Never use them again! Most horrible service! The driver and the customers are the victims! We booked the selfloading service on the phone and arranged properly with the customer service that we would go with the van. But even the driver already confirmed with the customer service whether the customers would follow the van. Due to terrible bad service and very bad communication, the driver got the wrong messages and took two guys with him for the following job. We can't go with the van and have to take a train. In the end we ended up late and had to pay more for the hours. Even the drivers suffered as he always hit the complaints from the customers! It was not his fault. But he said it happened many times. We used Van Plus to move some heavy furniture and booked a slot from 1400 to 1600. At 1500, and after many attempts to call, our driver was nowhere to be seen. We finally managed to make contact and he told us he would be an hour late. We frantically called the Van Plus switchboard to find out what to do. After 15 attempts I managed to speak to a customer service lady who assured me she would sort it out. We were never called back, and in the end had to arrange an alternative courier at great expense. Despite a detailed email outlining our experience sent to the manager Peter King, we still haven't received a refund of our deposit nor an apology from him. Very disappointing. Zero stars! Do not book via Vanplus! The overall service was beyond bad, see the recap: - Van booked for Saturday, 14th October 2017 at 4pm. Received confirmation via email that the driver will come to collect anytime between 4pm and 5pm - On the 14th October at 12.30pm , the driver called asking if he could come to mine already - told him that obviously I wasn't ready however happy for him to come a bit earlier, 3pm - he agreed - At 5.38pm the driver texted me he'll be a bit late - After chasing him, he texted back at 6.47pm he'll be at mine in around 15min - We left my place at 7.20pm 1. Contacted Vanplus over chat - all they did was apologizing and calling the driver 2. When I told driver I was extremely unhappy and that I will ask a refund to the company, he threatened he'll cancel the booking on me and remove the stuff from the van - he said the company wouldn't pay him otherwise 3. At the end of this nightmare the driver has even asked for a tip - unbelievable! :) As I really don't want the driver to have repercussions (he already gets paid very little), I won't ask for a refund but I need other people to know what a scam company this is! read more

Our experience was terrible. The driver first of all couldn't speak English. He then said he was on his way. An hour later (ie an past the booked slot time) he then informed us he still hadn't left the previous job and that it would still be another 2 hours before he could be with us... This is unacceptable. I understand that some jobs can take longer but then a) tell us b) refund us our deposit given it was your mistake!!! I had to cancel as I need a company I could rely on to arrive at a time and date I specify. I phone back in less than 25hrs of the booking and with more than a week to go. They take 50% cancelation fee and threaten legal action if I don't pay. (I'll know pretty soon if they'll stick to that) The Ts & Cs say Van Plus can cancel with no notice and just give you a middle finger, but if you cancel with loads of notice you have to pay 50%!!!! and on the day 100%!!! because of the massive inconvenience to them?? Terrible service! The company doesn't even have a telephone number, you can only contact them by internet chat. Not even the drivers can contact the company. My driver didn't told me 3 time that she'd be late and then didn't show up. I was waiting in my student halls for the driver that never showed up. I had to leave, I wasn't allowed to be there after my contract ended so the staff kicked me out along with my stuff which was around 7 boxes. The driver didn't show up, I couldn't contact the stupid company. They left me there in the road and didn't send anyone else after their driver fucked up. I didn't have anywhere to stay or to put my stiff, and I couldn't carry the boxes because they were too many. So I called 2 ubers to fit all my boxes and went to a hotel for the night. Do not use their services. Here are the reasons: - Paid for a driver and a loader. Only driver came saying his friend didn't make it?! sic. I ended up moving all the boxes at the pick up point on my own. Obviously it took more time than with potential help I ordered.. - I moved the boxes finally to the drop off point. Instead of apology, I was then charged 120 quid extra because I spent more time than planned. It would take less if I were not alone and if you had provided the service I paid for!! - Complaint system is a joke. Only available via Internet platform - 150 letters used to describe the issue (twitter size). Dispute team allows their drivers to lie in every possible way, as you "don't have a proof" confirming your version. They have a good website and are fantastic at getting your money, after that it is a complete disaster. Rude is an understatement, I have the voice mail messages saved for proof in case they try and dispute it. Bottom line is everything is extra, they are like the UberX of moving, you get people who are being paid only a % of what you pay and therefore they really do not care. Chairs were literally thrown onto the street, a desk that needed putting into position was left where it was "unless they give a tip" and overall a horrible experience. It took two booking to get the job completed as on the first one despite me saying it was a Table and six chairs they quoted for one person for two hours. When he got to the office he basically said it was a two man job and he would