It's very dirty. There's roaches the staff take your stuff. They don't give you enough food. They also throw your medical stuff away.

I tried to make everyone that I met at the shelter feel better and valued, including the staff. At times the upper management were a lot to deal with, Mr. Williams was my supervisor; a black man, ex marine , republican, who constantly kept a frown on his face and never a friendly word to the staff. I worked in both of the men shelters, and their was always some major scandal with residents or staff that needed hands on repair and one time.... News reporting that end up evicting residents and eventually getting staff fired for alerting the news media. I wrote about these stories in my book; HEY PUDDIN! Some Things Just Don't Change by MYCHAELTODD

The staff is very rude to downright mean as can be to the "guests" at the 217 N Grant location…read more I've witnessed it and have been on the receiving end of their nasty ways. Reporting to higher ups will go ignored and they'll say just that to your face. They'll lie to in order to scream and yell at homeless women at this shelter. If they acknowledge them at all, that is. You will be treated like literal crap and they know that you'll have to take it or be "exited" meaning kicked out into the elements. Always remember your faith and relationship with the Most High Almighty when you're used as a chew toy daily by the front desk staff.

Are you searching for a church that puts God first and is filled with friendly, Christ focused…read morebelievers then you have come to the right place. My experience with this beautiful group of people has been very special. This is one of the fastest growing churches in America, and it is easy to see why the first time you walk through these doors. I encourage you to come see for yourself.

I really love Rock City! Love what they're doing to get young people back in the church…read more This was my first time attending this location, although I'm actually here all the time since they're attached to The Dream Center, a nonprofit that serves the homeless, lower income, and people in human trafficking. The lobby area is tighter than the UA campus, but it's good because greeters are more apt to see you and talk to you. They seem to be much nicer here. They were selling apparel in the lobby, so I had to take a look. Got myself a windbreaker to rep the church. I recognize a lot more faces at this campus. It was nice. Service was great. The singers on stage were also good. Seems like more undergrads tend to be at this campus since it's close by. You can sit upstairs in the balcony or downstairs. The space is smaller than UA, but it's a good size since UA has more people. They have Wednesday and Sunday night services too. We were at the 10:45am service and it was still filled with lots of people. I saw a few families, older people, and definitely some students. Parking is tricky. Since I volunteer here on occasion, I know to drive through into the second spot. Otherwise, wait a while before leaving. Would love to come back again though! I enjoyed the energy on stage. The high ceilings also made the space feel a bit more open. They're made of wood. I felt close to nature. Lol.

That being said, it's clearly stated on the application that it may take 10 days to hear from a volunteer and that's exactly how long it took for me. Once I did hear back I was then put in touch with the foster mom, who was absolutely wonderful! We communicated on a regular basis. We met at a park, we then scheduled a home visit, and we then adopted the most AMAZING boy! All of that happened over the course of a few weeks, but that's not out of the ordinary at all. I was also told by the foster mom, right up front, there was another family interested in him and going through the process as well. So if they would have won out, that's just life, regardless of how far I was in the process. Most of these dogs come from really bad circumstances, so an exhaustive process to find the perfect home SHOULD be done and they SHOULD be picky. I couldn't be happier!

When I adopted my dog I was so impressed with the lengths they went to before the actual adoption…read more They actually contacted my veterinarian to make sure the dog I used to have was current on all his vaccinations. There was a question about his Simparica Trio so they reached out to me for clarification. Then one of their volunteers came to my house to make sure it passed the dog friendly test. We had a visit with the dog we ended up adopting. It was all very thorough and I couldn't be more pleased with the whole process. They know their foster dog went to a loving home and I felt good knowing they wouldn't adopt out if it wasn't the right fit. This rescue is all volunteers who just want to find good homes for unhoused dogs.
