The prices (couple hundred bucks apiece) helped confirm that these weren't dodgy, "refurbished" mattresses. But I'm at a loss why anyone would come here for new mattresses if they're the same as at some regular store.

Then it's a wide, open space with racks upon racks of women's clothing. There's definitely a lot to go through, but I'm sure you'll find something for you. I saw a black, sequined BCBG Max Azria dress for only $19.99! I wasn't sure if it would fit, and I didn't see any fitting rooms. There's an electronics section with older electronics like VCRs, DVD players, boomboxes, CD players, stereos with cassette tapes, keyboards, speakers, countertop cookware, fans, printers, etc. There's even a power bar for you to test the electronics before making a purchase. Up the stairs, or the ramp, there's men's clothing, sports equipment (like baseball bats and skis), lots of books, vinyl records, furniture, mattresses (that I think are new and were donated to the store), housewares (drinking glasses, vases, bowls, and much, much more), and even artwork. By the cashiers, there are items in locked display cases. I saw jewellery, old telephones, and even a Nintendo Entertainment System. I didn't see any controllers to go with it, though. There's a seniors' discount for 10% off, and if you've donated items, you can get a 20% off coupon.

Shopping here is a hit or miss, as always with thrifting. I do find that I am more likely to find something I like here than at other locations. I think it's because I find this store a bit more spacious, so I'm more willing to spend time looking through the aisles here. The pricing here leaves me kinda iffy about wanting to shop here sometimes. They keep bringing up prices so sometimes, things aren't even a good deal anymore. It's suppose to be for non-for-profit and environmentally friendly to thrift. But here, I've definitely found over priced items, broken items still being sold, and items priced higher than the original price tags attached. Be patient, spend some time... anytime you're thrifting, you need to be willing to spend time combing through each item if you want a chance to find something great.

I found a number of items and paid for them. I did not have my buggy with me and the store was closing and there was no time to go home and return with my buggy to put my purchases in. The clerk behind the counter said I could leave my bagged purchases with them there and she would put them in a safe spot and I could return another time with my buggy to retrieve my purchased goods. I asked her to write my name and phone number on the receipt before taping it to the bags. I later ran into the same clerk on the street and spoke with her about me coming to pick up my purchases and explained that it's been hard for me and I was still processing my dad's death and apologized for my delay in coming to get my purchases. She immediately said to me, and to another store employee who was with her at the time, that she remembered me. Although, she said, the store was taken over by the owner's nephew and my purchases were no longer at the store. I asked how that could be, because my name and phone number were taped onto the receipt placed on the bags that contained the goods I had purchased. I asked why no one had bothered to call me? I explained that when the store took my money and then also took my purchases then the store was essentially stealing from me, their customer. She had no answers for me. The other employee took my name and phone number and said she would give it to the nephew who took over the store and he would call me and reimburse me the money I paid. Fast forward many months later and no phone call, and no reimbursement. What kind of business steals from their customers? There's no integrity. I will not walk through their doors and will not spend my money at a business that is dishonest and unscrupulous.

Turns out, there were some real finds! I needed a beret and suspenders and ended up choosing a 100% wool hat and it was made in Germany and priced cheaper than a brand new costume beret, along with suspenders featuring buckles made in England and the stretchy band made in the US, all together for under $12 including tax for both items. Sounds like a great deal to me. Older items these days are much better quality and it's much more sustainable since these items are mostly likely gonna be used once. Don't overlook Value Village!