come back if we paid again. I called the office and suggested that as we had paid already for that day for two hours the least he could do was take some of the boxes. They tried to argue we had missed the slot booked from 4-6pm but as it was five past four, was hard to argue. Louise, their customer service manager who apparently only works one day a week, She admitted her companies fault in sending a driver, as their communication apparently failed and also admitted they failed by send the receipt. Well, where to start... I booked this company for a move on 5/7 4pm. I called them on the day to confirm & they had me down for 6/7 8am. They kept cutting me off & I had to call 5 times, each time confirming my booking for 6/7 8am! I resorted to using their online chat & was told I was indeed booked for 5/7 4pm & there was no booking for the other day mentioned. At this point I'd lost confidence & decided to cancel. They still took full payment of £115 & said this was as per terms & conditions, despite apologising for their really bad service. -The van was late, arriving over an hour after the 'latest arrival time'. -The movers were not professional. The driver had my phone number but did not call me to tell me they were running late, or to ask directions. I had to call him, repeatedly. He tried to blame me for not providing directions so they could find the location, when in fact they had the exact address as part of our order, and it is a simple matter to find a public park in the middle of Chelsea. We hired them to help reassemble our bench after delivery, and they were not focused on the task, instead checking phone and complaining that they would be late for their next delivery. It would be nice instead if I had received a simple acknowledgement and apology, 'We are sorry that we were late', after I spent over two hours standing by the roadside looking for their van. In addition their claim was ungrounded, since we booked the service for up to three hours and were complete in less than two, there was no basis for asserting I am taking too much of their time. -The bench was damaged because the driver and loader slid the unit across the floor of the van causing scrapes and gouges in the exterior finish. Our company has put a lot of time and energy into developing functional street furniture that removes air pollution. The bench that they moved is our first street prototype. Our air cleaning bench is now in no condition for public display due to coarse and unprofessional handling by Van Plus and will require professional refinishing. We had been lead to believe from the website that Van Plus would be able to provide the service we were asking for, but this was not the case. After receiving our complaint, Van Plus did nothing. Beyond unprofessional. They rang me up and made a booking with me before I had a chance to see these reviews. Too late to cancel and get my money back because they have a 1 HOUR cancellation window! Unbelievable! I was expecting my van to come today between 1-2pm. By 1.30pm I had not received the promised call from the driver to let me know he was on his way. Tried to phone Van-Plus, but of course it always goes straight to voicemail and no one ever gets back to you. I went on their chat. Was informed that they couldn't retrieve the driver's contact details for me to get in touch with him! So that means even they couldn't reach him?? Such liars. Michael on chat promised to text me his number when he got it. I waited until 2.30pm before getting back online. I must have spent half an hour trying to get a response from Michael. It kept telling me he was online, but no matter what I did or said, I got nothing. Getting desperate, I took the bus to my local library 30mins away and used a different computer there. Got a response straight away because of course it was a different IP address. As soon as they knew it was me, they sent me a text message to say the driver was 20 mins away. (He actually turned up an hour later). So it took 3 hours of my chasing them in the most surreal way before I could even get some kind of feedback on what had happened to my booking. So shameless, and diabolical that they would deliberately dodge a customer they had left in the lurch. I found Michael extremely rude, at one point he demanded that I "get off chat now" so that I could receive the driver at the flat. I told him that I expected the driver to wait seeing as I had been forced to go out of my way just to get the damn company to speak to me. The discount offered from £55 to £40 does not at all reflect the absolute horror of their lack of service. Going by the accuracy of previous reviews, I don't expect that discount to show on my monthly bank statement, I'm sure. I am nevertheless going to chase down my money, whatever it takes, for all the hassle and dishonesty on their side. They should not be allowed to continue. Abysmal service. I have never written a review before because I usually can't be bothered. These guys were so terrible they've actually inspired me. Hired a two man crew and Luton van. A one man crew and a smaller van showed up. Was told I'd only be charged for the one man job (never mind the inconvenience of me having to now load myself all afternoon). The cowboys actually billed me the full amount AND...CHARGED ME £170 BECAUSE THE JOB HAD OVER RAN!! Awful Awful Awful service! The guys turned up 30 minutes late because they couldn't find the street because of an out-dated sat nav. I had to guide them with my iPhone to the property. I paid a flat fee for 2 hours and they finished the work in 1.55 hours (regardless of the 30mins delay at the beginning) but they still charged me for 30 extra minutes because they said the work took them 2.06h!!! What is more, they were clumsy and dropped some boxes on the way. Fortunately nothing fragile in there! Customer service gave me the cold shoulder, they seemed annoyed at my request and I had to chase them for answers. Do yourself a favour and avoid them! There are plenty of better services around that respect customer and treat them like people and not bank accounts. read more

