She had started to go to a pain management doctor last couple of years because her back pain had finally gotten to the point where it was unbearable for her. She has always suffered from this type of pain, stemming from when she was hit by a motorcycle when she was 18. With everything that has also been going on this year health-wise, she has had significant mobility and pain issues. Because of the pain, her doctor had her come here to receive injections in her back to help her with the pain. She does it every few months or so. It is not a lengthy procedure and it helps her a lot. Glad we have a center so close to home where she can get these procedures done.

I have been coming to Pajka Eye Center since 2021. I first went there because my mother had…read morecataracts and she needed to have that surgery. She had one surgery for one of the eyes, and needed me to take her to the appointments. While there I got to know about this surgery center and decided to finally look into Lasik surgery. My vision has been steadily getting worse as the years went by to the point I just couldn't see almost anything without glasses. Whenever i would misplace them, it would take me up to an hour sometimes to find them because i just couldn't see... i had to get super up close to see them. I have been putting off doing Lasik for years, partly because I was a bit of a chicken. I was always worried they would screw it up and I would end up blind. Ever see that old Twilight Zone episode, Time Enough At Last? It freaked me out when I first saw it years ago. The fear of eventually not being able to see and enjoy the things I love drove me to get the surgery. And the moment I decided I needed to correct my vision came in a trip in 2021, where I went to a hotel pool, having extreme difficulty seeing anything while I was in the pool and then for a while that I couldn't find my glasses for a while... made me realize I needed to fix this problem once and for all. So i went through their tests and was told 1) I was blind as a bat and 2) I was a candidate for Lasik. After a few check ups as I needed to get my eyes ready for the surgery as they were too dry, needing months of daily eye drops. The day of the surgery came. A friend of mine took me to the eye center for the surgery, and i went in. I signed some paperwork, given some pills and some eye drops to numb my eyes I gotta say, Lasik surgery feels weird. You do feel them working on the eye as your conscious and it doesn't hurt most of the time. Except the left eye which I was told it always does. The surgery didn't take long... think it was an hour. I wish i could say that I faced this without fear, but no. I did hold the hand of one of the nurses the whole time... especially during the left eye. Super thankful to that nurse. I went home and slept the rest of the day and really did a lot of sleeping that weekend. I had to wear sunglasses for several weeks, have 4 different types of eye drops to use for the next month and had to sleep with goggles on. My vision got progressively better and one week after my surgery I had 20/15 vision. Not sure what I have now as I have to go soon for another check up. Its amazing to be able to see without glasses on... even the colors are more vivid and vibrant. I am incredibly thankful for Dr. Pajka and his staff. My life is so much better since the surgery. They are very professional, caring and wonderful. If you are in Van Wert and Lima and need eye surgery, go see Dr. Pajka!

They are also helpful as you pick out frames and even let me take photos in glasses that are really wild for me to scare my wife with. Dr. Unterbrink is a great doctor. He really takes time to make sure the testing being done is thorough and answers any questions you have. He is also really funny and it makes the visit really pleasant. I have come to Van Wert Health for blood work and others tests since moving to the area many times…read morenow. This has been especially the case since i have been taking medication for at least six months that requires i have monthly blood work until i am off it. My previous experiences with blood work and/or other medical analysis have been with Quest Diagnostic Centers when i lived in Miami. It was a chain of diagnostic centers where their level of service greatly differed based on which one you went to and even sometimes what day you went/who was attending you. You may get someone friendly, or someone surly. Sometimes you had a great experience... others a terrible one... and the wait times were ridiculously long. Van Wert Health, on the other hand, is completely different. I have not had a single bad experience with them. Everyone on the staff is friendly and courteous. Longest wait time i had was 20 minutes... and that was one time... usually i check in and i am immediately called. If you need lab work done in the area, definitely come here!

Facility: The building has enough parking, but we missed the drive the first time and had to turn around. But the sign for Utgent care is very easily seen... just that you might miss the entrance while you're looking for the sign like we did. LOL!The clinic is clean and comfortable. Service: There wasn't anyone else in the lobby so I went to the front desk and the receptionist was very helpful signing me in. The doctor came out while I was filling out my paperwork and I was telling the receptionist how much I liked her pen. So would you believe he brought me a nicer pen!!! How kind. Besides he got me right back and listened to my issues intently. He prescribed me medicine and even helped me find a pharmacy since I am not from here. Overall: I give this clinic 5 stars for the rapid, but thorough care I received from Dr Hassan and the team. Thank you!!!
