movement already had a battery and a test showed the battery was new. The dealer had put a new battery in the watch and knew it was not working yet did not state on the tag that the watch was not working. I bought another battery and installed it in the movement and still the watch would not work. I called Southworks on May 9 and was told by an employee that all sales were final. I could hear the owner, Carol, speaking saying she would not refund my money. When I pressed the issue I was told by the employee that she would call me back later that day, which she did not. I called back and was told she would find time to speak with Carol and call me on May 10. The employee did not call on May 10 so at noon so I called the store again and was told again that Carol would not refund my money. I was put on the phone with Carol who continued to say that because of her contract with dealer she would not refund my money without permission from the dealer. I further pressed the issue and Carol said she would contact the dealer and call me back. When Carol called back she stated that after discussing the situation with the dealer they decided that since the watch was not described as "working" the dealer had done nothing wrong and Carol decided to side with the dealer and a refund would not be given. Carol then made the absurd offer to take the watch back and sell it on consignment, (with Southworks taking a percentage of the sale.). I've been going to Southworks since their old location for 21 years now and I've spent a significant amount of money with them. This is how Carol treats her long time paying customers, by siding with dealers who knowingly cheat buyers. May 8 was the last time I spend money at Southworks and I will make sure to let everyone I know that they need to seriously reconsider spending money here. Carol needs to understand that it's the paying customers who drive her business, not the dealers. read more

Just went Sunday for the first time at the new location. Although theres lots of stuff DONT expect reasonable prices. Even damaged items are extremely over priced. For example a small stainglass with glass coming out and bent is $125.... So if you just want to look and not buy theres plenty there but if you want to shop dont waste your time read more

I found out they moved so I thought I'd see the new place. It seemed cleaner, brighter and items were better displayed than the old place. It was a bit of a puzzle as to how to get around, especially for someone who is direction-ally challenged but that kind of made it more fun. I didn't rate it as a 5 only because I didn't see anything I wanted to buy, which is unusual for me. Just not my day I guess, but worth seeing. read more

If you are looking for $5.00 sunglass case or cell phone cover and you visit an Antique Mall for that, you are definitely at the wrong place. you are lost! Not only that but you gave a bad review for that? I go to Southworks antique Mall for years and I love the place. You are not going to like every item or everyone's price, but it is one's choice to price it or to buy it. The stuff is always available and friendly, helpful. The place is clean and organized. Washroom is always clean which is not the case at Winners, etc....lol Visit this very well liked place with confidence and I hope you'll find your treasures as I do. read more

I visited Southworks antiques yesterday and found some real treasures. Haven't been there for awhile and it was well worth the visit. Good selection of vintage items at good prices. it's going on my list of regular antique stops. read more