- Our men and van turned up separately, and did not get to work straight away. At first, they were very slow, chatting and laughing outside of our house instead of moving our furniture. It was only when we starting bringing furniture and boxes out ourselves that they started to work properly. This was after approximately half an hour. - They damaged the light in the hallway of our new house with an item of furniture they were moving and now the light does not work. It worked prior to the move. - They were careless with our new dining table, which is now covered in scratches. - They put furniture upstairs which we asked to be put downstairs. When I asked why they had done this, their response was "well it is upstairs now". - After they left, they sat in their van outside my property for approximately half an hour. - I have not received an invoice or reference number for this order, however I have been informed by my bank that that van plus have charged me £235. Truly shocked by how bad this service is. I was left waiting on the side of the road for almost 3 hours while I waited for my late driver & van. I only found out it was due to arrive late after I happened to call about something else - they had no intention of notifying me so I could make necessary adjustments. Driver finally arrives well into the night and speeds me to my destination, so job gets done but an afternoon is wasted for several parties because of pure incompetence from the team organising the schedules. For £60 you'd expect at the very least a text to let you know there's some delays and to plan accordingly. Emailed to complain, no response. Customers are clearly their lowest priority. I booked a man and van service for the 25th January from 11am through www.van-plus.com Got a quote without issues, called to confirm the details, all good. On the day of the move, they were more than 1 hour late, and they were late to tell us about this as well. At least the driver, Adolfo M, was fantastic and did a great job. To cut a long story short, the day after the move, I saw that they charged my bank account twice: first with some £40.35 out of nowhere and no reason, then a second time with the "correct" quote that they gave me. I have been chasing them up for two weeks now to get a refund for the money that they have recognized many times that they have charged me in error, but I haven't gotten anywhere yet. I have demanded several times to speak to the manager, and never once I have been able to get through to him. Their customer service is nonexistent and they will pass you around and not give any real resolution to your questions. All I have received is an email for toby at van-plus.com who is supposedly the manager. I sent him an email last week with all the details, asking for acknowledgement of receipt and demanding to speak to him - no joy either. Basically, they have stolen money from me and they are not refunding it. Dodgy company- DO NOT USE . Appalling service. We were sent one man when we requested two, we had to wait an extra hour for another Incompetent man to causally turn up and help us move everything, by which time my friend and i had done ALL the heavy lifting ourselves. The damage caused has been vast. The old wooden door to my flat is chipped away and dented, the communal areas have been marked and scratched and they marked all the newly painted walls in my new house. After not being able to figure out how to get the bed or sofa out of the flat, we had to leave without them; making the move a fucking nightmare. They complained the whole time whilst my roommate and I did 90% of the work and even went as far as to over charge for having to walk up an extra flight of stairs (when in fact it was one less than we had previously stated) We haven't yet had an apology or compensation for our trouble and have called three times. THIS COMPANY WILL SCAM YOU!!!!! DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR BANK CARD DETAILS ETC. I called on 24 July 2017 (today) and booked a van rental service. As soon as the call began I asked if it was being recorded. They replied yes. I made the booking and then they said they needed my card details for pre-authorization to hold the van rental. I asked if the funds would come out and they said no. I said if I call and cancel will I be charged. They replied no. I then found a much cheaper and better rental van option.. I called to cancel and they gave me the run around. They said I had to use the chat option to cancel. No one could talk to me on the phone about cancelling. I then looked at my bank account and they took the money out. I called back repeatedly and each time I got the run around and excuses. I then went to the online chat center while I was on the phone with my bank. I repeatedly asked for their name and approval code. My bank needed that information to cancel their unauthorized withdrawal. They ignored my request and gave me yet another online link to submit a dispute. Wait.. I was told I could do that on the online chat option I clicked on. Hmmmmmm... So of course I clicked on that link.. yet more run around questions and bogus links. I then called back.. I was hung up on a total of 4 times today. I was also told twice someone from the support department would call. No one ever called and every time I call I get the run around. No one will give me a straight answer. I have made the authorities aware and 2 other companies are going to investigate them much to my relief. Another