I called Golden Valley Medical (GVM) in Warsaw to see if they'd be open tomorrow. They assured me…read morethey had a walk-in clinic that'd be open, so I arrived the following day. GVM then told me that their walk-in clinic was closed. I had open-heart surgery scheduled for Monday, so I had to have a COVID test faxed to Barnes Jewish Hospital in the next four days. GVM told me that if I had my doctor fax a request to them, they could do my test. I asked my surgeon to fax a request to Golden Valley Medical, then called to confirm they received it. They said to ask for the lab when I arrived. I did so, and the Millennial who greeted me asked which lab. I said I didn't know. So she repeated the question verbatim and received the same answer. She repeated the question a third time and received--you guessed it--the same answer. She sent me to the receptionist, who showed me an insurance card and told me I should call the number on my insurance card. Like I'd never seen an insurance card before. I asked, "Do you really not remember me? I was in here an hour ago and you wouldn't give me a COVID test without a note from my surgeon. You now have it. May I have my COVID test?" They sent me to the lab tech who gave me the test. I gave her Barnes Jewish Hospital's fax number to fax it in when she received the results. She never faxed it. On the Sunday before my surgery, Barnes called to tell me they never received the results. I called Golden Valley Medical and Golden Valley Medical's Answering Service answered. I told them my conundrum, and they said they could not bother the doctor with a request like mine. To which I replied, "Then you're not really an answering service, are you?" My heart surgery was delayed eight hours because Death Valley Medical failed to share my COVID test results with Barnes. I was held an extra day in the hospital because of GVM's unreliability. If you want substandard care from Millennials who don't care about your health and can't think outside the box, then Golden Valley Medical is the place for you!

All the staff are equally trained and qualified to step into any position in case of call outs. The drive thru is always opened. All the staff are very helpful and kind and respectful. They are always fully staffed, compared to big corporate pharmacies that makes a pharmacist work by themselves. Their new clinical pharmacist is just a joy. He is so smart and helpful. Don the owner is a Benton county icon. Did you know that J&D stands for Jesus and Don? Why suffer with long waits and staffing shortages and a corporation that only cares about their profit? I was better but not healed. Then I went to Dr. Porter who repaired my hip in two appointments. It was $130 for the first appointment and $50 for the second. Thanks, Dr. Porter! I appreciate you. Dr. Porter actually fixed me in the first appointment but my hip slipped out again three days later, which of course is not his fault so he fixed it again. I would highly recommend him.