thing to pay attention to: their company is listed as Van Plus. When they took the unauthorized charges out of my bank account their name was listed as "Computer Program Integrated Systems and Data Sevice". Which my bank immediately red flagged, thank goodness. Stay away at all costs. They seem very on the ball in the beginning calling you after you ask for a quote etc. until you make a booking, then they vanish. Nothing short of a scam. I checked online for a quote with them and got a call in the morning. Made a booking for a man and van to help move flat. Got a confirmation email straight away as I got off the phone but when the day and time came nobody turned up. Tried to call them but then discovered that their number only rings an automated answering system where you leave your details and they promise to call back. Left them a message asking where my driver is three times, no response. I went on their website and tried to contact them via the live chat feature. Each time you start sending a message to someone it says is online and they say hello, told them I was waiting for my driver for two hours now then they go silent and just don't answer. In the end I had to call someone off gumtree to do the move the same night which cost me four times the usual fee due to short notice (had to move out of my flat by the next day). Then got an invoice from van plus over £0 one month later, but they still booked £15 off my VISA card the week after. Again tried to call and left a message, no response. Called again and pretended I want another quote, got a call back within a minute, told the gentleman what was going on only to be told to use the live chat feature on the website; went on there while still on the phone to be sure to get a response. Filled in all the questions they asked to initiate their "complaint procedure". They told me they would get back to me within a week. One and a half weeks later no contact from them, still no money, company unreachable. Now found out they are registered in the Isle of Man not the UK and their legal contact information leads nowhere. Working on getting a chargeback initiated via my bank atm but this interaction left me out of pocket and wasting more than a day's worth of my time already. Really stay away, they try to scam you for your money with promises of good customer service and reliability but internet search shows quickly they are the least reliable, and their customer service disappears completely as soon as they have your payment details. read more

Avoid at all costs! You are paying a vastly inflated cost for an inferior service, and if things go wrong - and they did - resolution is extremely difficult: their number goes straight to answerphone, but no-one has managed to return my call for ten days and counting - and finding an actual email address is virtually impossible. Their receipt, sent to me on the day, clearly shows no overtime is chargeable - a few days later, I was charged, and received no notification. I found it on my credit card bill, and tried to resolve it with them - their response was that the driver told them it was over, and I needed to submit independent proof to prove it hadn't gone over. I have no idea how one would prove that something hasn't happened. The matter is now with Trading Standards, my card issuer and Action Fraud: absolutely their Ts and Cs shows that an additional charge is payable if time goes over. However, mine didn't. You would also assume that if an additional charge would be made, this would a) be reflected on the receipt and b) be notified to you in writing. Absolutely cannot recommend in anyway. If you do use them, and the driver tells you they can't use their app from their 'phone - be very, very wary: and do not give a generous tip, as seemingly, this is the clue that they will rip you off by claiming an additional charge where none is due. read more

The mover finally arrived 3.5 hours late meanwhile we had very little communication from the company and they refused to speak to us over the phone. If you need to move within a specific time frame I would look for a more reliable company. Website looks professional but booking with them was one of the worst mistakes I made. Booked a van on a Sunday morning to move later in the day. Confirmation email received with job number (but email doesn't repeat the details you filled in on booking form). Anyway got ready to move but driver never came and nobody ever called. Left numerous messages on their answer phone (website says they are open on Sunday until 6pm, and you can never talk to someone only option was to leave a message) but no response and nobody returned any written messages either. I just wanted to get in touch with driver and check that he has correct phone number. Waited over 2 hours to no avail so had to find other means to move the same day at 7pm in the evening which was traumatic. Called them the next day to find out what had happened- turned out that i had made one typographical error in my phone number. It was my fault but I had no means of checking that in their booking confirmation email. They could have emailed me when failing to get in touch by phone. Didn't manage to get any support from the service centre on the day despite best efforts to be in touch. They tried to blame the whole thing on me but it was also their fault that I had no support from their end to get in touch with driver (confirmation email merely states your job number and arrival time etc). Managed to agree for them to charge me half the money. Of course, when I checked my bank statement today I have been charged the FULL amount, contrary to what I had agreed with their service rep called Ben Davis. Well, Do Not Use!!!! After booking 6 hours in advanced they said our van and driver will be with us between 5 and 6. It was 10 mins past six still no driver, no contact from company apart from confirmation email and taking our money!!! At half past they said driver was running late after being told that I had to log into web chat which had a girl from the Philippines was on the chat saying he was delayed!!!! 30 more mins later I checked on our account and said finding driver!!! I rang the uk number only to be told he couldn't help me as he had no details and to go back into the chat!!! They web chat then told us that the van had broken down but not to worry as they will keep trying to find a new van!!! Told them to forget it went on gumtree and luckily found someone. The prompted service is not provided by the company and it is impossible to make any direct contact with the company to find out why it failed to send a driver and van as agreed on time or at all. Despite its many inflated and seemingly overstated promises I am afraid that this company does not perform at all as it promises. Because it is impossible to make contact with the company it leaves me with a huge amount of unease as to its ability to fulfill its promises. We booked a student move form one part of London to another about 9 miles. The distance was about 9 miles and we booked 2.5 hours for the diver and van to do the job. All went well with the booking and we believed that we could except the van and driver we booked to arrive on the date and the time as agreed. However, the driver never showed up and the company ignored all of our e-mails and our telephone calls were not returned. The e-mail address and telephone contacts provided by this company as live contact details remains are in fact dead, the emails bounce back and the company never calls back. In the end we hired our own van for 24 hours from Hertz and did the move ourselves at a lesser cost. After this rather dreadful experience if in the future I need a driver and van to arrive to help with a move I would make sure that I do not make any reservation with this company or any of its associates. . . read more

I have hired a van to move a couple of furniture items for 2 hours. While I was on the phone booking the van I was asked whether there is a lift and my answer was no, only stairs. I was given a quote and was happy with it. However, few days after they have charged me extra without even informing me! plus NO receipt provided. When I called them and told about the situation they have said that they charge extra £5 per flight of stairs if not informed, EVEN THOUGH I have informed them while making a booking. The guy called Nathan advised me to send them an email explaining the situation, what I did. For 2 weeks noone got back to me! I called after 2 weeks and Nathan was telling me again the same thing what he was 2 weeks ago! What was the point of sending them an email? Was only making excuses which did not make any sense. I booked with this company last minute. Everything seemed to be ok until the day of my move. The company called me up at the time my van was due to say the van drivers mum died. I was devestated for him and made no trouble. I was then told someone will get a van for 3.30 and hour and a half later which i thought was very reasonable considering. Baring in mind i had asked family and friends for help as it was a rushed move. The driver doesnt show up so at 4.30 i call and they say "oh we never rebooked we were waiting for you to confirm. Noone shoulve said that a van will be with you by 3.30 in the first place. As we are mostaken have a 20% discount." By no ive asked my family and friends to take half the stuff as i didnt want them waiting about which i mention to the company and say i only need one and a half hours now. The company say so you will only pay for 1.5 hours and get 20% discount. The van driver finally turns up at 5.45 and the job gets done. I would rate the van driver well but the service and lies from the company is another thing. Stay away from van plus. When i called today they asked me to write a complaint to get discount as nothing was on file. I told them this was already agreed and after 30 mins on the phone they agree however never agreed to refund the lost time. I will chose someone much more professional next time. This useless band of incompetents made what should have been something so simple into a nightmare. They ruined one party's day and took up most of the time of ours. All they had to do was pick up a light piece of furniture in south London and bring it to west London. The pick up had to be before 930am (arranged for 8am to be safe) as the owner needed to go to work and had organised to come in late. Without warning the van company delayed - without informing us and despite agreeing an 8am pick up were nowhere to be seen by 11am. Speaking to them seemed fruitless and both parties were met on their mainline with a rude unhelpful lady who never called back any of the times that she promised and thought it ok to have no clue what was going on with our job and their business as a whole. The lack of communication of head office was not matched by their drivers. On the contrary, both parties received numerous irate and garbled phone calls from a series of non-english speaking drivers who seemed incapable of finding a simple residential address. After countless calls and broken promises from the main office, eventually the item was picked up at 3pm and delivered later. Despite arriving over 7 hours later than the agreed time drop off time, the company felt that there should be no discount or refund because 'they had done what they had quoted'. Scandalous and because they had our credit card details there was no way to stop them taking full amount. This company prides itself on quoting jobs on specific timings. It totally failed to do so.
